The Tony Award-winning Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella will be making its home in New York at the cherished Broadway Theater from January through June, with multiple shows nearly each day. The production breathes new life into the timeless fairy tale that tells the rag-to-riches story of the sweet-hearted Cinderella who, with the help of her fairy godmother, races against the clock in glass slippers to attend a ball against the will of her evil stepmother.
In this classic play with a fresh new twist, Cinderella is given a stronger point of view, while the script is littered with more wit and fun than before. Songs rarely heard from nearly 60 years ago (from the wonderful Rodgers and Hammerstein catalogue) are being revived for this remarkable on-stage production. Already reaping praise for it’s ideal cast, gorgeous costumes, catchy songs and beautiful fairy tale sets, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella is a night of family fun you won’t want to miss.
The musical was written for television by the legendary theater team and featured Julie Andrews in the iconic title role, but audience members attending the New York production will receive a special treat! “Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen will be making her musical debut under center (relieving Tony nominated Laura Osnes) for a twelve week run starting in February.
