12/19/14 - The Sugar Bowl, played in the New Orleans Superdome on New Year’s Day, is always one of the most highly anticipated events in college football. This year it pits the 12-1 Alabama Crimson Tide against the 12-1 Ohio State Buckeyes. Alabama is a perennial contender and talented quarterback Blake Sims was one of the Heisman finalists. The Buckeyes, led by head coach Urban Meyer, have a deep bench of excellent receivers including Devin Smith, Evan Spencer and Michael Thomas. Sugar Bowl tickets are selling fast. 12/7/14 - It'll be Alabama vs Ohio State in the 2015 Sugar Bowl on New Year's Day. Alabama rolled on Saturday, beating the Missouri Tigers 42-13 to win the SEC Championship. With that win, the Crimson Tide earned the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings. Ohio State, despite losing its second Hesiman-hopeful quarterback, completely dominated the Wisconsin Badgers 59-0 in the Big Ten Championship. Led by championship MVP Cardale Jones, the resilient Buckeyes moved up to No. 4 in the CFP rankings, earning the final spot in the first ever College Football Playoff.
