Syracuse Orange Basketball 2014-2015 News and Updates

2013-2014 Season

2/7/14 – A record crowd (35,446) was at the Carrier Dome Saturday as longtime powers now No. 1 Syracuse took on then No. 17 Duke in what turned out to one of the best College Basketball games in recent memory and a preview of what is to come in the ACC Tournament come March. ‘Cuse came out on top 91-89, setting a school record for consecutive wins to start a season. Orange’s C.J. Fair scored a career-best 28 points to help Syracuse remain undefeated (21-0, 9-0 ACC). The Syracuse Orange conference schedule will not lighten as they close the regular season; of the ACC teams challenging Cuse for the top spot, the Orange have the toughest competition remaining this season. Still having to play Duke, Virginia, and Pittsburgh on the road, the top dogs will need their fans support! Syracuse Orange tickets are relatively cheap; averaging $67 for remaining home games, Orange tickets are just 29th in price among NCAA teams!

1/2/14 - Fear the Orange! After rallying from a huge 18-point deficit early in the game, the Syracuse Orange pulled of an incredible victory over previously unbeaten Villanova to keep their record perfect this past Saturday. True freshman Tyler Ennis has been a shining point guard for the team, while Trevor Cooney has been integral in their massive scoring runs with his reliable 3-point shots. Just second to the Arizona Wildcats on top of the AP Poll, the Orange have alerted every other team: no lead is safe when you’re playing against Cuse! First up is their first conference game of the year against the Miami Hurricanes for a mere $38. Later, Syracuse’s big game against Duke commences on February 1 at the Carrier Dome: tickets are just $65 to get-in for this huge ACC rivalry match!

9/17/13 - In the last quad, the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball program has been to the Final Four, Elite 8, and Sweet 16. Led by Coach Him Boeheim, who boasts the second-most wins in men’s NCAA D1, the Cuse enter the 2013 season at No. 8. The former Big East members will now play as part of the Atlantic Coast Conference alongside rivals Duke and North Carolina. Syracuse’s move from the Big East to the ACC has currently put an end to the Georgetown-Syracuse rivalry; but, fear not, plans are in the works to make sure that the heated rivalry game is on all future Syracuse Orange schedules.

The Orange regular season schedule this year includes nine ACC games, six of which will be played on a Saturday. Defending ACC Champs Miami Hurricanes will come to New York on Jan. 4 for Syracuse’s ACC home opener. Syracuse vs. Miami tickets get-in price is $45. To compare, Syracuse vs. UNC tickets begin at $120 for the matchup one week later and Syracuse vs. Duke tickets at the Carrier Dome start at $199.

The ACC newcomers were preseason No. 9 last season; Syracuse Orange tickets averaged $73 at the time and were 15th most expensive in the NCAA. Expect forward C.J. Fair to be among the top players not just on the Syracuse roster but also in the Conference in 2013.
