Mississippi State Bulldogs Football 2015 News and Updates

2014 Season

12/12/14 - While many might consider the 2014 season a disappointment for the Mississippi State Bulldogs football team, there is still a silver lining. The Bulldogs, who started off the season unranked, climbed as high as number one in the country, before falling to the Alabama Crimson Tide late in the season. During the last week of the regular season, the Bulldogs showed up to the Egg Bowl and lost to in-state rival Ole Miss. Despite the two losses, the Bulldogs finished ranked eighth in the country, and accepted an invitation to the play in the Orange Bowl on December 31st. The Bulldogs will have a chance to redeem their season against the (10) Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, who also ended the season with a loss. Tickets for the bowl game are on sale now, with prices starting at $8. For once last chance to see Mississippi State redeem their season, purchase tickets now.

12/3/14 - After being ranked in the top 4 for much of the 2014 college football season, the last week of regular season play was a sad day for Mississippi State Bulldogs football. The Bulldogs were serious contenders to appear in the inaugural college football playoffs. However, their post-season hopes were crushed in a 17-31 upset to the Ole Miss Rebels in the in-state rivalry Egg Bowl. MSU faltered scoring 20 points less than its 2014 season average. Had they persevered, the Bulldogs were within striking distance of achieving a conference championship for the first time since 1941. With losses to both Alabama and Ole Miss an SEC title is simply out of reach. On the bright side, MSU had a thrilling 10-2 season, will likely play again in a post-season bowl game, and raised the stature of Mississippi State college football nationally.

11/26/14 - A dominant team in college football right now is the Mississippi State Bulldogs. They have looked sharp this season, sporting a 9-1 record. Against Alabama, they were hoping to keep up their winning ways, but it was not meant to be. They ended up losing with a final score of 20-25. It was a hard-fought loss, but they should still keep their heads up high. In their loss, Dak Prescott went on to throw for 290 yards with 2 touchdowns. He did have 3 interceptions, though, and this really prevented his team from getting anything going on the offensive end. Up next for them is a game against Vanderbilt, a team they are very capable of beating. Tickets for the game are available now, and the starting price is $15.

11/21/14 - The Mississippi State Bulldogs were rolling in their division. They were even the number ranked team in college football. Good things have to come to an end, however, which was the case when they faced Alabama. It was a hard-fought game, but they ended up losing with a final score of 20-25. They nearly came back and won it in the fourth quarter. In their loss, Dak Prescott went on to throw for 290 yards and had 2 touchdowns. However, it was the turnovers that killed him, and he had 3 crucial ones. If they want to reassert themselves as the best team in college football, Dak will need to adjust his play and make better decisions down the stretch. They will also need to stop the run better, as Alabama seemed to control the tempo with their rushing attack. Up next for them is a game against Vanderbilt, which is a must-win game for them. Tickets for the game start out at $19.

11/12/14 - The Mississippi State Bulldogs Football team is having a great season. Currently, the Bulldogs are undefeated after nine games in the West Division. They won last Saturday’s game against the UTM Skyhawks, taking an early lead and never giving it up. This coming Saturday, the Bulldogs visit Alabama to play the Crimson Tide at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Crimson Tide is in 2nd place in the division, with an 8-1 record. Alabama has a long record of success, but Mississippi is working hard to get the most out of their talented players. The Bulldogs need to win to prove that it’s going to be hard to burst their bubble. Come out to see them play and cheer them on when you get your tickets for this battle between two strong teams.

11/5/14 - The college football season is wrapping up, but Mississippi State Bulldogs Football still has a few of games for fans to enjoy. The top-ranked team in the SEC is still undefeated in conference play, with the 17-10 win against rival Arkansas last week keeping the school ahead of Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss. Some of the Bulldog’s most recent wins have been anything but beautiful, but the team continues to chug along, leaving the other schools in their wake. Fans of the Mississippi State football program can see the team in action this Saturday as they take on the University of Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks at their home, Scott Field. Tickets for the match up are still available for purchase, with prices starting at $27 per ticket.
