Jacksonville Jaguars 2014 News and Updates

2/13/14 – Jaguars GM David Caldwell can be very aggressive in free agency with close to $30M in cap room to play with. There’s no question that Jacksonville needs a quarterback, and with a third overall pick, Johnny Manziel is looking like the best option for the Jags should he still be on the market. Manziel would bring a competitive spirit and a fire to drive this team to its greatest potential. Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne combined for 21 interceptions in 2013 and neither was able to fully take over the reins. The Jaguars last playoff run was seven years ago and since, have not been better than .500. Can Jacksonville continue down the right path to improvement? Second-year head coach, Gus Bradley, has the team headed in the right direction after his rookie campaign.

2013 Season

12/17/13 - The Jacksonville Jaguars lost to the Buffalo Bills, 27-20, effectively cutting short their win streak to three games. Even though this was Jax’s first loss that wasn’t a blowout (losing by less than double digits) the Jaguars made the same unnecessary turnovers, messy tackles and miscues they have overcome from early in the season. Looking to tighten up and bounce back, Jacksonville Jaguars tickets are the cheapest Sunday game by a landslide, a mere $39 on average when they host the Tennessee Titans.

12/10/13 - The Jacksonville Jaguars spoiled the Houston Texans’ attempt at redemption with a tremendous 27-20 victory at home for last week's Thursday Night Football. After winning their last four of five games, the Jags are astonishingly included in playoff talk; provided a handful of miracles, some major upsets and a win-out scenario. The fact that postseason is within the realm of possibility is laudable enough for a team that started off 0-8, but the Jags will need all the support they can get when they face the Buffalo Bills this Sunday, sans star RB Maurice Jones-Drew (hamstring injury). Jacksonville Jaguars tickets are one of the lowest priced games of the week, at $58 on average.

12/3/13 - For the first time in three years, the Jacksonville Jaguars have won back-to-back games, following their dramatic victory over the Cleveland Browns (32-28). The winning touchdown came with 40 seconds left in the game when Chad Henne lobbed a 20-yard pass to Cecil Shorts (Cleveland native), who held onto the ball for the score. There’s no denying that while JAX has improved immensely, the Houston Texans have been a train wreck, and the two will go head to head this week. Be there to see if the Jaguars can attain their 3rd straight win! Jacksonville Jaguars tickets are the cheapest game of the week by far: a measly $5 to get in and an unbelievable $28 on average!

11/26/13 - Things are looking up for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who achieved a convincing defeat over the atrocious Houston Texans on Sunday, 13-6. The Jaguars handed the Texans their ninth straight loss with the help of Maurice Jones-Drew, who ran for a season-high 84 yards and a touchdown, and Josh Scobee who kicked two field goals to secure the victory for the second time in three games. Jacksonville Jaguars tickets are the bargain of the week, at just $12 to get in and $42 on average against the Cleveland Browns this weekend!

11/19/13- The Jacksonville Jaguars fell to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, unable to follow-up last week’s win with another. For fans, the highlight of the game came when the Jaguars scored their first touchdown pass in Jacksonville this year, but despite taking the early lead (up 14 points in the first quarter) the team was unable to maintain possession. Next week, the spiraling Houston Texans host the Jaguars, presenting a winnable game for JAX, who may hand Houston their 10th straight loss. Jacksonville Jaguars tickets are only $10 to get in!

11/12/13 - No longer winless! On Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars bested the Tennessee Titans on the road, 29-27. Maurice Jones-Drew and Jordan Todman ran for touchdowns, and the Jaguars held off the Titans’ fourth quarter rally, finally putting an end to the 13 game losing streak accrued since last season. While postseason hopes are dashed, the locker room is a ‘buzz with high spirits and new optimism. Can Jacksonville bust out their second win of the year against the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday? Tickets are as low as $5 to find out!

11/5/13 - The Jacksonville Jaguars were sent into their bye week without a number in the win column, at 0-8. This week, receiver Justin Blackmon has been suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, a problem that has followed him from Oklahoma State into the NFL. This loss will hurt a team that is already down, as Blackmon was a key producer on offense. They will come out of the bye pushing for their first win of the season, when they take on the Tennessee Titans at LP Field this Sunday. Jacksonville Jaguars tickets are just $15 to get in and $77 on average.

