UCLA Bruins Basketball 2014-2015 News and Updates
2/7/14 – UCLA has been on the bubble all season; in and out of the Top 25, the Bruins most recently suffered a disappointing loss to the Oregon State Beavers on the road. Half way through Conference play, Steve Alford could save face with a win against rival USC Trojans Saturday evening at the Galen Center. The last time the two Pac-12 foes met in Westwood, the Bruins routed the Trojans 107-73 after Andy Enfield took some shots at UCLA and Alford. Is a second consecutive Pac-12 title in the UCLA Bruins future? Second in the conference, but 2.5 games behind leaders Arizona, the Bruins would likely have to win out to have a chance.
1/2/14 - After starting with a flawless 8-0 record, the UCLA Bruins are sitting with a 11-2 record heading into conference play. Jordan Adams leads the team in scoring with the help of triple-threat Kyle Anderson, who is currently the only player in the conference to rank among the top five in rebounds, assists and steals. Scoring over 90 points in the majority of their games this season and with just zero losses at home, what better way to open up the Pac-12 season
than with a win over crosstown rivals? The Bruins are preparing their big rivalry game this Sunday when UCLA hosts USC at Pauley Pavilion. Get UCLA tickets for just $43 as they kick off Pac-12 play with a W!
UCLA Bruins Basketball 2014-2015 Season
The reigning Pac-12 Champions, UCLA Bruins, return this season with a new head coach in Steve Alford. Led by the sophomore duo of Kyle Anderson and Jordan Adams, the men of Westwood look to defend their Conference title and return to the Final Four
for the first time since 2008.
The first big test on the UCLA Bruins schedule will be against the Duke Blue Devils (12/19) in the CARQUEST Auto Parts Classic. Playing on a national stage at Madison Square Garden the blue and gold will use this opportunity to prove that they are contenders. The Bruins will begin Pac-12 play soon after their matchup with Duke starting with a game against cross-town rivals USC (1/5). UCLA vs. USC tickets for the January game at Pauley Pavilion are averaging $163; the matchup is the second cheapest Pac-12 game this season on the Bruins home schedule. The most expensive game in Westwood in 2014 will be played against the Arizona Wildcats who fell to UCLA in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals last season. UCLA vs. Arizona tickets are averaging $231.
UCLA Bruins basketball single-game tickets average $145 for the 2013 season. Tickets to see one of the most storied programs in the nation are the most expensive in the Pac-12 and twelfth most in the NCAA.
The 2014 squad will be without All-Conference first teamers Shabazz Muhammad who was the 14th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and Larry Drew II who recently signed a contract with the Miami Heat. That said the Bruins are still loaded with talent. They will return shooting guard Jordan Adams who was the team’s second-leading scorer last season and looked like their best all-around player in the Conference Tournament before breaking his foot on the last play of their semi-final win over Arizona. Point-forward Kyle Anderson is back as well after earning second team All-Conference honors in his freshman year. The Bruins have also added Freshmen Zach LaVine, AP Washington state player of the year, and Bryce Alford, New Mexico’s all-time single-season basketball scoring leader, to their roster. Both players have big upside and will immediately provide back-court depth and scoring punch.
