Oregon Ducks Football 2014 News and Updates
11/20/14 - One of the best teams in the nation, currently ranked 2nd, is the Oregon Ducks. They have one of the most dynamic offenses, and opponents are having a hard time of dealing with them. This was the case this last weekend, where they faced Utah. Oregon ended up with a dominant win, with a final score of 51-27. The Ducks’ quarterback, Marcus Mariota had a lights-out game. He ended up throwing for 239 yards and had 3 touchdowns. He was also a threat scrambling, getting 114 rushing yards with 1 touchdown. He’s one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in football right now, and he and his team are poised to win a national championship. Up next for them is a game against Colorado. This shouldn’t be a difficult game for them, but they can’t let up at this point in the season. Tickets for the game can be purchased right now. They are starting out at a low $52.
11/13/14 - Last week, the Oregon Ducks took on Utah, in what was a must-win game for them. They ended up pulling off a dominant win, with the final score being 51-27. At first, things didn’t look too good for them. They were down 7, but when a Utah player dropped the ball before reaching the end zone, an Oregon player picked it up and ran it back for a touchdown. From that point on, the game shifted in favor of the Ducks. In their win, Ducks’ quarterback Marcus Mariota went on to throw for 239 yards, throwing for 3 touchdowns and rushing for 1. He was dynamic as he’s ever been, and it’s play like this that is keeping the Ducks in the running for a National title. Up next for them is a game against Colorado. They are favored big, but they still need to look sharp, especially since the playoffs are almost upon them. Tickets for the game are available right now, which start out at $59.
11/6/14 - Fans of the Oregon Ducks should be feeling pleased by their team's victory so far this year. Their streak continued in the recent game against Stanford, with the Ducks winning at 45-16. This makes for their fourth straight win after their close victory over the California Gold Bears. On a night when Mariota's passing performance wasn't as sharp as usual, the Ducks made up for it in the running game, gaining 267 yards in all. One of the standouts was Royce Freeman, finishing up with 98 yards to his name. Their next game is set for November 22, when they play the Colorado Buffaloes. See it live and cheer for their winning streak to continue, with tickets starting at $41.
10/30/14 - It has been an exciting season for the Oregon Ducks. Going into their game against the California Golden Bears they had a winning record of 6-1. Wanting to continue their winning streak, they took it to the Bears beating them at a whopping 59-41. The first half was close in numbers, ending it at 31-28 for the Ducks. Quickly after the second half began the Oregon Ducks were able to pull away from the Golden Bears, solidifying their lead touchdown, by touchdown. The quarterback, Mariota was on a roll and completed 18 of 30 passes, contributing to the five touchdowns that were thrown. Watch some Oregon Ducks football on November 1, 2014 at the Autzen Stadium. Tickets to see them play Stanford start at $47.
9/18/14 - The No. 2 Oregon Ducks are certainly living up to their preseason ranking, with a 3-0 record and resounding victories over South Dakota, Michigan State and Wyoming. Marcus Mariota and Co. have scored at least 46 points in each outing thus far, and will look to extend this winning momentum onto the road for the first time of the season. Don’t anticipate the Ducks to tarnish their pristine record this Saturday when Oregon opens up their Pac-12 schedule, as the program has amassed an 11-2 record in their last 13 conference road matchups. Don the Green and Yellow on 9/20 and score Oregon Ducks tickets for as little as $42 when they take on the Cougars in Washington!
7/30/14 – Oregon Ducks Football will open their season in no less than four weeks! After last week’s Pac-12 conference came to a close, Oregon emerged as the media’s pick to win the conference championship game for the fourth time in five years—favored over two0time defending champion Stanford 37-2. The Pac-12 championship will play at Levi’s Stadium on Dec. 5, the first year it will be played at a neutral location. But first, the Ducks will have to power through their regular season schedule, which starts with a nonconference game against the South Dakota Coyotes on Aug. 30. Say you were there from the start and score Oregon Ducks tickets at Autzen Stadium for as little as $13.
7/9/14 – It’s clear that each year, the Oregon Ducks pose a formidable football power in the Pac-12—but now they just might rake in star power as well. Hip-hop heavyweight Snoop Dogg’s son, Cordell Broadus, is developing into one of the hottest prospects of the upcoming year, and he’s interested in a spot on Oregon’s roster. Despite already having 15 scholarship offers from the likes of USC, UCLA, Florida State, Oregon State and more, the consensus top 15 wide receiver is hoping to hear a duck call soon. Imagine buying Oregon Ducks tickets and winding up next to Snoop Dogg cheering on his talented son, lock your seats down today!
6/20/14 – Oregon Ducks Football knew very well they had a fast player on their hands in Devon Allen, but did they know how fast? The wide receiver was selected in the top 10 of fastest players in college football this year, but the speed demon recently competed and won the 110-meter hurdles at the NCAA Track & Field Championships—scoring the second-fastest time ever posted by a college athlete. The Ducks are returning 14 of their starters in total, figuring one of the most veteran lineups in the Pac-12; will the school debut the speedster (who red-shirted last year) as a fellow starter? Allen says “its still football first,” so see if he can tear up the gridiron this season with Oregon Ducks Football tickets!
