Philadelphia Union 2015 Season
6/12/15 - The Philadelphia Union are hanging on by a thread for playoff contention. They are currently in seventh place in the eastern conference and are treating each game like it’s their last. Their record is standing at four wins and nine losses, but that doesn’t depict the truth about the closeness of each game. On June 6 the Union were ready to compete against the New York City FC. The game started out slowly, leaving both team scoreless at half time. The second half brought a lot more excitement and energy offensively. The game ended with a 1-2 score for the New York City FC. Watch the Union play live on June 20 against the Los Angeles Galaxy. Tickets for that game run between $16-$71 a piece.
After making it to the MLS postseason in 2011, the Philadelphia Union have fallen back to a mid-table Eastern Conference squad, finishing eighth in the conference in 2012 and moving up to seventh last year. To that end, the Union made some moves, including the acquisition of American international Maurice Edu on loan from Stoke City of the English Premier League. This is Edu’s second loan, as he spent part of 2013 with Bursaspor, a Turkish side. Still, finding the back of the net regularly is Sebastien Le Toux, who holds Union team records for both goals and assists.