10/29/13 - In front of a boisterous Wembley Stadium crowd on Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars were unanimously creamed by the San Francisco 49ers. It seems not even playing in London on neutral ground can jumpstart the Jaguars, who have all but flat-lined on the year. They could have seriously used a win before heading into their bye, but Jacksonville's pass rush was ineffective in corralling Colin Kaepernick, who completed 54 yards rushing, 164 passing, and sacked zero times and the run defense came in last in the league. On a brighter note, Maurice Jones-Drew had a good showing, and finished with 75 yards on 19 carries and 6 catches. At the halfway mark, the toughest part of their season is over, as the Jags will face the Texans, Browns, and Bills in upcoming weeks. They will be pitted against the Tennessee Titans at LP Field on the other side of the bye (Nov 10).

10/22/13 - The Jacksonville Jaguars have perpetuated their win drought, dropping to 0-7 on the season, after a clobbering by the San Diego Chargers. The Jaguars watered down hopes of reviving their season after a virtuous performance against the Denver Broncos last week, and they were unable to put up double digits or a fighting chance over Philip Rivers and San Diego’s unrelenting defense in Week 7. The Jaguars will look for their first win over the San Francisco 49ers across the pond at Wembley Stadium next week, and they could really use a win before their bye in Week 9. Jacksonville Jaguars tickets have boosted in price at $189 on average (compared to just $36 last week) when they play in front of another colossal crowd in London, for the NFL’s second international game this season.

10/16/13 - The Jacksonville Jaguars put up an extremely valiant showing against the undefeated Denver Broncos on Sunday’s game despite talk of an all over blowout. The Jaguars even out gained the Broncos in yards in the first half and showed some kinks in Peyton Manning and the Bronco’s offensive machine before falling to a 19-35 loss. Highlights of the game come from quarterback Chad Henne, who made his 10th career 300-yard game and receiver Justin Blackmon, who had 14 catches for 190 yards. There is hope yet for the Jacksonville Jaguars as they will next host a groggy San Diego Chargers (flying across the country after a Monday night game) on Sunday. Jacksonville Jaguars tickets feature the second lowest minimum price of the week at $8 and the cheapest average ticket price at $36.

10/8/13 - Yet again, the Jacksonville Jaguars have all but cemented their place at the bottom of the barrel in the AFC and the entire league, scoring just 51 points in five games. The Jaguars were defeated on the road by the St. Louis Rams in a messy Sunday showing, but the team played a more commendable game than their four previous games, losing 20-34. Maurice Jones-Drew made an explosive display, and Justin Blackmon debuted with a 67 yard rushing touchdown and 5 catches for 136 yards. Unfortunately, potential for redemption has been further snuffed out, with the injury of Jaguars’ No.2 overall pick Luke Joeckel (broken ankle), and quarterback Blaine Gabbert’s strained hamstring injury. The Jaguars will move on to play the Denver Broncos at Mile High in Denver. Tickets to witness an odds-on Jacksonville Jaguars hammering at the hands of Peyton Manning are a pricey $225 and $100 to get in.

10/1/13 - The Jacksonville Jaguars are 0-4 after being annihilated by the Indianapolis Colts 37-3 on Sunday. Not only are they sitting at the bottom of the AFC South, but the Jaguars have consistently ranked #32 in the majority of Power Rankings through four games, and have all but cemented their dishonorable position as the worst team of 2013. Jacksonville has a point differential of minus-98 thus far, which is twice as bad at last season. What’s more, the Jaguars have had to begin a free-beer-with-a-ticket promotion to boost sales for a team that has not ranked higher than 20th in NFL’s attendance ranking. The Jacksonville Jaguar’s schedule will be relentless in upcoming weeks, when they play the Denver Broncos, San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers. For Week 5, the Jaguars will travel to St. Louis to play the Rams; ticket prices are extremely low, at just $8 to get in.

9/25/13 - With losses that were more like blowouts than competitive play, the Jacksonville Jaguars are another team with a dubious 0-3 records to start off the season. Things may be looking up for the Jaguars to salvage their season, as starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert will be returning in Week 4 from a hand laceration injury he suffered in their first game. The Jaguars are hoping to change their winless history, coming off of a 2-14 record last season, when they play the 2-1 Indianapolis Colts at EverBank Field this Sunday in Florida. Prices for this game are low, averaging at $34, and just $14 to get in.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2014 Season

2013 Season

The Jaguars have nowhere to go but up following a season that saw them finish 2-14 and tie for the worst record in the NFL. While the team did not add any major free agents this offseason, they believe new coach Gus Bradley will breathe new life into the franchise. Many fans hoped for the acquisition of Tim Tebow, but they will instead be forced to root for major improvement from third-year quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert should expect more support this season from running back Maurice Jones-Drew, who led the NFL in rushing yards in 2011, but played in only five games last season. The average price for Jaguars tickets to regular season home games this season is $114, fourth-lowest in the NFL and 40% below the league average.
