Chicago Blackhawks 2015-2016 News and Updates

11/16/15 - The Chicago Blackhawks head to Edmonton to play the Oilers on Wednesday, November 18, fueled by two strong performances in a row to help them through this long road trip. Duncan Keith and Michael Rozsival returned to the ice over the weekend and will be ready to play once again on Wednesday. The Oilers head into the game without their rookie star Connor McDavid to injury and several other players to illness and have lost the last four out of five games, which could give the Blackhawks the upper hand. Blackhawks fans in Edmonton or those planning a road trip can still get tickets to the game. Ticket prices start at $21.

11/9/15 - The Chicago Blackhawks took a strong 1-4 victory against the Calgary Flames on November 15th. This is their third victory during their last four games, which brings their season record to 10-7-1. It also marks the final home game of November. Fans are going to have quite a wait for the Blackhawks to return to Chicago, but they should be able to hold their own while on the road. They will finally make their big return on December 1st when they host the Minnesota Wild. Tickets are already available, starting at $67. This is sure to be an exciting matchup, so get your tickets and come out to welcome the Blackhawks back.

11/2/15 - The Chicago Blackhawks beat the Los Angeles Kings when they played on the 2. Jonathan Towes scored in the first period, and the Blackhawks briefly led, but then the Kings scored twice more to take the lead. The Blackhawks rallied in the third period to get three points, thanks to Patrick Kane, Teuvo Teravainen and Artem Anisimov, to take the win. They were not so lucky when they lost a high scoring game against the Blues, which went into overtime. The Blackhawks scored five goals in the first period, but it was not enough to keep the lead and win. The Blackhawks next play the Devils on the 6, and you can still get tickets starting at $43.

10/26/15 - For being the Stanley Cup winners of 2015, the Chicago Blackhawks haven’t proven themselves as champions so far this season. They are sitting in fifth place in the Central Division, but have a lot of tough competition within that Division. Currently the Blackhawks record is looking up as they have won their last four games in a row. Their last two games have been low in goal numbers, but that doesn’t matter if they pull off the win. See them play the Minnesota Wild on October 30 in St. Paul. Tickets are still available to purchase and are a great way to spend your weekend without freezing through the festivities.

10/19/15 - You would think that the winners of the Stanley Cup last year would be leading the pack in their division thus far in the NHL season, but that is not happening for the Chicago Blackhawks. Currently, they are in second to last place in the Central Division and are even with wins and losses. Things are starting to look up for the Blackhawks since winning their last two games. Watch them take on the Stanley Cup runners up, the Tampa Bay Lightning on October 24. This game will be packed with competition and outstanding hockey, so don’t miss your chance to see them play against each other again. Tickets start at $38.

10/14/15 - The Chicago Blackhawk are 2-2 so far this season. After losing their opening game to the Rangers, they beat the Islanders 3-2 in overtime. The Blackhawks scored first with a short handed goal by Artem Anisimov. The Islanders equalized, but the Blackhawks' Patrick Kane drew them ahead once more soon after. In the third period, the Islanders once again equalized, sending the game into overtime. Kane had a power play goal to win the game. They played the Islanders again the next night and once again beat them. They were shut out against the Flyers in their fourth game. They will look to get another win when they play the Capitals on October 15, with tickets available starting at $14.

10/5/15 - The Chicago Blackhawks tried to come back from behind to win their opening game for the 2015-16 season, but failed to do so in a 3-2 loss against the Rangers. The Rangers dominated the first period, scoring three to Chicago's single score by Artemi Panarin. Teuvo Teravainen scored in the second period, and the Blackhawks were unable to get another point to tie the game. Goalie Corey Crawford had 24 saves, including a sprawling pad save. The Blackhawks most likely had a tough time switching focus in the first period after their celebratory banner ceremony for their Stanley Cup win last season. The Blackhawks next face the Islanders at home on the 10th, with tickets available starting at $24.

