Alabama Crimson Tide Football 2014 News and Updates

2/4/14 - Although the Alabama Crimson Tide didn’t close out their 2013 season with a third straight national championship, the school proudly lays claim to the best coach of the BCS era (no coach has more titles than Nick Saban). The No. 6 Tide, finished 11-2 (7-1 in the SEC) with a Sugar Bowl loss, and will say goodbye to a handful of notable seniors: AJ McCarron (finished second in Heisman Trophy voting) viewed as a late first/early second-round draft pick, LB C.J. Mosley, P Cody Mandel, WR Kevin Norwood, and RG Anthony Steen. Juniors foregoing their senior season for the Draft include: first-round projections safety HaHa Clinton-Dix and OT Cyrus Kuoandijo, and LB Adrian Hubbard and DE Jeoffrey Pagan. Alabama’s five-star recruits to don the Crimson next year are something to behold: DB Marlon Humphrey (son of former Bama/NFL RB Bobby Humphrey), DB Tony Brown, DE Da’Shawn Hand, OL Cameron Robinson, and Tuscaloosa native Bo Scarbrough. These top-tier talents join a slew of incoming 4-star players and former Seminoles QB Jacob Coker. For the fourth consecutive year, you can bet that Saban and his team will finish with the country’s highest-rated class. Additionally, former USC coach Lane Kiffin will join Bama as the new offensive coordinator. Things are looking great for this storied team as they get the ball rolling this offseason!

11/1/13 – Top-ranked Tide continue to roll over opponents, outscoring them 330-78. Alabama is the only a undefeated team remaining in the SEC and holds the league’s best chance of making it to the SEC title game, their eighth straight. On their quest for a third straight BCS National Championship, Alabama defeated Texas A&M in the most expensive College Football regular season game ever and will have to get past SEC rival No. 13 LSU Tigers next Saturday at home. Alabama vs. LSU tickets start at $194 and reach $842 for a seat in the lower level; the SEC showdown is the second priciest game in all of CFB this season, third most intriguing.

Alabama Crimson Tide Football

After becoming the first repeat BCS Champion last season, the Crimson Tide look this season to win their third straight title and fourth in the last five years. Despite having three consecutive first round picks in the 2013 draft, coach Nick Saban has more than enough talent to achieve the three-peat. Returning is senior quarterback AJ McCarron, who led the NCAA in passing efficiency last season. He's joined in the backfield by sophomore running back T.J. Yelden, who will take a larger role after the departure of Eddie Lacy to the NFL. Average price for Alabama tickets at home this season is $249, third highest in the NCAA after last year's BCS Championship opponent Notre Dame Fighting Irish and SEC rival LSU Tigers.
