Whither RG3? Fans of that unifying force in the National Capital Region, the Washington Redskins, have their fingers crossed that Robert Griffin III, the star quarterback who lifted the Skins all the way to the NFC East championship and their first postseason win in years, will be fully recovered by the time the season starts in earnest in September. And, by all indications, Skins fans should get their wish.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins tickets to the Monday Night Football home opener on September 9th start at only $48 in the 400 level. 100 level tickets range from $114 in the end zones up to $687 at the 50-yard line on the Redskins sideline.
Griffin was a strong presence at spring organized team activities (OTAs), and his rehab is well on track. However, should there be a setback, Burgundy-and-Gold fans can take heart that Kirk Cousins, another second year QB, can move the ball. Also hoping to avoid the sophomore jinx is surprising running back Alfred Morris, who ran for a team rookie record 1613 yards last season. Leading wide receiver Pierre Garcon is also looking for increased success in the Skins offense. On the other side of the ball, the Redskins hope to get back their key linebacker, Brian Orakpo, who returns after successful surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle. Special teams feature kicker Kai Forbath, who set an NFL record last year with 17 straight made field goals to start his NFL career; and Saverio (Sav) Rocca, an Aussie Rules footballer turned booming NFL punter.
