Boston Bruins 2014-2015 News and Updates
12/15/14 - Wednesday’s thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over the Minnesota Wild in Minneapolis snapped a three-game losing streak for the Boston Bruins. Two of those three consecutive losses came in overtime, which had to make Loui Eriksson’s goal during extra time especially sweet. Next up for Patrice Bergeron’s Bruins is a trip to take on Andrew Ladd and the Winnipeg Jets on December 19 (tickets from $76). Following that last stop on the road trip, the Bruins finish up the week with a pair of games in front of the home fans at the TD Garden. First up is a game against the struggling Buffalo Sabres on December 21 (tickets from $46). Two days later, Boston will have the chance to avenge a recent loss to the Nashville Predators, as Shea Weber and company come to town on December 23 (tickets from $67).
12/10/14 - With an average season full of inconsistency, the Boston Bruins remain ranked 5th in the Atlantic Division, with a 15-12-1 record. The team continues to struggle with several injuries, and they have lost another player, as forward Simon Gange has chosen to take personal leave to spend time with his very sick father. This season, the Bruins' offense has earned 0.65 goals fewer per game than last year, most likely due to the absence of David Krejci and Zdeno Chara. The players continue to do well with puck possession; they just need to do better at converting to points. When they face the Chicago Blackhawks, who are 1st in the Central Division with a 19-8-1 record, at home on Thursday, December 11, they will need to concentrate on conversion if they are to win. Tickets are on sale now, starting at $24.
12/1/14 - As the Boston Bruins wrap up their four game Western trip on Saturday against the Arizona Coyotes, they’re facing a number of injuries which is challenging them to stay on top of their game. With a 14-11-1 record, the Bruins rank 5th in the Atlantic Division. They know it’s a hard season, and they’re relying on the support of their fans to keep them motivated and encouraged to keep playing strong. The Coyotes are 6th in the Pacific Division, with a 10-13-1 record. The Bruins look better on paper, but the Coyotes have the home ice advantage. The Bruins need their fans. It will be a fight for the win. Don’t wait to get your tickets to get the best seats and cheer them on!
11/24/14 - The Boston Bruins lost 2-0 to the Montreal Canadiens last Saturday evening. Montreal is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings between the 2 clubs. The Bruins were missing a number of key players including defenseman Zdeno Chara, center David Krejci and left wing Brad Marchand, all out with injuries. Boston had won their last 6 home games before Saturday night’s defeat. After their Monday night game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston’s next home game is Friday, November 28th, as they take on the Winnipeg Jets. For the first week of December the Bruins head west for games against Anaheim, Los Angeles, San Jose and Arizona, before heading back home and taking on the Chicago Blackhawks on December 11th. Buy your tickets today and come out to cheer on the Bruins!
11/18/14 - On Saturday, the Boston Bruins were finally able to score another victory. After their 5 game winning streak ended last week, Boston has suffered a couple losses, but they were able to overcome the Carolina Hurricanes by just one point with a final score of 1-2. Both teams got all their points in the first period and strong defenses for both sides locked up their goal boxes. Carolina took 34 shots total and Boston took 25. This brings Boston to 11-8-0, and 3rd in the Atlantic Division. If they are to start another winning streak, they will have to start with the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday the 18th. That game is already sold out, so if you’d like to catch the Bruins in action, it’ll have to be on the 22nd against the Montreal Canadiens. Tickets are available for $24.
11/10/14 - Monday afternoon featured the Boston Bruins’ fifth victory in a row, scoring double what the New Jersey Devils did in each period for a final score of 2-4. Patrice Bergeron scored 1 point and put away 2 assists, Reilly Smith scored once and had another assist, and Boston’s goalie, Tuukka Rask, stopped 26 shots. The Bruins are up for a couple away games, starting with the Toronto Maple Leafs (8-5-2), but will return on the 15th for a home game against the Carolina Hurricanes who are at 5-6-3. Tickets are available and starting at $24.
11/4/14 - The Boston Bruins will be hosting the Edmonton Oilers this Thursday and there can be no doubt that they’re ready to extend their current winning streak. Not only would that fourth victory look great on paper, but it may just set the foundation for the Bruins to widen the gap between several other NHL competitors that are fighting hard to improve their standings. Turning around what was a bumpy start to the season, it appears that the Boston Bruins have stumbled upon the secret they needed to take control of the ice and start skating their way to a great year. Fans can still get in on the action as Bruins take on the Oilers. Ticket prices for this upcoming game start at $24, and numerous seating options are still up for the taking.

5/2/14 - If last nights Boston Bruins - Montreal Canadiens game was any indication of the way the rest of this series will play out we will be in for a treat. In a very physical Game 1 the Bruins started off on the wrong end of 2-0 lead before battling back in the 3rd Period and tying the game at three goals apiece before finally giving up a game winner in double overtime to lose the game 4-3. Game 2 of this series will take place and according to RazorGator the game is averaging $335.
