NASCAR and the Sprint Cup Series returns to New Hampshire on September 21st and this year the Sylvania 300 will have a brand new format with 16 contenders eligible for the championship during the race. It’s the second race in the series and serves as a stepping stone for aspiring champions. It’s actually a 317 mile race but gets its name from the 300 laps the drivers take. The track, nicknamed “The Magic Mile” is a 1 mile oval course that can be converted into 1.6 mile road course. It has its own mascot, Milo the Moose, who claims to be the cousin of legendary Wally World mascot, Marty Moose.
Matt Kenseth won in 2013 and will be looking to turn out the lights on the competition for a back-to-back win. Chevrolet has the most wins in its history but Toyota has the last 2 wins for Joe Gibbs Racing. The race weekend will feature fun fan events and races from other series, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Sylvania 300 NASCAR tickets start at $75 to sit in the main grandstand and reach $1494 for a VIP experience; sorry folks, light bulbs not included.
