US Open Golf 2015 News and Updates

2014 Season

5/28/14 - With the US Open just three weeks away, Tiger Woods confirmed the universal suspicion he would withdraw from his sixth major as he recovers from back surgery-- a procedure that has kept him out of competition for nearly three months. Irish import Shane Lowry finished one stroke behind Rory McIlroy at the BMW PGA Championship in England, while Adam Scott claimed victory in Texas. The three are among the top 60 ranked men in the world that will be awarded a US Open berth without having to qualify. US Open sectional qualifying is underway with a record number 10,127 players competing for a place at Pinehurst No. 2 in June. The 18-hole local qualifier was held in over 100 locales, with advanced players reaching the current 36-hole qualifier. While making it to Pinehurst No. 2 is the first step, Phil Mickelson is letting everyone know they'll have to get through him too. The optimistic veteran sent out the warning: "I'm going to win at least one US Open, maybe two." Get your US Open Golf tickets and see startups and veterans alike compete in this all-important summer grand slam! US Open All Week Passes run from $185-$1068.

5/1/14 - Six-time US Open runner-up Phil Mickelson, previous winner Webb Simpson, Masters runner-up Jonas Blixt and other world class players are currently in North Carolina to tee off in the Wells Fargo Championship Golf Tournament—just two hours away from Pinehurst No. 2, the 2014 US Open destination. These veterans and upstarts alike would undoubtedly like to try out the new Pinehurst No. 2, which has been redesigned without the rough—but that doesn't mean hazards like hard & soft sand, wire grass and pine needles won't pose ample threats for these pros. This year, the field for the US Open is bigger and grander than ever, with a record 10,127 golfers entering their name for consideration—see who's there in early June with US Open tickets! US Open All Week Passes start at $396 for Gallery. All-Week Grounds passes begin at $571, while Trophy Club Passes (with access to VIP tents and grounds) are as low at $673 for seven days at Pinehurst Resort.

US Open Golf 2015 Season

2014 Season

The US Open Golf Tournament is held at a different location annually, this year it will commence at the beautiful Pinehurst Resort and Country Club (N.C.) with an all new scheme. For the first time, the Open will host a double header: the US Open and Women’s Open will go back-to-back in June of this year, and in what better venue than at legendary Pinehurst No. 2? The US Open will take place June 12-15, followed by the US Women’s Open from June 19-22. US Open Golf tickets are averaging $912 for an all-week pass, but you can get into the Gallery for $444 Monday through Sunday. This year, many are flocking to the luscious Pinehurst gardens and conveniently staying for both tournaments.

The last time Pinehurst hosted the US Open, Michael Campbell shot par to effectively defeat Tiger Woods by two strokes almost 10 years ago. The women were there in ’07, when Christie Kerr took the title. This year presents a great opportunity for the women to go toe-to-toe against the men on the same big-name course. Much talk this year surrounds Phil Mickelson on his course to completing a career Grand Slam—the only title missing being the US Open. Despite some spectacular play, Mickelson has never won the US Open to which he recently stated, “I actually believe I’ll win a couple,” starting in 2014. See how the best of the best fare on one of the most legendary courses in the world, when you secure US Open Golf tickets today!
