Orange Bowl 2015 News and Updates

2014 Season

12/30/14 - One of the most anticipated bowl games this year is the Orange Bowl, which features a great game between Georgia Tech and Mississippi State. Both of these teams have done some great things this season, making this match up even more intriguing. For Mississippi State, Dak Prescott has done a lot of incredible things. He was a Heisman candidate for much of this season, and is one of the nation’s top quarterbacks. He can do it all, from breaking tackles to throwing the deep ball. He will need to look sharp if his team wants to come away with the win. For Georgia Tech, Justin Thomas is a key player to watch. He can throw the deep ball better than almost anyone in college football, so big plays are bound to happen if he and his offense can click. Tickets for this game can be bought now for a low $1.

12/22/14 - One of the most interesting bowl games this year is the Orange Bowl, which features a fantastic matchup between Mississippi State and Georgia Tech. This is an explosive game that pits two of the most dynamic offensive teams in the nation. In order for Mississippi State to come away with the win, they need Dak Prescott to make smart plays down the stretch. He’s a very dynamic quarterback, who can scramble if the openings present themselves. Much like the Bulldogs, Georgia Tech will need their quarterback Justin Thomas to limit his turnovers. They also need their running game to start off strong in order for them to control the clock. Zach Laskey can certainly help out with the running cause, as he’s one of the top running backs in the ACC division. Tickets can be bought now for a low $2.

12/17/14 - Mississippi State (10-2) prepares to face Georgia Tech (10-3) in the 2014 Orange Bowl on December 31 at Sun Life Stadium in South Florida. The SEC vs. ACC showdown features a seventh-ranked SEC Mississippi State Bulldogs team that boasts the first 10-win regular season in school history. Mississippi State ranks 5th in the nation in total offense, with 506.2 yards per game, and 10th in scoring defense (37.2 ppg). The Bulldogs will face a 12th-ranked ACC Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets' offense that finished the season third in the nation in rushing yards, averaging 333.6 yards per game in the regular season. This year marks Georgia Tech's seventh Orange Bowl appearance, while Mississippi State will be making its first visit since 1941. Tickets at all price ranges are on sale now.

12/7/14 - Mississippi State didn't lose until November 15th at top-ranked Alabama, and its only other loss came on the road at in-state rival Ole Miss. With the 10th best defense in fewest points allowed, the Bulldogs will look to slow Georgia Tech's triple-option offense that nearly knocked off College Playoff-bound Florida State in the ACC Championship on Saturday. The two teams will meet in the 2014 Orange Bowl in Miami on New Year's Eve.

9/2/14 - The Orange Bowl is part of the “New Year’s Six” rotation of semifinal bowl games in the new College FootballPlayoff field. We may have just finished Week 1 of the regular season, but that hasn’t stopped experts from predicting which teams from the ACC, B1G or SEC will visit Miami Gardens on December 31. North Carolina, Alabama, Clemson and South Carolina have all appeared in the preseason projections. See for yourself which elite teams make it to Sun Life Stadium with 2015 Orange Bowl tickets today!

12/9/13 - Clemson and Ohio State are pitted against each other in this year's Orange Bowl for one of the most anticipated college quarterback showdowns in the BCS! Ohio State missed out on the Big 10 title after a gut-wrenching loss to Michigan State, but the Buckeyes are looking to bounce back in Miami at Sun Life Stadium. Braxton Miller will need to bring his fiercest game to get past Clemson’s quarterback Tajh Boyd, who is the ACC’s all-time leader in touchdown passes. Orange Bowl tickets are a total steal: starting at just $46 in the upper levels and averaging $210. Be there for some serious action from Clemson’s wide receivers that will look to make mincemeat out of Ohio State’s secondary in this year’s most epic battle on the rim!

Cheap Orange Bowl 2014 tickets start at $80 in the Upper Level Corner and reach $472 in the Lower Level at the 50-yard line.

The inaugural 2015 CFP has selected the Rose and Cotton Bowl to host the top four-ranked teams, while the Orange Bowl has scored a 2016 playoff slot. The 2015 Orange Bowl game will play out on New Years Eve, in a Dec. 31 triple-header alongside the Fiesta and Peach Bowls. New Years Day will figure the Cotton, Rose and Sugar Bowls to determine the pair of teams to advance to the 2015 College Football Championship Game. The likes of Geno Smith, Eddie Lacy, AJ McCarron, EJ Manuel, Tavon Austin have graced the gridiron at Sun Life Stadium—which elite players can we expect at this year's thriller?

Florida’s Orange Bowl sprang up in response to the Rose Bowl game and Tournament of Roses Parade, which displays Los Angeles’ gorgeous weather in the midst of winter. Florida boasts similar beauty that time of year, so Miami responded with the Palm Festival, adding an American football game to heighten popularity. Although there is no longer a festival, the Orange Bowl has annually showcased paramount teams from across the country since 1935, and is among the oldest college bowl games in history. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be at Sun Life Stadium when the best of the best duke it out in Southern Florida this year!
