Orlando City SC 2015 News and Updates

7/9/15 - The Orlando City SC is even on all playing fields on the standing board. They have six wins, six draws, and six losses and hold the third seed in the Eastern Conference. Their last match was against Real Salt Lake on Independence Day and didn’t go in the favor of either team, ending in a 1-1 tie. An amazing shot by Real Salt Lake’s Garcia in the first half, barely skimmed the goal line and therefore wasn’t counted. This was quickly answered by Orlando City in the fourth minute of playing time by Kaka. He was able slide by Real’s defenders and slam one into the goal. Real followed up with a goal to match Orlando City’s to tie the game. See Orlando City play live on July 11. Tickets start at $28.

6/12/15 - The Orlando City SC soccer team is currently sitting in fourth place in the eastern conference division, but they are playing their hearts out to improve their record and move up in standings. The Orlando City SC hit the green field on June 6 when they faced off against the Chicago Fire. The Orlando City SC was able to fight back during the second half to win the game at 3-2. Despite being a goal behind the Fire, Orlando City put in rookie Cyle Larin to see if he could be lucrative for the team’s offense. Fortunately he pulled off an outstanding long distance goal that led Orlando City to the win. Watch them compete against the best team in the league, the DC United on June 14. Tickets start at $29 a piece.

4/8/15 - With five points through five games, from a win and a pair of draws (against two losses), Orlando City S.C. has to be hoping for more success as they head across country to take on San Jose in their new playpen. The Lions are also hoping to jump-start their offense; their current overall goal differential stands at minus-1 (four goals against five goals conceded).

3/25/15 - After collecting the first win in team history on the road against Houston in Week 2, Orlando City SC found themselves back out on the road last weekend, where they fell to Vancouver Whitecaps F.C. 1-0 at BC Place Stadium for their first loss of the season. Still, Orlando City have four points through three games as they prepare for this weekend’s contest, another Canadian road trip, this time to Montreal.

3/11/15 - Wow. Over 62,000 spectators packed the Citrus Bowl last weekend to witness the Major League Soccer debut of Orlando City S.C. – and while they didn’t end the day with a win, their star player earned them their first point with a late stoppage time goal against fellow debutants New York City F.C. Kaka, the Brazilian international, capped off the day for the purple-clad Lions with a stunning goal to send the home fans home on a positive note.
