Auburn Tigers Football 2015 News and Updates

2014 Season

12/1/14 - College football enthusiasts were glued to their television sets last Saturday as the Auburn Tigers nearly upset the number one ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. The Tigers were ahead 36-27 at one point in the Iron Bowl, but the Crimson Tide came from behind scoring 28 consecutive points to win the game. After settling for field goals on five separate trips to the red zone, the Tigers were burned time and time again by Alabama’s star running back, Amari Cooper. The final Iron Bowl score was 55-44. Auburn ends the regular season with an 8-4 record, losing three SEC games in a row. However, the game was hard fought. Auburn’s quarterback Nick Marshall achieved school records of 456 yards passing and 505 total yards. Auburn Tigers football will rise again, and renew its playoff hopes next season.

11/26/14 - Last weekend, the Auburn Tigers took on a tough Georgia team. It was a game they were hoping to dominate, but they ended up losing with a final score of 7-34. They simply couldn’t pull the trigger on the offensive end, and they will need to make the adjustments if they want to rebound off this tough loss. In their loss, quarterback Nick Marshall only went on to throw for 112 yards with 1 interception. He will need to pick up his play in hopes of getting his team a win next weekend. Their defense will also need to stop the run better. Up next for them is a game against Samford. This is a very winnable game for them, and tickets are available now. They are starting out at $15.

11/20/14 - Last weekend, the Auburn Tigers took on Georgia. They were favored to win, but things didn’t go their way. They ended up losing with the final score being 7-34. It was a dominate loss, and they will need to adjust a lot of things both offensively and defensively in order to come out with a win next weekend. In their blowout-loss, their quarterback Nick Marshall only tacked on 112 yards and had 1 interception. He failed to do anything really substantial, and they will need him to pick it up if they want to turn their season around. A huge reason why they lost was because of their inability to stop the run. Georgia’s running back rushed for 144 yards and had 2 touchdowns. They will need to adjust their defensive scheme next weekend, which will be against Samford. Tickets for next weekend’s game can be bought now, and you can get them for $28.

11/10/14 - After a difficult loss to Texas A&M, the Auburn Tigers Football team is looking forward to beating the Georgia Bulldogs when they travel to Sanford Stadium in Athens, GA. Auburn won the 2013 game and lead the overall series in one of the deep South’s oldest football rivalries that started in 1892 when the teams first met. The Tigers lead the series at 55-54-8, and both teams will give their all to take this win home for their fans. If the Tigers don’t win, they may not have a chance to make the SEC Championship playoffs. You need to get your tickets to this hot game and support your team! Both the Bulldogs and the Tigers are going to be playing tough until the final minute.

11/3/14 - After their poor showing during the 2012 season, the Auburn Tigers have been making a big comeback so far this year. At this game the Tigers continued to display their penchant for close wins with a 35-31 victory away from home at Oxford, Mississippi. 10/27/14 - During the playoff game Saturday night, the Auburn Tigers football team pulled a win against the Mississippi Rebels. It was the first College Football Playoff knockout game of the season and it proved to be a close one with a final score of 35-31. Auburn linebacker Kris Frost forced a fumble in the end zone, which was recovered by Cassanova McKinzy. This was a major play that preserved the Tiger’s victory in the last quarter of the game. With this win, the Tigers, who are ranked fourth in the league, managed to knock the seventh-ranked Rebels out of the playoffs. With 507 yards gained against the top scoring defense in the league, the Tigers proved that they are going to be a tough competitor in the upcoming games. Auburn will face four SEC teams in as many weeks, starting October 25 against South Carolina, followed by Ole Miss and Texas A&M. At the tail end of the stretch lies back-to-back SEC road games at Georgia and Alabama.