5/1/14 - Tonight the Boston Bruins will play the Montreal Canadiens in the opening game of the second round at TD Garden. Bruins Captain Zdeno Chara netted a goal just seconds before the end of that period to put them ahead for good en route to winning the game 4-2. 4/23/14 - Last night the Boston Bruins went to Detroit to play Game 3 against the Red Wings. The Bruins got out to an early lead scoring two in the first which would be all they would need as Tuukka Rask saved everything that came his way but added an empty net goal in the third for good measure. If the Bruins win the series they will then go on to play their bitter rival the Montreal Canadiens in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
4/21/14 - The first round playoff matchup between the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings took a return to normalcy as the Bruins brought the physicality back to the series as they evened the series in Game 2. Friday will mark the first time these two franchises have met in the playoffs since 1957.
4/11/14 - For the second straight game the Boston Bruins needed to go to a shootout to determine the winner of the game and for the second straight time the Bruins lost in said shootout this time to the Winnipeg Jets. 4/10/14 - After a tough shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild who were riding high after finding out they had clinched a playoff spot midway through the game the Boston Bruins take back to the ice today to face off with the Winnipeg Jets. The Bruins will look to Jarome Iginla and David Krejci to provide the offense to the third best scoring team in the NHL.
4/9/14 - In order to beat a good team like the Boston Bruins you either have to play your best or get a little lucky. The Minnesota Wild were the latter of these two as they were able to score the game tying goal with a minute left in the third period and went on to earn the win in a shootout with Mikko Koivu scoring the lone goal.
4/8/14 - Tonight the Beasts of the East, the Boston Bruins play the Minnesota Wild with only four games remaining until the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin next week. 4/7/14 - When the Boston Bruins took the ice on Saturday they knew what was on the line with a win over the Philadelphia Flyers, to clinch the top seed in the Eastern Conference and home ice for the entire Stanley Cup Playoffs. 4/4/14 - The Boston Bruins played the Toronto Maple Leafs last night in a highly contest game and despite their furious comeback scoring two goals in the third period they were not able to earn the victory. 4/3/14 - Last night the NHL leading Boston Bruins had one of their most challenging games in recent memory when they played the Detroit Red Wings. 3/31/14 - The Bruins swept the weekend, defeating the Capitals in Washington 4-2 on Saturday and then outlasting the Flyers in a shootout in Philadelphia 4-3 yesterday. Then yesterday, Tuuka Rask stopped a whopping 49 shots to hold on to the slimmest of victories against Philly.
3/28/14 - In their highly anticipated matchup with Chicago Blackhawks the Boston Bruins made sure to not let this game get out of hand the way it did last time Chicago came to the TD Garden. This time the Bruins were the ones able to score twice in under 20 seconds in the third to put them up 3 nil which would stand as the final score.
3/27/14 - Tonight the Boston Bruins will be out for revenge when they host the Chicago Blackhawks for the first time since Chicago won the Stanley Cup on their home ice in Game 6 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. The Bruins gave up two goals in the final 76 seconds of the game to lose the cup and will be certain to make sure that doesn’t happen again tonight.
3/26/14 - The Boston Bruins are still one of the best teams in the NHL because of how they continually have a young crop of talent who play like seasoned pros. One such player is defenseman Kevan Miller who has brought a great deal of toughness to the team when they have called him up this season despite it being his first in the NHL. The Bruins will now prepare for a Stanley Cup Finals rematch against the Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow night.
3/25/14 - The Boston Bruins impressive win streak finally came to an end last night at 12. The Bruins were hopeful to push the streak to 13 games last night but their rivals the Montreal Canadiens. 3/20/14 - After picking up their very impressive 10th straight win Tuesday night against the Boston Bruins are enjoying a nice rest from the grind of the hockey season. The B’s can attribute a lot of their most recent success to Jarome Iginla who has been the catalyst for this win streak and has scored six goals in the last five games alone. Boston are off until Friday night when the very tough Colorado Avalanche on the road in Denver.
3/19/14 - Over the past couple weeks there has been no team in the NHL than the Boston Bruins who went for their tenth straight win last night against the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center. 3/18/14 - At this pace the Boston Bruins may never lose again after picking up their ninth straight victory in a 4-1 romp over the Minnesota Wild on Monday night. 3/14/14 - Winning is a habit, at least for the Boston Bruins who picked up their seventh straight victory last night against the Phoenix Coyotes. The B’s were able to convert chances early with Zdeno Chara and Jarome Iginla scoring in the first period which was all the scoring they needed as Tuukka Rask was able to stop all but one shot for a final score of 2-1. The Bruins will now return to Boston to play the Carolina Hurricanes tomorrow.
