LA Kings News – 2013 Kings Updates
8/1/13 - There are a few games that stand out on the Los Angeles Kings schedule this year - the outdoor Freeway Face-Off against the Anaheim Ducks on January 25 at Dodger Stadium and a road game to Chicago for a December 15 Western Conference Finals Rematch. The average LA Kings tickets are $138, $37 cheaper than the NHL tickets
average. Kings road tickets are $168 which means that hockey fans still want to see the 2012 Stanley Cup champions in action.
Last season proved to be a miracle season for the Los Angeles Kings, who got hot at just the right time, snuck into the playoffs on the last night of the season as the eighth seed in the Western Conference, and then proceeded to blitz their way through the playoffs, going 16-4 while knocking off the top three seeds in the West — Vancouver, St. Louis, and Phoenix, in that order — before taking out New Jersey for the right to be the second California-based NHL squad to hoist the Stanley Cup (after the 2006-07 Anaheim Ducks), while goaltender Jonathan Quick was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.
Coming off the extended lockout, however, the Kings are struggling to find their way, as they are hovering near the bottom of the conference standings. Netminder Quick is struggling to keep the puck out of the net; while on offense, the lead players are centers Jeff Carter, Anze Kopitar (a fan favorite), and Mike Richards — who also leads the team in penalty minutes. Wings Dustin Brown and Kyle Clifford, and defenseman Slava Voynov have also made significant scoring contributions. Can coach Darryl Sutter turn things around and get the Kings pointed in the right direction this season, sufficiently in order to defend the Cup? Only time will tell. LA Kings tickets on home ice at Staples Center
average $91 — one of only a handful of NHL teams with average ticket prices less than $100 for the 2013 season. Kings fans looking to find cheap Kings hockey tickets can score seats under $20 in the Upper Concourse and under $50 in the Lower 200s. On the road, Los Angeles Kings tickets average $103 this season, 13% more than home games.
