Syracuse Orange Basketball News - 2013 Syracuse Basketball Updates
In the last quad, the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball program has been to the Final Four, Elite 8, and Sweet 16. Led by Coach Him Boeheim, who boasts the second-most wins in men’s NCAA D1, the Cuse enter the 2013 season at No. 8. The former Big East members will now play as part of the Atlantic Coast Conference alongside rivals Duke
and North Carolina
. Syracuse’s move from the Big East to the ACC has currently put an end to the Georgetown-Syracuse rivalry; but, fear not, plans are in the works to make sure that the heated rivalry game is on all future Syracuse Orange schedules.
The Orange regular season schedule this year includes nine ACC games, six of which will be played on a Saturday. Defending ACC Champs Miami Hurricanes
will come to New York on Jan. 4 for Syracuse’s ACC home opener. Syracuse vs. Miami tickets get-in price is $45. To compare, Syracuse vs. UNC tickets begin at $120 for the matchup one week later and Syracuse vs. Duke tickets at the Carrier Dome start at $199. The ACC newcomers were preseason No. 9 last season; Syracuse Orange tickets averaged $73 at the time and were 15th most expensive in the NCAA. Expect forward C.J. Fair to be among the top players not just on the Syracuse roster but also in the Conference in 2013. Freshman and top recruit Tyler Ennis has the talent to also help the Orange compete for an ACC title in their inaugural season.