9/14/15 - NHL training camp is off to a fast start for teams all across the US and Canada, and it wouldn’t be a typical preseason without a little controversy. The Chicago Blackhawks released the list of players who would be attending their first official practice on Friday, and Patrick Kane’s name was it. The right wing was accused in early August of rape, and while no charges have been filed, the legal investigation is ongoing. Team representatives stated that while some may not agree with the decision to invite Kane to practice, they felt it was an appropriate move. They want to avoid the precedence that players should not play based on accusations alone. The first preseason game for the Blackhawks is scheduled on Sept. 22 against the Red Wings.

2014-2015 Season

6/10/15 - After a surprising upset in the opening Stanley Cup Finals game, the Chicago Blackhawks have taken a couple losses against the Tampa Bay Lightning. It appeared that they might have only won due to a fluke at first. The Blackhawks took a stand in the third matchup, however, Brandon Saad taking the lead six minutes into the final period. They held that lead for nearly fifteen minutes and earned their second 1-2 win. This victory means that both teams have won and lost once on each rink. With three matches remaining, it is becoming clear how evenly matched these teams are. The Lightning has the home advantage twice, so the biggest question is whether the Blackhawks will be able to overcome the odds and take the championship.

6/4/15 - Tampa Bay took the lead on their home ice to open Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals, but the Chicago Blackhawks would not be denied. Chicago knocked in two goals in the final 10 minutes of the contest to shock the Lightning, taking a 2-1 win in Game 1 on clutch offensive play from Teuvo Taravanien. The young center tied it up with the Blackhawks’ first goal of the game shortly before assisting on Antoine Vermette’s go-ahead score less than two minutes later. Goaltender Corey Crawford saved 23 of a possible 24 shots to anchor the Chicago defense, preserving his team’s opportunity to steal a win with his dazzling defense in the crease. Game 2 is Saturday night at Amalie Arena and you can be a part of the action starting at $372!

5/30/15 - Jonathan Toews scored two quick goals in the 1st period and the Blackhawks easily defeated the Ducks 5-3 to advance to the 2015 Stanley Cup Final. They'll travel to Tampa to play the Lightning this week and return to Chicago for Game 3 (June 8) and Game 4 (June 10) at the United Center.

5/25/15 - The Chicago Blackhawks have had an incredible season and it continues as they compete for a spot in the NHL finals against the Anaheim Ducks. The Blackhawks hit the ice against the Ducks on May 27 with the series score standing at 3-2 for the Ducks, putting the Blackhawks in a “must win” situation. The Blackhawks came out with fire in their eyes and defeated the Ducks 5-2. A lot of the credit goes to player Duncan Keith who seems to never run out of steam. He was completely dominant on Wednesday night, assisting three goals and even saving one. It all comes down to the final game seven held on May 30 in Anaheim, CA. Tickets for this thrilling game are still for sale and start at $67 a piece.

5/18/15 - After cruising past Minnesota with a four-game second-round sweep, the Chicago Blackhawks have run into some stiffer competition in the Western Conference Finals. The ‘Hawks suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the dangerous Ducks in Anaheim, as they found it difficult to sneak much past keeper Frederik Andersen. Brad Richards knocked in an unassisted goal for Chicago in the final minute of the second period to make it 2-1, but two more goals from the Ducks put the game out of reach mid-way through the final frame. The Blackhawks will look to bounce back and steal a game on the road to secure home ice advantage in the series, and you can be a part of the live action at the Honda Center with Game 2 seats starting at just $79! Game 3 tickets at the United Center are on sale now as well, starting at $176 each.

5/13/15 - The Conference Semifinals are over and the Chicago Blackhawks are moving on. They struggled slightly in the opening game, but they managed to remain completely undefeated in the round, which is a feat even the league leaders, the Anaheim Ducks, did not manage to pull off. They have a short break, but it will not be long before they are taking on the Ducks in the Conference Finals. While the Blackhawks are a lower ranked team, and they will be playing with the home rink disadvantage, the Chicago has a real chance to make it to the final round. Only four victories stand in their way. If they can hold their own in the first two away games, the Blackhawks will have a chance to tear it up on their own ice.