3/13/14 - The Boston Bruins came to play last night and were able to give the Montreal Canadiens a taste of their own medicine. The Bruins have not beaten the Canadiens in their last five meetings which makes this victory all that much sweeter. The B’s got out to an early lead scoring three goals in the second and never looked back en route to a 4-1 win over the Habs last night in the Bell Centre.
3/12/14 - The Boston Bruins will cross the border today to play the Montreal Canadiens tonight at the Belle Centre. The Bruins have struggled against the Habs in their last few meetings but hope to change that as they have been on a tear racking up 22 goals in their last few games.
3/11/14 - The Boston Bruins enjoyed a nice day of rest yesterday after playing, and winning, two games back to back in Florida over the weekend against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers respectively. 3/10/14 - This was one of the better weekends for the Boston Bruins as they were able to win both of their road games in Florida. 3/4/14 - The Boston Bruins lead the Atlantic Division this season and last night were able to win a very tough road game against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, winning by a score of 6-2. 3/3/14 - The Bruins visited Madison Square Garden on Sunday for a matchup with conference rival New York and were able to depart with two points after a rousing 6-3 win. J.T. Miller started the scoring for the Rangers, but the bruins would score three unanswered with goals by Jarome Iginla, Dougie Hamilton, and Carl Soderberg. Brad Richards would add another goal before the end of the second, but Gregory Campbell scored twice in the third to give the Bruins an insurmountable lead. 2/18/14 – The Bruins have five players in Sochi - Zdeno Chara, Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, Tuukka Rask and Loui Eriksson. Before the break, Boston finished 8-1-2 in the last 11 games, including a 7-2 drowning of the Ottawa Senators. The Bruins resume play Feb 26 in Buffalo before returning to Boston Mar 1 against the Capitals. Boston Bruin tickets in the home stretch are averaging $215; the first game back after the Olympics is the most expensive as Bruins tickets are averaging $259.
2/3/14 – The Bruins are anxiously awaiting the Canucks arrival in Boston as the two 2011 Stanley Cup Final opponents look to renew their rivalry. With both team’s rosters made up of members from the 2011 squads, and Vancouver defeating Boston in their last two meetings, it’s obvious why this highly anticipated matchup is averaging $126 at TD Garden. Will the intensity of the game lead to fights, ejections, and ultimate hatred against one another? Flashback to Jan 7, 2012, the first regular-season game following the Bruins first Stanley Cup Championship in 39 years, and you’ll recall just that. Return to the Garden Saturday when the Sens take the ice against the Bruins for a pricier $233 average, $125 get-in.
1/29/14 – The current Atlantic Division leaders have won four straight including a convincing win over the Panthers last night. Boston Bruins 2014-2015 Season
Despite finishing the regular season with the NHL’s best record and being awarded the President’s Trophy, the Boston Bruins crumbled in the postseason, just one year after making it to the Stanley Cup Final a season before. The Bruins were built to take it all the way again, but instead saw an early exit, bounced in the second round of playoffs by their rivals, the Montreal Canadiens. The Bruins enter the 2014-2015 season eager to maintain their elite status in the Eastern Conference, but with a new-look squad.
This offseason saw the departure of Shawn Thornton, Chad Johnson, Andrej Meszaros and most importantly, Jarome Iginla. Boston intends to fill these holes with their highly touted prospects ready to hit the ice with full-time roles. Youngsters Jordan Caron, Ryan Spooner and Alexander Khokhlachev should provide due coverage for Boston’s key departures, and will thrive under the tutelage of David Krejci, Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. Boston is still $800,000+ over the salary cap, meaning a trade in the 2014-2015 season is imminent.
Will the built-tough Bruins finish first in their division and take the Atlantic title for the fourth time in five seasons? Get your Boston Bruins tickets now to find out! Moreso than ever, the goal to get the Cup will be stronger than ever, and the desire to seek vengeance for their would-be title will power them through the Eastern Conference again. Peter Chiarelli’s fierce team team kicks off the 2014-2015 season on Oct. 8 against the Philadelphia Flyers at TD Garden. See ferocity on the ice when Montreal visits on Nov. 22, followed by Chicago on Dec. 11 and the defending Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings on Jan 31.
After finishing the 2012-13 season just two wins away from winning their second Stanley Cup in three years, the Bruins look to return to the Stanley Cup Finals again in 2014. After trading promising, but frustrating centre Tyler Seguin this offseason, the Bruins acquired 6-time NHL All-Star Jerome Iginla. Average price for a game at TD Garden this coming season is now $223. The Bruins will look for revenge against the Chicago Blackhawks at home on 3/27 in their most expensive game of the season, averaging $307.
