Arkansas Razorbacks Football 2015 News and Updates

2014 Season

10/27/14 - The Arkansas Razorbacks football team pulled an unbelievable win against the Alabama-Birmingham Blazers on Saturday. With a final score of 45-17, the Razorbacks have successfully and memorably broken their three-game losing streak. Jonathan Williams was the first to score, successfully completing a touchdown run during the first drive of the game. The most impressive highlight of the game was the touchdown pass made by Sebastian Tretola, a junior college transfer. This 350-pound offensive lineman threw a 6-yard pass to long snapper Alan D’Appollonio during the second quarter of the game, putting the score at 28-0. Although this is Tretola’s first season with the Razorbacks, he is proving himself to be a valuable player. Score tickets to the next game on November 15 at Razorback Stadium with prices starting at $41.

9/17/14 - We’re heading into the fourth week of College Football, and the Arkansas Razorbacks are undefeated at home and 3-1 on the year. Arkansas’ single loss of the season came in their road opener against Auburn. They made a significant statement with last week’s win over Texas Tech; Jonathan Williams ran for four touchdowns and Alex Collins put up two more in the 49-28 stunner. Up next, the Razorbacks are pitted against Northern Illinois at Fayetteville. See their uncompromising run play in action with Arkansas Razorbacks tickets today! Score seats this Saturday (9/20) for a minimum of $24 at Razorback Stadium.

8/6/14 – Arkansas Razorbacks Football kicked off their 2014 fall camp on Monday, throwing their pads on to practice at full speed in anticipation of their first game of the year. Arkansas will open their season in less than four weeks against a staunch opponent: the Auburn Tigers in Alabama. All eyes will be on this game that features the SEC Champions and national championship runner-ups against a team desperate to bounce back from their three-win season. Score Auburn vs. Arkansas Football tickets for as little as $62 on Saturday, Aug. 30 and be in the stands for this pivotal season opener yourself.

7/20/14 – You did it, Arkansas Razorback fans, the “Hog Call” has earned national distinction, and is now a trademark cheer. The coaching staff has taken special verbiage a bit further, implementing a new language dubbed “Hoganese” only to be uttered within the Razorbacks’ football facility. Bret Bielema believes this unique language will "become part of [the players'] DNA” and amply disguise tactics from other teams on the field, putting Arkansas at an even greater advantage. The players, too, are behind “Hoganese” and say the process has pulled the team even closer together. Score Arkansas Razorbacks tickets and see if you can tune into “Hoganese” yourself!

6/25/14 –Last week, ESPN ranked the best programs by positions, and guess which school pulled the biggest upset! Your Arkansas Razorbacks are the official “Running Back U” for the 2000s. Of course, Darren McFadden is the primary reason for the Razorbacks top position, but don’t forget about Felix Jones and Peyton Hills. Arkansas beat out Oklahoma (alma mater of Adrian Peterson) with their six former backs that have been drafted since 2001. See if this year’s duo of Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams can keep up the good work, and tradition, with Arkansas Razorbacks tickets today!

6/12/14 – Are you warmed up for Arkansas football? The returning Razorbacks will be at training camp in two weeks to link up with spring recruits. The only exception at this point in summer is the suspension of D’Arthur Cowan, who will sit out on team activities to focus on academics and eligibility. On the sunny side, analyst Phil Steele has included seven Razorbacks in his preseason All-SEC team: Trey Flowers, Jonathan Williams, Hunter Henry, Alex Collins, Brey Cook, Darius Philon and Sam Irwin-Hill. There is a host more talented players on the UA squad, with ample time left to hone their skills and make the All-SEC cut by the time fall rolls around!

6/4/14 – The Hogs defense is looking much improved this Spring. Last year Arkansas allowed over 500 yards four times and ranked 76th in total defense. Behind eight upperclassmen and former Tampa Bay Bucs linebackers coach Robb Smith, the Razorbacks are expected to be more aggressive and experienced. In addition to an improved D, Razorbacks should be excited about the strength at WR. Behind wideout Keon Hatcher and TE Hunter Henry, a few true freshmen stood out including Jared Cornelius and Cody Hollister. Don’t forget senior Demetrius Wilson (ACL) will be back and will be another option for Allen. While the Arkansas Razorbacks schedule remains the biggest challenge for the team, these few highlights hint at a productive season.