5/4/15 - After building a comfortable lead in Game 1 at home, the Chicago Blackhawks got a scare when the Wild rallied with three goals in the second period. The ‘Hawks locked down defensively though, and shut out Minnesota throughout the third period to take a 4-3 win in their home opener. Two nights later, they picked up a second win behind a pair of goals from Patrick Kane and a stellar performance from goalie Corey Crawford, who stopped 31 of 32 shots on goal as Chicago took a 4-1 victory. With a 2-0 lead in the series, the Blackhawks will now travel to Minnesota for Games 3 and 4. Tickets are on sale now for the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul! Game 3 is Tuesday night and seats are available from $108.

4/30/15 - The divisional semifinals are officially over and the Chicago Blackhawks have secured their spot in the finals. They took a couple losses, but the sixth match of the round made the decision when the Blackhawks beat out the Nashville Predators 3-4. It was tied after the first period and the tie was not broken until Duncan Keith, assisted by Jonathan Toews, scored just four minutes before the end of the match. On May 1st, the Blackhawks will start the finals, playing against the Minnesota Wilds, with the home rink advantage. The Wilds were a wild card, but they played equally as well as Chicago in the last round. The Blackhawks will have to keep their guard up if they want to move on to the conference finals.

4/20/15 - With their 4-2 victory over the Nashville Predators on Sunday night, the Chicago Blackhawks reclaimed the series lead at 2-1. Leading scorer Jonathan Toews led the way with a goal and two assists, and Marian Hossa assisted on a pair of goals to power the Blackhawks’ potent offense. Goaltender Scott Darling stopped 35 of Nashville’s 37 shots to help keep the pressure on the Predators after Chicago took a two-goal lead, scoring three times in a furious second period. The ‘Hawks will look to take a commanding 3-1 lead as the series remains in Chicago for Game Four. Tickets are on sale now for the United Center starting at $71, but don’t delay because supplies are limited! Be a part of all the live excitement of the NHL playoffs!

4/13/15 - The Stanley Cup Playoffs are here, and the Chicago Blackhawks are ready to tangle with the Nashville Predators in the first round of Western Conference competition. Both teams closed out the regular season on losing streaks, but the postseason is a whole new game with a clean slate. Standout center Jonathan Toews will look to lead Chicago to a victory in Game One on the road at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Tickets are on sale now for the opening game of the series starting at $41! The Blackhawks will have the opportunity to host Game Three on their home ice at the United Center, and you can get in with prices starting at $47. Seats are limited, so grab your tickets now to be a part of the NHL postseason excitement!

4/10/15 - Although the Chicago Blackhawks outshot their most recent opponent, the Minnesota Wild, during the first two periods, they were unable to get the puck past the Wild's goalie. The first two periods remained scoreless for both teams, but that changed in the third period. The Wild were first on the scoreboard, and scored twice before Chicago was finally able to get one goal in by Bryan Bickell late in the period. However, they were unable to tie up the game. After the loss, the Blackhawks is in third place, and are only points behind the Predators and the St. Louis Blues. They will be looking to add points in their last two games of the season before heading into the playoffs. They next face the Blues on April 9, with tickets available starting at $67.

3/23/15 - The Chicago Blackhawks beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1, coming back from a devastating 4-0 loss against the Stars on the 21st. In the game against the Hurricanes, they drew ahead by two goals from Andrew Shaw and Patrick Sharp in the first period of play, and Shaw secured the victory with another goal during the third period. Although the Hurricanes worked hard to even the score, goalie Corey Crawford made 43 saves, only letting in one goal. Jonathan Toews didn't score a point, but his assist gave him his 500th NHL point. The win moves Chicago to within just two points of surpassing the Predators for second place and three to beat the St. Louis Blues for first place of the Central Division. They next meet the Flyers on the 25th, with tickets starting at $24.

