10/25/13 - The Blue Devils are continually favored to lead the ACC, after all, Duke boasts the fourth highest number of all-time wins in college basketball, and are ACC Champions a record 19 times. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski cultivated the most accurate offensive squad in the last decade, finishing 1st for in-conference offense, with 1.14 points per possession, and two players averaging more than 17 points a game. on their journey to a national title!
The Blue Devils will jumpstart their season on Nov 8, against Davidson
at Durham. They will participate in Preseason NIT, hosting UNC Asheville on Nov 18 and East Carolina
or Norfolk the following day. In late November (preseason NIT) they may square off against the Arizona Wildcats
, for what is sure to be a firework match between the two. Their non-conference schedule is highlighted with a game against UCLA at Madison Square Garden (12/19), which is one of the top non-league games
in the Country based on average ticket price ($689). Duke’s ACC conference games begin on the road Saturday, Jan 4 against Notre Dame
, and they will host Georgia Tech
on Jan 7 starting ACC play at Cameron Indoor Stadium
Big numbers are anticipated from freshman Jabari Parker
(starting forward), named the ACC Preseason Rookie of the Year, averaging 18 points per game in high school. The Blue Devils acquired a (possible) new captain in Mississippi State
transfer, Rodney Hood. Another experienced player is Quinn Cook; primed to be a crowning point guard in his junior year, averaging nearly 4 assists a game last season. Above all, Duke is most excited about the return of Andrew Dawkins, leading returning scorer and fan favorite, who took last year off to nurse family tragedy.
