Syracuse Orange Basketball 2014-2015 News and Updates

12/19/14 - Christmas came early for Syracuse Orange basketball fans on Sunday, as the home team defeated Louisiana Tech 71-69. Following a pair of tough home losses, the Orangemen got back on track versus the Bulldogs in dramatic fashion, as senior Rakeem Christmas sank a short hook shot in the lane with just 2.2 seconds left on the clock, lifting his team to victory and a 6-3 record for the season. Trevor Cooney led all scorers with 25 points, and sophomore Tyler Roberson added 14 points and 17 rebounds for the Orange in the winning effort. Syracuse will have to play well to earn their first road victory of the season, as they visit #7 Villanova at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday afternoon. Get in the game with Razorgator—great seats are available starting at just $18.

12/12/14 - Syracuse Orange basketball coach, Jim Boeheim, did not play man to man in last Saturday's game to St. John. Over the course of his 39-year tenure at Syracuse, the coach rarely made changes to his starting lineup, unless facilitated by a suspension or injury. In the team's loss to St. John, Boeheim altered the lineup by taking out B.J. Johnson and putting in Michael Gbinije. Having been a starter in the three previous games, it was a shock to see Johnson taken out. It will be interesting to see if the coach keeps the new starting lineup, or changes it back. The change did not immediately help the team, who lost to St. John 69-57. The coach and team have high hopes in getting back on track at their next game, beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, in the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y. Be sure to snag your tickets now for as low as $3.

Orange’s C.J. Fair scored a career-best 28 points to help Syracuse remain undefeated (21-0, 9-0 ACC). Still having to play Duke, Virginia, and Pittsburgh on the road, the top dogs will need their fans support! Syracuse Orange tickets are relatively cheap; averaging $67 for remaining home games, Orange tickets are just 29th in price among NCAA teams!

1/2/14 - Fear the Orange! After rallying from a huge 18-point deficit early in the game, the Syracuse Orange pulled of an incredible victory over previously unbeaten Villanova to keep their record perfect this past Saturday. True freshman Tyler Ennis has been a shining point guard for the team, while Trevor Cooney has been integral in their massive scoring runs with his reliable 3-point shots. Just second to the Arizona Wildcats on top of the AP Poll, the Orange have alerted every other team: no lead is safe when you’re playing against Cuse! First up is their first conference game of the year against the Miami Hurricanes for a mere $38. Later, Syracuse’s big game against Duke commences on February 1 at the Carrier Dome: tickets are just $65 to get-in for this huge ACC rivalry match!

9/17/13 - In the last quad, the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball program has been to the Final Four, Elite 8, and Sweet 16. Led by Coach Him Boeheim, who boasts the second-most wins in men’s NCAA D1, the Cuse enter the 2013 season at No. 8. The former Big East members will now play as part of the Atlantic Coast Conference alongside rivals Duke and North Carolina. Syracuse’s move from the Big East to the ACC has currently put an end to the Georgetown-Syracuse rivalry; but, fear not, plans are in the works to make sure that the heated rivalry game is on all future Syracuse Orange schedules.