5/20/14 – Former Razorback Travis Swanson was selected by the Detroit Lions in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft; followed by DE Chris Smith in the fifth round (Jacksonville Jaguars) and Kiero Small in the seventh (Seattle Seahawks). Zach Hocker was chosen 228th by the Washington Redskins and is the third kicker to be chosen in school history. Furthermore, four Arkansas players were signed to contracts as non-drafted free agents: Javontee Herndon (San Diego Chargers), David Hurd (Miami Dolphins) and Robert Thomas (Washington Redskins). Who will replace these guys on the Hogs’ football roster? Look for high school standout Cole Hedlund (Kicker), Luke Charpentier (Center), Kody Walker (Fullback), and Deatrich Wise (Defensive End) to step up.

4/21/14 – The Razorbacks are back on the field for Spring Football and QB Brandon Allen is finding his groove. Arkansas will face a tough challenge at Auburn to open the season Aug. 30. Their schedule is loaded with visits from SEC foes Alabama (min. $103), Georgia (min. $182), and LSU (min. $85) to Razorback Stadium and highlighted by a road trip to AT&T Stadium to take on the Texas A&M Aggies! Support the squad as they battle through a ruthless schedule with Arkansas Razorbacks football tickets.

2/4/14 - The University of Arkansas is excited to brush off last year’s troubles and take on a new season. Second-year head coach Bret Bielema and second-year OC Jim Chaney will return to U of A for another go. There are 17 seniors leaving the class, while the biggest incoming recruits are 4-star OT Frank Ragnow and QB Rafe Peacey (top-ten QB recruit). After finishing 3-9, and 0-8 in the SEC (the first time with no wins since ’92), there’s nowhere to go but up for the Arkansas Razorbacks!

2013 Season

11/1/13 – After a strong start to the 2013 season, the Razorbacks dropped five in a row. Arkansas is coming off a much needed bye week, regrouping before playing #11 Auburn Saturday at home. A win in Fayetteville would give the Hogs some confidence heading into the following weekend on the road against Ole Miss. The Razorbacks have got to improve their passing game, averaging just over 146 yards per game, if they want to move up the SEC standings. Can QB Brandon Allen lead the charge and turn the season around for Arkansas? It’s not out of the question that the Hogs pick up some wins on the final stretch and become bowl eligible.

2014 Season

In Bret Bielema’s second year as head coach, the Arkansas Razorbacks hope to make a big splash, especially in the Western Division of the perennially tough Southeastern Conference. Not since Bobby Petrino’s last season have the Hogs seen action in a bowl game, in the 2012 Cotton Bowl against Kansas State, which was also the last time the Razorbacks finished with a winning record. This season’s schedule features the usual tough matchups within the SEC, as well as key non-conference matchups, on the road at Texas Tech, and hosting Northern Illinois. The Razorbacks’ lone game in Little Rock this season is on October 18, when the Georgia Bulldogs come calling.

2013 Season

There is a new head coach in Fayetteville; one that the Arkansas Razorbacks hope can get the Hogs back to a bowl game. Bret Bielema, former coach of the Wisconsin Badgers, was called upon during the off season. Despite having great success in Wisconsin, football fans believe it was the draw of the SEC that lured Bielema to the Neutral State. Just two years ago, under Bobby Petrino, the Razorbacks football team finished the season 11-2 and No. 5 in the AP Poll. USA Today ranked Arkansas football 83rd out of 125 programs this year with one of the toughest college football schedules in the nation.

The SEC Conference has nine of the top 25 most expensive College Football tickets in the country. However, the Razorbacks are not one of those teams. Arkansas Razorbacks tickets are averaging $107 for the 2013 season. Only three Southeastern Conference schools have a lower average price - Kentucky Wildcats Football (avg. $90), Mississippi Rebels Football (avg. $77), and Vanderbilt Commodores Football (avg. $58). The Hogs most expensive game at Razorback Stadium this year is Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Texas A&M Aggies Football, a Western Division rivalry averaging $189 per seat. That is, three-and-half times the cost of the Razorback’s home opener against Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns Football. The Razorbacks schedule at home includes four Conference and three non-Conference games. One noticeable difference - the Hogs will play the South Carolina Gamecocks Football team earlier than its traditional November date.
