“Phantom of the Opera” first opened in London’s West End in 1986 and has been a renowned Broadway musical
for the past 25 years. The music was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who has also written songs for “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Evita
,” and “Cats.” This performance, which was adapted from a novel and has been made into a motion picture more than once, has won numerous awards including a Tony for Best Musical and is also the longest running show in Broadway history.
Dark yet enchanting with a brilliant score, “Phantom” has appealed to audiences all over the world. In fact, by 2011, it had been seen by 130 million people. Over the next year, there will be ample opportunities for you to see it, whether it is your first, second, or maybe even third time! Mainly, “Phantom” will be playing at the Majestic Theatre
in New York City (pricing starting at just $66), but there will also be some performances in other parts of the nation.
There are a few performances scheduled beginning in late November at the Providence Performing Arts Center
in Providence, RI. Phantom of the Opera Rhode Island tickets are $104-$166. By mid-December, the show will be playing at the Orpheum Theatre
in Minneapolis. The prices for those shows vary. Some dates start at $76 and others are no cheaper than $215. There are numerous shows in January and February at the Cadillac Palace
in Chicago; the show then moves on to Ohio, Philadelphia, Boston, Wisconsin, and Des Moines, IA. Search your city for best results.