3/19/15 - After beating the Islanders 4-1 on the 17th, the Chicago Blackhawks have a three game winning streak, the first streak of more than two wins they have had since December. For the first time since early in the season, Patrick Sharp played with Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa, creating a dynamite trio. Hossa and Toews each scored twice, and Sharp and Toews had two assists each. The Blackhawks dominated from early in the game, scoring twice in the first period, once in the second, and their final point early in the third. New York finally got on the board in the third period, but it was not enough to stop the Blackhawks. The Blackhawks will be looking to keep their winning streak going when they face the Rangers on the 18th, with tickets still available, starting at $114.

3/9/15 - The Chicago Blackhawks got another victory against the Edmonton Oilers on March 6th, but more recently they took on the New York Rangers. Apparently they were perfectly matched because neither team was able to score for the entire game. Unfortunately, the Rangers were able to win the game with a single point in overtime. Now at 39-21-6, the Blackhawks still trail in the third position for the division. They are only five points behind second and seven behind the top team, the Nashville Predators. The Blackhawks are quickly running out of time to catch up as the season winds down. Additionally, with only six remaining home games in the regular season, you are running out of opportunities to catch them live. Your next chance will be on March 17th when they play the New York Islanders.

3/2/15 - Still trailing in third for the Central Division, the Chicago Blackhawks are making a comeback with two back to back victories against the Florida Panthers, where the Blackhawks won with three points in each match. This also marks the end of Chicago's three-game losing streak. More recently, the team got a strong win against the Carolina Hurricanes on March 2nd. Jonathan Toews lead with two goals and Michal Rozsival followed with two assists. Even though Carolina took more shots, the Blackhawks' goalie, Corey Crawford, kept them from scoring until the very last period. With a strong 2-5 win behind them, things are looking up for the Blackhawks. They take on the Edmonton Oilers in what promises to be a very exciting game. Tickets start at $102.

2/23/15 - Having lost three straight as the final stretch of the NHL season gets underway, the Chicago Blackhawks are making changes to their roster. The team announced on Sunday that they would be recalling Stockholm-native Joakim Nordstrom, as well as goaltender Scott Darling from the Rockford IceHogs, clearing space by reassigning Ryan Hartman and Antti Raanta. Nordstrom has racked up 16 points in 23 games with the IceHogs, while Darling has stopped nearly 94 percent of opponents’ shots in seven outings with Rockford. Chicago will hope that the personnel moves spark them to wins as they enter into a home-and-home series versus the Florida Panthers this week. Tickets for the away game in Fort Lauderdale can be had for as low as $28, but supplies are limited so act now!

2/16/15 - Back-to-back wins have the Chicago Blackhawks nipping at the St. Louis Blues’ heels in the Central Division, with less than two months remaining in the season. After knocking off the New Jersey Devils 3-1 on Friday, the ‘Hawks took a 2-1 shootout win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday evening, lifting their record to 35-18-4. Chicago is now an outstanding 7-2 when playing games still tied after overtime, getting shootout goals each from Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, and Patrick Sharp to earn the narrow win over Sidney Crosby’s Penguins. The Blackhawks will try to keep climbing the ranks on Wednesday night at home versus the Detroit Red Wings. Tickets are available from $94 each, so don’t miss this clash between two of the NHL’s best!

2/13/15 - Following a pair of wins over the Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues, the Chicago Blackhawks have suffered a pair of tough losses to Western Conference foes. On Friday, it was the Arizona Coyotes squeezing out a 3-2 victory over the ‘Hawks via shootout; two nights later, Daniel Sedin knocked in the decisive goal in overtime to lift the Vancouver Canucks to a win, keeping Chicago from making up more ground on St. Louis in the standings. Marian Hossa has scored two goals in each of the last three games for the Blackhawks, after scoring nine through the first 51 games of the season. The ‘Hawks will continue their current eight-game home stand on Friday versus the New Jersey Devils, and you can be a part of the action starting at $112.

