2014 marks the 35th Big East Tournament but the first for current members led by #6 Villanova Wildcats
and #12 Creighton

were added to the Big East in an effort to keep the Conference among college basketball’s best. The reformed Big East, made up of 10 teams, will hold its tournament at Madison Square Garden
March 12 – 15. Like the Big 12 Tournament, the Big East Tournament encompasses four rounds – first (seeds 7-10 only), quarterfinals, semifinals, finals – with the Champion earning an automatic big into the NCAA Tournament
Last year, Louisville outscored Syracuse 78-61 in the Championship game, on the Cardinals way to a NCAA Championship! Because Connecticut was ineligible and West Virginia had moved to the Big 12, only 14 of the 16 Big East teams participated in the Big East Tournament last year. No.1 seeded Georgetown was upset in the semifinals by No.5 seeded Syracuse. One of the most memorable Big East Tournaments was in 2011 where fans got to watch eleven future NCAA Tournament Teams!
