UFC Ultimate Fighting Championship 2015 News and Updates
9/11/15 - It is no secret that you have to be physically indomitable to make a living in the UFC, but that doesn’t mean you have to be a tough guy emotionally. In fact, former heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia left the league for that very reason. While many fans would love to see Sylvia back in the Octagon, he won’t be back any time soon. He recently stated that he left professional fighting without notice in 2008 because he was extremely bitter about Brock Lesnar’s salary as the new guy in fighting. He was earning three times was Sylvia was and officials seemingly wouldn’t let the reigning heavyweight champion achieve the same level of fame, saying that president Dana White continues to hold a grudge against him.
9/4/15 - It is not too late for you to get your tickets to the UFC 191. The much anticipated event is just a couple days away, so this is your last chance. Still, you could be in the stands on September for as little as $62. Johnson will taking on Dodson in an event you will not want to miss. Of course, the excitement for the evening does not stop there. As many as 11 fights are scheduled for that night, so it is sure to be filled with non-stop action. If you are unable to make it, the UFC Ultimate Fighting Championship is right around the corner, kicking off on October 3rd. Tickets for that event are also still available, starting off at just $62.
8/28/15 - There are just a few more days until September and that means that the next installment of Ultimate Fighting Championship is just around the corner. The next event is the UFC 191, which takes place over Labor Day weekend on Saturday, September 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Tickets are currently available at several different price points, with some starting at as little as $77. This is a great opportunity to catch what is set to be one of the most epic clashes in recent league history, Johnson vs. Dodson. In fact, many have called for a live stream of the fight because they are anticipating it to be a brutal showdown. Don’t miss a second of the action when it goes down next Saturday.
6/26/15 - Another huge UFC fight is on the brink of occurring and fighters and fans alike are getting pumped up to see all of the action. On June 27, Lyoto Machida and Yoel Romero touch fists to see who will be the victor for the UFC Ultimate Fighting Championship. Machida is up on Romero in the rankings by two slots, but that doesn’t mean that Romero doesn’t have a chance. Romero has an excellent record, approximately 89 percent, for knock outs and total knock outs compared to Machida’s 41 percent. This fight will be one of the best since Pacquiao and Mayweather earlier this spring. Don’t miss your chance to catch all of the fight live at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL. Tickets are still available starting at $80 a piece.
1/16/15 - Join the UFC fans at TD Garden in Boston for a night of UFC mixed martial arts fighting. The big fight that is getting a lot of attention is between Conor McGregor and Dennis Silver, but there’s other great matchups that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Donald Cerrone is returning to the cage for a bout against Benson Henderson. John Howard and Lorenz Larkin go at it, and so do Charles Rosa and Sean Soriano. Razorgator still has great seats available for the meet. It starts at 6:00 pm on Sunday (1/18). If you need a break from football, get your tickets at prices starting at only $42. With seven great fights, you’ll have a great evening of excitement watching some excellent athletes who fight hard.
7/25/14 – If you want to witness one of the best MMA fights of the year, now would be the time to buy your UFC tickets. This Saturday, Robbie Lawler and Matt Brown are headlining a bout guaranteed by officials to be up for the Fight of the Year. UFC Fight Night tickets are still available, and you can get-in at the SAP Center in San Jose for as low as $26. That’s a small price to pay to see a match that UFC Hall of Famer Forrest Griffin doesn’t even want to call. Even still, tomorrow’s battle is just the start of what is going to be a stacked close to the 2014 UFC season.
UFC 178 will pit Conor McGregor against Dustin Poirier in a must-see non-title fight; after all, the Irishman McGregor predicts he’ll be featherweight champ by the end of the year. Headlining UFC 178 is Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier; the undefeated Olympic wrestler despises Jones, but can he contend with this future Hall of Famer? UFC 180 will sweep Mexico off its feet when Cain Velasquez defends his parents’ birthplace against veteran Werdum. Ronda Rousey, arguably the sport’s biggest star, is slated opposite Gina Carano this year, but the fight has yet to be booked. Another star-studded match is confirmed, however: buy UFC 181 tickets and witness Chris Weidman vs. Vitor Belfort. The undefeated middleweight champ took MMA by storm when he downed Anderson Silva twice last year. “The Phenom” won’t make it easy on his opponent, as Belfort is hoping to become the third fighter in history to win a belt in two classes. Score UFC tickets to actually be at the championship fights that everyone will be talking about.
5/28/14 - On June 7, Ben Henderson (21-3-0), will headline against challenger, Rustam Khabilov (17-1-0) for the first set of UFC Fight Nights this summer. Henderson recently lost his lightweight belt to Anthony Pettis in UFC 164, see him in his shot for redemption with 2014 UFC tickets. Both fighters are known for their ground attacks, so this should be a very good fight that will go the distance in Albuquerque. The UFC Championship 174 will get underway a week later in Vancouver (6/14), featuring current champion Demetrious Johnson opposite Ali Bagautinov in the UFC Flyweight matchup. This is followed by UFC Fight Night on 5/28 and the UFC Championship 175 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino (6/5). The Middleweight competition will be headlined by current champ Chris Weidman, challenged by former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Lyoto Machida. The fighting will peak on July 6 with the Ultimate Fighter Finale 19: a mix of middleweight and lightweight contenders distributed between Team Frankie Edgar and Team BJ Penn at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The most expensive Ultimate Fighting Championship tickets this year were UFC 160 tickets averaging $1006 to watch Velasquez vs. Bigfoot 2. UFC 162 tickets brought in more than $4.8 million of revenue with an average ticket price of $735 to see Chris Weidman take the middleweight title away from Anderson Silva. Both fights took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC 168 tickets are expected to reach an all-time high in price due to the fact that the event is the most anticipated rematch in MMA history. Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman II is set for December 28 at the coveted MGM Grand Hotel Garden Arena in Vegas. Silva is the odds-on favorite despite “The Spiders” loss to Weidman at UFC 162. Weidman will look to prove that his second round TKO to upset perhaps the greatest MMA fighter in the sport’s history was no fluke. Silva would like to reclaim his UFC middleweight title, one he had held for almost seven years.
To give you a good idea of just how high in demand UFC 160 & 162 tickets were, consider this: UFC on Fox Sports 1 tickets at TD Garden average $190, UFC on Fox Sports 2 tickets at Bankers Life Fieldhouse average $235, UFC 164 tickets at Bradley Center average $293, and UFC 165 tickets at Air Canada Centre average $323 on the resale market.