2/5/15 - After their roughest month of the season, the Chicago Blackhawks are still hanging tough near the top of the Central Division in the West. The ‘Hawks had the misfortune of running up against the Minnesota Wild plus Devan Dubnyk—the recently-acquired goaltender has led his new team to four straight wins, with three shutouts under his belt since the mid-January trade brought him aboard. Chicago managed 24 shots on goal for the contest, but Dubnyk was in a zone, handing the Blackhawks their second straight shutout loss. The ‘Hawks will look to bounce back on Friday night at the MTS Centre, as they face off with the Winnipeg Jets. Great seats can still be had for as low as $38, but don’t delay—supplies are very limited!

1/28/15 - The Chicago Blackhawks came heartbreakingly close to another victory when they played the Los Angeles Kings on Jan. 28th. Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp both scored in the first period for an early lead and one more point in the third by Andrew Shaw maintained that lead. Unfortunately, the Kings made an unexpected upset in the last seven minutes of the game. It was a very close game, but Chicago fell just barely short with the final score being 3-4. They have had a rough patch lately, losing half of their last six games, but they are still third in their division and only trailing by a single win. With 30-16-2, the Blackhawks travel to Anaheim to play the Ducks. They will return on Feb. 9th to play the Arizona Coyotes and tickets start at $19.

1/19/15 - Following a pair of losses at home, the Chicago Blackhawks are looking to bounce back on Tuesday night versus Arizona before they hit the road for a seven-game trip. Chicago maintained their position in the top three of the Central Division, but will need to string together a few wins in order to gain ground on Nashville and St. Louis. The ‘Hawks have not won back-to-back games since late December, and will have to win on Tuesday in order to avoid their first three-game skid this season. They will begin their extended road trip on Wednesday night as they face the dangerous Pittsburgh Penguins, led by Sidney Crosby. Limited seats are still available for the contest, starting at $67, but don’t delay—tickets are going fast!

1/13/15 - One of the best teams right now in the Central Division is the Chicago Blackhawks. They have a record of 28-13-2, and seem to be rolling as of late. Their latest victory was a blowout against the Minnesota Wild, which ended with a final score of 4-1. A huge reason for their success was because of Marian Hossa and Bryan Bickell. Both scored once in the game, and passed the puck around nicely. The Blackhawks goalie, Corey Crawford also had a great game, getting 36 saves. It’s performances like this that make the Blackhawks so dangerous against any team. Up next for them is a game against Winnipeg, which takes place this Friday. Tickets can be bought now for $157. It should be competitive from start to finish.

1/5/15 - The Chicago Blackhawks sit in second in the Central Division with an overall record of 26-12-2. They have a great offense and good defense. The Avs scored two goals in the first period and shut out the Blackhawks for the game. The Minnesota Wild come to the United Center to face the Blackhawks on Sunday. Razorgator has great seats available, starting at only $114 for this game. On Friday, the Blackhawks host the Winnipeg Jets. If you’re looking for something different to do, you won’t go wrong by coming out to the ice. Cheer on the Blackhawks and watch the great talent in your own backyard.

12/29/14 - The Chicago Blackhawks continue their strong season, beating the Nashville Predators in a shoot out on December 29. The win marks the Blackhawks' 13th win out of the last 16 games. The Predators led the game 3-0, but the Blackhawks came back strong in the second period, scoring three goals in just over seven minutes, thanks to Brad Richards, Andrew Shaw and Marian Hossa. The Blackhawks took the lead after another goal, until the Predators tied the game in the final minutes, leading to a shoot out. Jonathan Toews provided the lone shoot out goal, giving the Blackhawks the 5-4 win. The Blackhawks next play at the 2015 NHL Winter Classic against the Washington Capitals on January 1, followed by a home game on the 4th against the Dallas Stars. Tickets to the Winter Classic remain on sale, starting at $377.

