2/6/14 - The Kansas State Wildcats finished their 8-5 season with a bang: first, defeating in-state rivals, Kansas, in the Sunflower Showdown and later rolling over Michigan in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. The Wildcats were invited to their fourth straight BCS bowl game, and their win granted them their first bowl win out of their previous four. Though K-State’s strong offense suffered blows with WR Tyler Lockett and former WR-turned-QB Collin Klein leaving to the NFL Draft, Kansas is heading into the new season with the best recruiting class they’ve had in years! The huge class of 28 commits rates two 4-star prospects, twelve 3-stars and 13 in the top 44 of their position. Veteran HC Bill Snyder is a firm believer in community college recruits providing immediate help where they need it most, and he’s got 9 talented guys coming in to help fill the void left by six senior starters on defense. 11/18/13 – The Wildcats head into Week 13 against Big 12 co-champions, Oklahoma Sooners, with four straight wins. Saturday’s victory over TCU allowed K-State to be bowl eligible, becoming the fourth Big 12 team to secure a bowl game with a 2-4 or worse start. It was Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson’s return to his alma mater. Kansas State has emerged into of the hottest teams in College Football of late and their turnaround would certainly be cemented with a win over Oklahoma this weekend in front of a home crowd. Don’t let the polls fool you; Coach Bill Snyder’s teams are known to finish better than expected. And, Snyder doesn’t do it loudly; there are rarely flashy moves that cause a lot of attention on the field, instead the Wildcats will grind it out all season.
