Les Misérables Musical 2014 News and Updates
6/27/14 - Cameron Mackintosh's epic new Broadway production of Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schönberg’s Tony Award-winning musical, Les Misérables, has extended its run at the Imperial Theatre to January 2015! The Broadway revival opened in March to rave reviews and was previously slated to perform only until Oct, but high demand has given way to the major extension. The production was nominated for the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival as well as Best Actor (Ramin Karimloo/Jean Valjean). Les Misérables is currently playing the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City, with a new stop at Ellen Eccles Theatre in Logan, UT. Of course, you can catch Le Miz—not for “One Day More” but for many more months on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre. Les Misérables, or “Le Miz” as it is often referred to, will be performing most often in the city of Toronto, at the Princess of Wales Theatre
. There are a few shows at the Lexington Opera House in Lexington, Kentucky. But then there is a solid block of shows only in Toronto for the whole month of November and through most of December. There will be a break just before Christmas, and the show will go on, but not until mid-February 2014.
At that point, there are nine shows scheduled for Raleigh, North Carolina. Then one show March 15 in San Bernardino, California. Le Miz will close with three shows in Phoenix, Arizona, spread out between two months: April 26, May 3, and May 10. As most of the Les Misérables shows scheduled for 2013 are taking place at Princess of Wales, the people of Toronto really have their pick of dates. The four sections available at that venue are Balcony, Dress Circle, Orchestra, and Box. Pricing for the end of September is $283, $354, $377, and $425 respectively. Interestingly, that pricing is set at the same scale for the following three months.
Alternatively, the Les Misérables dates in Lexington are a bit cheaper. That venue has three sections of seating, but prices are pretty much set at either $94 or $122. Looking further ahead to February, the cost of Les Misérables tickets for the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium
are between $103 and $188. Les Misérable Phoenix tickets to all three shows at the closing at the Phoenix Theatre
are priced at $95.
