Colorado Avalanche News – 2013 Avalanche Updates
The Colorado Avalanche roster didn't see much change this off-season; instead Colorado re-signed many of their free agents and added Pierre-Alexandre "P.A." Parenteau, Greg Zanon, and John Mitchell. The Avalanche recently handed the Chicago Blackhawks their first regulation loss of the season and snapped their point streak in a 6-2 victory. Mitchell contributed a goal in the win while Matt Duchene had four points for the Avs. Colorado nearly ended Chicago's streak two nights prior; but, lost 3-2. The "streak busters" hope to gain confidence from the experience as they begin the second half of the shortened
NHL season.
The most expensive match this season will be played against rival
Detroit Red Wings (4/5), averaging $95 a seat. Not every Avalanche game has a high price tag though — Colorado Avalanche tickets were second cheapest in the NHL at the beginning of the season. Avalanche tickets saw a 33% decrease since last season and are averaging $53 at
Pepsi Center. It'll cost you $36 more to see the team on the road. At the start of the season there were tickets available to every home game for $30 or less.
The Colorado Avalanche share the Pepsi Center with the
Denver Nuggets (
NBA). Nuggets tickets are almost double the cost of Avalanche tickets. The second half of the Avalanche schedule includes a second
Chicago Blackhawks meeting at home and six matchups against division opponents.