5/27/14 – Four former Ducks were selected in the 2014 NFL Draft and two – Josh Huff and Taylor Hart – will join Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles. Not to worry about, the Ducks are stacked with young talent coming in and are No.2 in Sporting News’ preseason top 25. If Oregon wants the best chance at playing in the inaugural College Football Playoff, they’ll have to get passed No.6 Stanford (avg. $215) early in the season at home and No.8 UCLA on the road. Catch Marcus Mariota get his 2014 Heisman campaign underway at the home-opener against defending Rose Bowl Champions Michigan State Spartans. Oregon vs. MSU tickets are averaging $242 and are the most expensive of any game on the Ducks football schedule in 2014. Cheap Oregon Ducks tickets are available later in the season when the Colorado Buffaloes (avg. $97), Wyoming Cowboys (avg. $73), and South Dakota Coyotes (avg. $64) visit Eugene.
4/23/14 – Oregon’s top receiver Bralon Addison who made 61 catches for 890 yards with seven TDs last fall, tore his ACL. Not to fret Ducks fans, the coaching staff has a plan: insert Johnathan Loyd who just finished his basketball career as a point guard for the University. The former high school football receiver has proved himself in spring practices with his speed and hands and will add depth to Oregon’s receiving corps. Your first chance to see Loyd and the Ducks in action is August 30 when the South Dakota Coyotes visit Autzen Stadium. Oregon Ducks football tickets are just $29 for the home opener. The following weekend, Oregon will host 2013 Rose Bowl Champions, Michigan State Spartans one of the best non-conference matchups in the nation. Ducks tickets for the September 6 meeting range from $146 - $936.
2/6/14 - After a great 8-0 start, the Oregon Ducks were expected to make a run at a national championship title. Instead, they struggled in their last couple games to finish with a 10-2 season (7-2 Pac 12), for this to be considered a “down” season says something about the prestige of the program. The Ducks ended the year on a high note, capping off with an Alamo Bowl victory against rival Texas for a #9 ranking. With the departure of speedy De-Anthony Thomas to the NFL Draft, the Ducks have themselves covered with a talented 4-stars Tony James and Royce Freeman suiting up. Marcus Mariota, ranked second in the nation behind Jameis Winston in total QBR (90.1), foregoes the pros for another season, as he returns to the Ducks for his junior year! On the other side of the ball, the Ducks welcomed 4-star corner Arrion Springs, after the early leave of Terrance Mitchell and the graduation of safeties Brian Johnson and Avery Patterson. With so much incoming talent, and a matured QB returning, the Ducks are primed for another terrific season. Get your Oregon Ducks tickets and see if they can take it all the way this time!
10/29/13 – The Ducks ranked No. 3 in the initial BCS rankings but jumped up a spot after a 42-14 win over UCLA last weekend. The crucial No. 2 position sets Oregon up nicely for a BCS National Championship berth, should the rest of the season play out as well as the first has. Mark Helfrich's team still has to face Stanford on the road; but a win against their Pac-12 North foes, would land them in their second Pac-12 Championship game and an almost sure win over their South competitor. With multiple tricks up their sleeves, don’t be surprised if the quack continue their attack straight to a Conference title and compete for the school’s first National Championship in football.
Oregon Ducks Football 2014 Season
For the Oregon Ducks, the last few years have been ones of unfulfilled expectations – always highly-regarded before the season, but either due to an unexpected result on the field, or due to injury, those preseason expectations are never met. 2014, in addition to being head coach Mark Helfrich’s second campaign, will be the final season as a Duck for highly-regarded quarterback Marcus Mariota, frequently mentioned as a Heisman Trophy candidate. This season will bring in the usual parade of Pac-12 opponents, but an early visitor to Autzen Stadium in ’14 will be a B1G one – Michigan State.
After the departure of head coach Chip Kelly to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Ducks look to extend their impressive streak of four consecutive BCS game appearances, without missing a beat. In hopes of a seamless transition, Oregon found a new head coach within the program in offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich. While the Ducks success under Kelly is unparalleled in the program’s history, Herlfrich will attempt to lead Oregon to its first national title. The Ducks return redshirt sophomore quarterback Marcus Mariota, who will continue to lead the high-powered, up-tempo offense. Average price for Oregon Ducks football tickets at Autzen Stadium this season is $149, 15th most expensive in the country and top in the Pac-12.
Oregon's season kicks off on 8/31 against FCS opponent Nichols State and is averaging $71, the lowest of any Oregon Ducks game in 2013. The annual Civil War game against rival Oregon State Beavers will be played in Eugene to end the regular season on 11/29. At an average Oregon St. vs. Oregon tickets price of $285 it is the most expensive home game on the Oregon Ducks football schedule this season by over $125. The Ducks will look to avenge their only loss last year on 11/7 versus the Stanford Cardinal. The Stanford vs. Oregon game last season effectively eliminated the Ducks from the BCS Championship conversation after the Ducks lost in overtime. They hope that this season, a win will help vault them into a spot in the 2014 BCS National Championship game.
