2013 Season

12/9/13 - Clemson and Ohio State are pitted against each other in this year's Orange Bowl for one of the most anticipated college quarterback showdowns in the BCS! Ohio State missed out on the Big 10 title after a gut-wrenching loss to Michigan State, but the Buckeyes are looking to bounce back in Miami at Sun Life Stadium. Braxton Miller will need to bring his fiercest game to get past Clemson’s quarterback Tajh Boyd, who is the ACC’s all-time leader in touchdown passes. Orange Bowl tickets are a total steal: starting at just $46 in the upper levels and averaging $210. Be there for some serious action from Clemson’s wide receivers that will look to make mincemeat out of Ohio State’s secondary in this year’s most epic battle on the rim!

In 2012, Florida-native Geno Smith carried the West Virginia Mountaineers to a huge record-breaking victory over the Clemson Tigers. The final score of 70-33, Smith’s 6 TD passes and Tavon Austin’s 4 TD receptions each became all-time Orange Bowl records. On January 1 of last year, the Seminoles (led by EJ Manuel) dominated Northern Illinois 31-10, and later that week, the Orange Bowl hosted the BCS National Championship Game for the 20th time. The No.2 Alabama Crimson Tide, with running back Eddie Lacy and QB AJ McCarron, rolled over No.1 seed Notre Dame onto their third BCS National Championship title in four years, ousting the Fighting Irish 42-14.

Florida’s Orange Bowl sprang up in response to the Rose Bowl game alongside the Tournament of Roses Parade, which displays Los Angeles’ gorgeous weather in the midst of winter. Florida boasts similar beauty that time of year, so Miami responded with the Palm Festival, adding an American football game to heighten popularity. Although there is no longer a festival, the Orange Bowl has annually showcased paramount teams from across the country since 1935, and is among the oldest college bowl games in history. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be at Sun Life Stadium when the best of the best duke it out in Southern Florida this year!
