Aaron’s 499 2014 News and Updates
The Aaron's 499 has built up a reputation as one of the most nail-biting thrillers in the NASCAR Spring Cup Series. This 500-miler is held annually at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama and is one of the most popular events to attend all season. Not only does the Aaron's 499 take place at one of the most iconic racing venues in history, but it is one of four tracks in the "Race for the Cup" run with restrictor plates. Aaron's always boasts the biggest athletes in NASCAR, and each of these stars want to win it big in Bama.
Last year's Aaron's 499 saw two "Big One" crashes. The first came in a reenactment of an early season Daytona 500
crash when Kyle Busch clipped the back of Kasey Kahne's car and spun out, taking 16 cars with him (including Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick). The second incredible crash saw Kurt Busch's car flipping through the air and onto Ryan Newman, with Danica Patrick, J.J. Yeley, Ricky Stenhouse, Jeff Gordon and more involved in the wreckage. The wild race ended with David Ragan emerging from the debris to take his place in the Victory Lane for the green-white checkered finish.