12/23/14 - With a 4-0 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Chicago Blackhawks continue a strong season, with a 23-9-2 record that puts them 1st in the Central Division. They faced the Maple Leafs after a shootout loss against Columbus. They were also mourning their equipment manager, Clint Reif, who unexpectedly passed. Despite heavy hearts, they were able to not only win, but also give Antti Raanta his third career shutout, who also had 31 saves. The Blackhawks face the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday, December 23, where they will work towards recording a point for the 13th time out of the last 14 games. Despite missing both goaltender Corey Crawford to an injury and defenseman Duncan Keith to illness, the Blackhawks emerged victorious from their battle with the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, winning 5-3. Superstar team members Jonathan Toews, centerman and team captain, and Patrick Kane, right wing and the teams’ leading scorer, stepped up while playing Minnesota to help the team overcome the loss of their injured members. Chicago next plays the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday in Ohio, with tickets still available for less than $15 per seat. Don’t miss your chance to see the Hawks in person as they continue their trajectory to another Stanley Cup-winning season.

This continues Chicago’s impressive season bringing them to 15-8-1 but only 3rd in the Central Division. They still have some work to do as they take on the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday and then the Montreal Canadiens on Friday. Tickets are still available for the latter for as little as $19.

He’s in 5th place in the league in save percentages. The Blackhawks have been affected by injuries, but as players get well, their game is improving. They are out on the road, against the Colorado Avalanche on the 26th, the Anaheim Ducks on the 28th, and the Los Angeles Kings on the 29th. 10/27/14 - The Chicago Blackhawks have started out well through their first nine games they played this season. However, the Blackhawks would like to play with a little more consistency as they are on a mission this year to get back to the Stanley Cup Finals after devastating seven game loss in the conference finals to the LA Kings last season. The Blackhawks are seeking their third Stanley Cup since 2009-10 season as Blackhawks tickets for their next home game have an average price of $149.61 against the Anaheim Ducks at the United Center, according to Razorgator.

10/24/14 - The expectations for the Chicago Blackhawks are always that the team will be competing for the Stanley Cup, and this season’s club is no exception. 10/23/14 - There are only three teams in the NHL who have not been beaten in regulation, after just a couple weeks of play. One of them is the Chicago Blackhawks, who trail division rival Nashville by a single point from a 3-0-1 record.

10/22/14 - In seemingly traditional fashion, the Chicago Blackhawks have again started the season strong after winning four of their first five games. They cruised to an easy victory over the Flyers last night, shutting them out with a final score of 4-0 at the United Center. 3/17/14 - Marian Hossa was the difference for the Chicago Blackhawks in their contest on Saturday as he provided the spark to lead Chicago over the Detroit Red Wings. From here the Hawks look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday when they take on the Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center.

3/14/14 - Today the Nashville Predators travel to Chi-town to take on the defending Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks at the United Center. 3/10/14 - The Chicago Blackhawks had a few days rest before taking the ice Sunday against the Buffalo Sabres and it definitely proved to be the difference in the game as they were able to come away with the victory by a score of 2-1. 3/7/14 - Last night the Blackhawks got back on track when the absolutely dominated the Columbus Blue Jackets in every aspect of the game to beat them for the twelfth straight time 6-1. 3/6/14 - Tonight, the Chicago Blackhawks look to get back on the winning side of things when they play the Columbus Blue Jackets after suffering a 4-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche. 3/5/14 - Last night the Blackhawks were on the short end of a tough 4-2 loss in Chicago to the Colorado Avalanche, who were able to make up some decent ground in the Central Division and now sit just a single point behind the Blackhawks for second place. 3/3/14 - Enduring a constant downpour of heavy snow, the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins at Soldier Field Saturday evening 5-1. Patrick Sharp was the first Blackhawk to get on the board with a late 1st period goal, assisted by Jonathan Toews and Nick Leddy. Chicago went on to score two more in the second period, with goals by Toews and Kris Versteeg. James Neal was able to light the lamp early in the 3rd to make it 3-1, but the Blackhawks would score twice again for a resounding 5-1 victory. Chicago currently sits at 36-12-14 with 86 points on the season.

Since, prices have fallen 26 percent on the secondary market despite the team’s current third place standing overall and leaders of their division. Looking to bounce back from a three game losing streak, Chicago faces a tough 6-game road trip before the break; after the Olympics, the Blackhawks first "home game" is at Soldier Field as part of NHL’s Stadium Series.
