College Football Championship Game 2015 News and Updates

1/5/15 - The game is finally here. The Oregon Ducks are taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes for the chance to become national champions. A lot is at stake, which should bring out the best in both teams. It comes down to who can control the momentum of the game, which takes place next Monday, January 12, 2015. For Oregon, they need to rely on the dynamic play from Marcus Mariota. He’s a Heisman winner for a reason, and if he can mix it up running and throwing the ball, they have a great shot at winning it all. For Ohio State, they need their defense to step up big, and prevent Mariota from scrambling outside the pocket. It’s a great game and tickets can be bought now for $378.

1/2/15 - The biggest game in college football is almost here, which takes place at the AT&T Stadium on January 12, 2015. The matchup is set, featuring the Oregon Ducks and Ohio State. Both teams sealed their fate tonight, Thursday January 1, 2015. Oregon dominated FSU, beating them 59-20. It wasn’t even close. Marcus Mariota had a stellar game, throwing for 338 yards with 2 touchdowns. If he can replicate this type of performance, they have a great shot at winning it all. Ohio State played one of their best games against Alabama, beating them 42-35. It was a close game, but Ezekiel Elliott proved to be too dynamic, rushing for 230 yards with 2 touchdowns.

1/1/15 - In the battle of the the past two Heisman winners, Marcus Mariota and the Oregon Ducks dominated Jameis Winston and the Florida State Seminoles 59-20 in the Rose Bowl. Only up 5 at halftime, the high-flying Ducks forced numerous turnovers and scored 41 points in the second half to run away with the win. At the Sugar Bowl, underdog Ohio State won a thriller over No. 1 Alabama 42-35. The Buckeyes trailed 21-6 early, but behind 230 rushing yards from Ezekiel Elliott (a Sugar Bowl record), Ohio State willed its way to an impressive College Football Playoff semifinal victory at the Superdome. Oregon and Ohio State will meet in the 2015 College Football Championship on January 12th in Dallas. College Football Championship tickets will be some of the hottest of the new year.

12/24/14 - With less than three weeks left until the first College Football Championship game under the new College Football Playoff system, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Oregon Ducks are both favorites to win by more than a touchdown in the Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl respectively. ESPN, Yahoo and others recently rated the Rose Bowl this year’s top bowl game, with the Sugar Bowl second. In 2015, it’ll be the first time the winners of these two games meet to determine one true college football champion. While Oregon and Florida State have the last two Heisman winners going head-to-head on New Year’s Day, Alabama’s Blake Sims is a first-year starter and Ohio State’s Cardale Jones a third-string backup who’s now a household name after his breakout performance in the Big Ten Championship. All four teams have the players to win on January 1st, but it could come down to the two best quarterbacks leading their team to the College Football Championship at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

Now that the NCAA College Football Playoff system is in action, the stakes are higher than ever. A 13-person selection committee, comprised of former coaches, commissioners, athletic directors and more, will determine which of the nation’s top four teams will make it to the College Football Playoff. From there, the schools will claim their own destiny on the field—no computers, no calculations, just football. The top two teams to emerge from the semifinals (held at the Rose Bowl and Cotton Bowl) will advance to the first-ever 2015 College Football Championship Game at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Jan. 12, 2015. Who will hoist the glorious new College Football Trophy and become the first undisputed national champions in CFB?
