CONCACAF Gold Cup 2015 News and Updates
7/20/15 - It has all come down to this. With the CONCACAF Gold Cup coming to its conclusion, only two games remain. The United States and Jamaica faced off on July 22nd, but Jamaica advanced to the final round. The next game in the competition will be between The United States and the other team to be knocked out of the Semifinals, Panama. That showdown will be on July 25th at Chester, Pennsylvania. Being the game that determines the third place team, tickets are relatively cheap. You can attend for as little as $15. Then, on July 26th, the final match that will determine the champion will take place in Philadelphia. Jamaica and Mexico will face off for the trophy. Tickets are still available starting at $61.
7/13/15 - Head coach for the U.S. Men’s National Team Jurgen Klinsmann made three of the maximum-allowable six roster changes following completion of the CONCACAF Gold Cup group phase. The 23-player roster headed to the tournament now includes Joe Corona, Alan Gordon and DeMarcus Beasley, who will all report ahead of the U.S. team’s quarterfinals match on Saturday. Greg Garza, Jozy Altidore and Alfredo Morales will not be a part of the final squad in Gold Cup play. Of the newcomers, Beasley in particular brings a wealth of big-game experience, having played for four different United States World Cup teams in his career. 6/9/15 - The CONCACAF Gold Cup is the competition that determines which team from North America, Central America and the Caribbean are the regional champions. Even though this tournament is one of the largest in professional soccer, it has only been around since 1991 and has mainly been dominated by Mexico. The Gold Cup is a tournament that is put together every two years, unlike the World Cup. This year the tournament starts on July 7 in Frisco, TX where Panama will face off against Haiti and the USA will take on Honduras. Tickets for these buzz worthy games start at $80 a pop. 4/8/15 - The draw is set, the schedule is announced…now the waiting for July begins for the nations of North and Central America and the Caribbean, for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the continental championship for national teams. The United States, who won the last Gold Cup in 2013, will advance to FIFA’s Confederations Cup if they prevail in this year’s edition.
