All in all, it was a very intense playoffs this year, with five of the 13 matchups so far coming down to the final game. Amusingly, two of those instances turned out to be in the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference finals. Even though the final round is about to begin, four team are still clinging on to the hope of taking the championship: the New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Anaheim Ducks. We will finally find out who will be advancing to the last round on May 30th. The Anaheim Ducks and the New York Rangers have the home rink advantage, so the two underdogs will need to make their play on Saturday.
5/20/15 - The NHL Stanley Cup finals are coming closer. There are just four teams remaining and six to ten games remaining before the final two teams will meet up. The New York Rangers are battling it out with the Tampa Bay Lightening, while the Anaheim Ducks are playing against the Chicago Blackhawks for the chance to play for the Stanley Cup. The latest game between the Ducks and the Blackhawks made news for several reason. First, it went into triple overtime, which means the game lasts 116:12 minutes, which makes it the longest game of the playoffs and the longest in the Blackhawks' history. Additionally, Andrew Shaw scored a header during the second overtime, only to discover that this move is illegal, which also stunned many other players and fans. 5/12/15 - There is much to be talked about regarding the upcoming NHL finals. The Western conference contenders have been finalized this week when the Blackhawks swept the Minnesota Wild and the Anaheim Ducks finished off the Calgary Flames in overtime, ending the series at 4-1. 4/28/15 - One round of playoffs is almost over, ending some teams' dreams of winning the 2015 NHL Stanley Cup. One game remains in the round between the Lightning and the Red Wings, but the NHL has already released the second round schedule, with two scenarios covering either team's advance in the playoffs. Experts have already made their predictions on who will advance to the semifinal round, with a chance to continue to the final match. Many experts believe that the Montreal Canadiens, NY Rangers, the Minnesota Wild, and the Anaheim Ducks will be the teams to advance to the next stage, but it could be any of the eight teams in the second round.
