6/5/14 - What's more American than enjoying a Fourth of July barbecue and then heading down to Daytona International Speedway for a NASCAR race? On Saturday, July 5, the best racers in the sport descend upon Daytona Beach for the Coke Zero 400. See drivers like Matt Kenseth, Jeff Gordon and Carl Edwards partake in this summertime tradition, and after the race, experience one of the nation's biggest fireworks display. Get Coke Zero 400 tickets and enjoy this holiday weekend race for as little as $52 to get-in.
Nothing says racing like Daytona Beach and NASCAR heads down to the legendary Daytona International Speedway on 4th of July weekend for the 2nd time this season. The race began in 1959 as the Firecracker 250 and was subsequently lengthened to the Firecracker 400 in 1963 and the aptly named Fireball Roberts won it that year - wonder how he got that name.
Pepsi took over naming rights for many years and the race was changed to the Pepsi 400 and after 19 years Coca-Cola took over the rights and opted to promote their Coke Zero brand. In 1998 it was the first restrictor plate race ever held at night and Jeff Gordon won it in his black SS with the navigation (it’s unconfirmed if Nelly was riding shotgun with him).
There are great seats available starting at only $71 each and as an added value after the race you will get to watch one of the biggest firework displays in the US. Not a bad way to spend the holiday summer night in Florida, racing and fireworks.
