Florida Panthers News – 2013 Panthers Updates

For the first time in 12 years, the Florida Panthers advanced to the Stanley Cup Playoffs last year. Although the team didn't make it far in the NHL Playoffs, things did look up for the team heading into 2013. Despite Florida's success in 2012, Panthers hockey tickets did not see the significant increases that other NHL teams saw. The average Florida Panthers tickets at BB&T Center were $60 at the beginning of the season, third cheapest in the League. BB&T Center has been the Florida Panthers arena that they have called home since the 1998 season.

Despite cheap Panthers tickets for home games, Florida was the fourth most expensive road team at the beginning of the NHL season. However, after under-performing in the beginning of the season Panthers away tickets are now thirteenth most expensive. In the last 8 years, the search for "Florida Panthers tickets" according to Google Trends was highest in January of 2013. Interest quickly fell; in one short month, searches dropped by 25%.

In the second half of the shortened 2013 NHL season, the Cats look to improve and stop their opponents from scoring; the team currently has the worst goal differential in the Eastern Conference and fewest goals. Trying to turn things around, Rookie Jonathan Huberdeau has contributed 8 goals and 13 points. Key Divisional matchups on the Florida Panthers schedule at home: Carolina Hurricanes (3/3), Winnipeg Jets (3/8), and Tampa Bay Lightning (3/12).
