Colorado Rapids 2015 Season

2014 Season

Since winning MLS Cup at the end of the 2010 season, the Colorado Rapids have fallen back into the pack in the Western Conference, but in 2013 returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2011. The last few years, with the exception of 2012’s seventh place finish, the Rapids have found themselves stuck on fifth place in the West, and the squad certainly hopes to move up in 2014. 2013 Season

While the Rapids enter the 2013 MLS Cup Playoffs as a five-seed, they’ll play a deteriorated Seattle Sounders team Wednesday for a chance to advance to the Western Conference Semifinals. The Sounders collapse, despite the addition of Clint Dempsey, has been the talk of the league; if Colorado can capitalize on the Seattle’s inconsistencies, they’ll find themselves up against the Timbers in the Semis. The Rapids will have to dig deep in the elimination game too; their season finale 3-0 loss to Vancouver may have halted the club’s momentum heading into the postseason. It’s Colorado’s first post season appearance since 2011.
