Clemson Tigers Football News - 2013 Clemson Football Updates
10/25/13 - Clemson is trying to put a tough loss to #5 Florida State behind them as they enter the final lap of the season. To start the year, the Tigers ousted then #5 Georgia and had been undefeated until they met the Seminoles. Although their BCS National Championship hopes may have been put to rest, the Clemson Tigers are optimistic to be part of a second BCS bowl game in three years. In order to get there, the Tigers will need a win against in-state rival, South Carolina Gamecocks
, in the season closer. Clemson will play on the road; the Orange have not beaten the Gamecocks in Columbia since 2007. But be assured that senior Tajh Boyd will play his heart out in the quarterback’s final regular season game in College. Clemson still has a shot at the ACC Championship
game but they must win this weekend against Maryland, and then beat Virginia and Georgia Tech. In addition, they’ll need some help from the Seminoles; two losses in their final four games would give the Tigers an opportunity.
9/4/13 - After starting the 2013 season with a win against a top five team, Clemson looks like a bona fide national title contender. Quarterback Tajh Boyd came up big in the clutch against LSU in last year's Chick-fil-A Bowl
, and picked up where he left with an impressive opening performance against another SEC powerhouse in Georgia
. If Boyd keeps up his stellar performance, he can expect to be invited to the Heisman Trophy ceremony and hear his name called very early at the 2014 NFL Draft. With the combination of Boyd and junior receiver Sammy Watkins, a two-time First-team All American, the Tigers have one of the most potent offenses in the country.
The average price for the remaining 2013 games at Memorial Stadium is $94. The ACC showdown against Jameis Winston and the Florida State Seminoles
is the most expensive, averaging $250. The least expensive games in Death Valley this season comes on 9/7 against South Carolina St. and 11/23 against The Citadel. The Palmetto Bowl against in-state rival South Carolina is on 11/30 at Williams Brice Stadium, and is averaging $252. If the Tigers can get through the season without any blemishes, they’ll travel to Charlotte for the ACC Championship Game
and possibly on to Miami for the Orange Bowl or even Pasadena for the BCS National Championship Game.
