Kansas Jayhawks Basketball 2014-2015 News and Updates

11/25/14 - After suffering a crushing defeat at the hands of the #1 Kentucky Wildcats, your Jayhawks are looking to regroup and refocus for the remainder of their non conference slate. For Coach Bill Self and the Jayhawks, the goal is always the same: to capture the Big 12 title and to make it to the Final Four. With upcoming home contests against ranked opponents such as #8 Florida and #25 Utah, opportunities abound for the Jayhawks to redeem themselves against quality non conference opponents. Come out to the hallowed grounds of iconic Allen Field House to cheer on the Jayhawks to victory. Razorgator has the very best selection of tickets at the best prices. With seats starting at just $24 for upcoming contests, there is no better time than now to support Kansas Jayhawks Basketball live and in person.

11/20/14 - The #5 Kansas Jayhawks won their 42nd straight season debut at Allen Fieldhouse last Friday, defeating the UC-Santa Barbara Gauchos 69-59. Devonte’ Graham led the way with 14 points, Perry Ellis had 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Frank Mason III contributed 12 points in the win. The Jayhawks struggled with their shooting and ball handling through parts of the game, but managed to put away the pesky Gauchos with a 14-4 run late in the second half. Many challenges loom for the Jayhawks this season, with no fewer than 8 games scheduled against teams ranked in the top 25. Current top 25 foes include powerhouses Kentucky and Florida, and Big 12 rivals Iowa State, Oklahoma and Texas. The Kansas Jayhawks basketball program is steeped in history and excellence. 11/11/14 - One of the better teams in college basketball over the years has been the Kansas Jayhawks. Their potent offense, particularly behind the 3-point line, was stellar last season. They ended up going 25-10 last season, and were first in the Big 12 conference. They will be looking to have similar success this season, which is certainly feasible for the 5th ranked team in the nation. Their leading scorer last season, Andrew Wiggins, moved on to the big leagues this year. They will need more players to step up in place of his absence, and this Jayhawks team is more than willing to accept the challenge. Their first game of the season takes place against UC Santa Barbara on Friday November 15, 2014. The Jayhawks are expected to come out with the win, but they will need to keep up their guard to prevent the upset from taking place. Tickets for the game are available now, which start out at $62.

2013-2014 Season

2/7/14 – Before losing to No.25 Texas Saturday, the Jayhawks had penned seven straight wins, five of which were against Top 25 teams - No.25 Kansas State, No.8 Iowa State (twice), No.9 Oklahoma State, No. 24 Baylor. Currently leading the Big 12 standings, the 17-5 Kansas Jayhawks have their sights set on their tenth straight Conference title! The Jayhawks tough schedule should prove beneficial come March; their experience under pressure and against elite programs will give them an advantage over teams who played an easy-breezy non-conference schedule and compete in a mid-major. 7-foot Center Joel Embiid has emerged as a potential No.1 draft pick; but the 19-year old from Cameroon has expressed interest in staying in Lawrence. Will the final five games of the 2014 season be Jayhawks fans last chance to see Embiid and Parker at Allen Field House? Let’s hope not, but why miss it?! Kansas Jayhawks tickets (5 games) are averaging $206 to close the regular season.

1/3/14 - The Kansas Jayhawks are known as one of the most skilled teams in the nation, but the team took off to a slow start against a punishing nonconference schedule that left them with a 9-3 record. The Jayhawks have grounded their footing and began to turn their season around by crushing Toledo’s 7 game win streak last Monday, ending 2013 on a high note, with a convincing 93-83 victory at Allen Fieldhouse. KU handed the Rockets their first loss of the season, on the backs of three 20-point scorers: Tharpe, Ellis, and freshman prodigy Andrew Wiggins (his 11th 20-plus game of the year). Kansas will finish off non-conference play when they host San Diego State on January 5 for $118 to start, compared to much cheaper tickets when they commence Big 12 Conference play Jan 8 at Oklahoma for a meager $8. Kansas vs. Kansas State rivalry tickets in Lawrence start at a massive $185, the most expensive get-in of the year. KU is still the team to beat this year, gunning for their 10th Big 12 title, and possibly the national championship, as the amount of youthful talent on their team is primed to explode in 2014, so lock-in your Kansas Jayhawks tickets now!

10/28/13 - Bill Self and the monarchs of the Big 12 have earned nine consecutive conference titles, two Final 4s, and a NCAA national title in his last 11 years as coach. Last year, KU was eliminated in the Sweet 16 by Michigan State, but Self will look for their 10th straight Big 12 title to continue the longest current streak of winning seasons in the league and complement one of the oldest and most renowned programs in college basketball. After all, KU’s first coach was the legendary James Naismith, inventor of basketball.

Kansas Jayhawks Basketball 2014-2015 Season

2013-2014 Season

Bill Self admitted that KU will face the most daunting schedule they’ve ever played: with the likes of Duke, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, Georgetown and San Diego State, the Jayhawks have a tough road to the NCAA Tournament. KU will open their most-hyped season yet at home against Louisiana-Monroe (Nov 8) and next face Duke (Nov 12) for the 3rd annual Champions Classic. They are also participating in the Battle 4 Atlantis (with Villanova, Wake Forest, USC and more) at Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Three of the Jayhawks games made our list of top non-conference matchups this season.

Self is known as one of the best recruiters in basketball, and has brought a number of gems back to Allen Field House to replace a whopping five starters from last year’s squad, but none so awaited with frenzied anticipated as Andrew Wiggins. Distinguished as the most prized and heavily-touted incoming freshman, the unanimous #1 2013 recruit has already been dubbed the best player in college basketball, and is the first freshman to ever be selected into the Preseason All-Big 12 Team. With all of his media hype surfacing prior to any regular season play, there is some contention from around the nation, including rivals Oklahoma State’s Marcus Smart. Along for the wild ride this season is returning sophomore power forward Perry Ellis and notable newcomers Wayne Selden and 7-footer Joel Embiid.
