David Pearson has taken the checkered flag five times, including the first-ever Pure Michigan 400, and Joey Logano in the No. 22 car won the race last season. A year prior gave NASCAR fans one of the most talked-about of the season: lap 64 saw a crazy crash (involving Kasey Kahne, Mark Martin, Bobby Labonte and Juan Pablo Montoya), while Jimmie Johnson lost his lead from a blown-up engine with just five laps left to go. When the dust finally settled, Greg Biffle arose victorious.

The track may be one of the fastest in the country, due to its wide sweeping corners and long straightaways—even qualifying speeds are over 200 mph—but people don't just go to Pure Michigan 400 to see the jam-packed action at MIS.
