Arizona Wildcats Basketball 2014-2015 News and Updates

12/15/14 - It seems there’s just no stopping Arizona Wildcats basketball this year! After the ‘Cats disposed of the Michigan Wolverines by a score of 80-53 on Saturday, they stomped the Oakland Golden Grizzlies on Tuesday night, 101-64. Arizona freshman Stanley Johnson paced his team with 18 points on 7-14 shooting, and forward Brandon Ashley kicked in 15 points to go with eight rebounds, as Arizona improved to 11-0 for the season. The Wildcats out-shot the Grizzlies, 55 percent to 35 percent, and out-rebounded them by a healthy margin of 50-22 on their way to picking up their eighth home victory of the year. Arizona looks to stay perfect on Friday as they visit the UTEP Miners at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, TX. Go Wildcats!

12/10/14 - The Arizona Wildcats maintained their hold on the Pac-12, staying perfect on Tuesday with a runaway victory over the Utah Valley Wolverines. The #3 Wildcats started slow in the early moments of the game, but found their shooting stroke with plenty of time to put up 42 points in the first half en route to a final score of 87-56. Stanley Johnson led all scorers with 14 points in only 21 minutes, as Arizona’s starters enjoyed a short night with the game never really in doubt after halftime. Arizona Wildcats basketball now boasts a 6-0 home record, and will look to improve when the Big Ten-leading Michigan Wolverines visit the McKale Center on Saturday. 12/1/14 - It’s a great time to be a fan of Arizona Wildcats basketball! The #3 ranked Cats rolled to their seventh straight home win on Tuesday night, overpowering the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs 91-65 to stay undefeated on the season. Stanley Johnson and Gabe York poured in 18 points apiece for Arizona, who shot a sizzling 56 percent from the field as a team, including 10-17 from behind the arc. Kaleb Tarczewski added 10 points and 7 rebounds, and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson chipped in 11 points off the bench. The schedule gets tougher for the Wildcats, who will host unbeaten #9 Gonzaga on Saturday at the McKale Center. Which team will remain perfect after this weekend? Razorgator still has great seats starting at $99, but tickets are limited so act now!

11/24/14 - Boasting one of the most talented and athletic teams in the nation, your #2 Arizona Wildcats are poised to challenge for a Pac-12 title and a Final Four berth in this young 2014-2015 college basketball season. Upcoming tilts against such quality non conference foes as #13 Gonzaga and #24 Michigan will give Coach Sean Miller and his Wildcats several opportunities for resume building wins ahead of their Pac-12 slate. Led by forward Brandon Ashley, forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, and a heralded class of highly touted recruits, Arizona is poised for a monumental season. Come out to the McKale Center in sunny Tucson to support Arizona Wildcats Basketball as they begin their quest to the NCAA tournament. Razorgator has you covered, with seats for upcoming games starting at just $10.

11/20/14 - Arizona Wildcats are rolling right now, currently sporting a 2-0 record. They are looking to do big things this season, and their last game couldn’t have gone any better against CS Northridge. The final score ended up being 86-68. They dominated the last quarter, and a huge reason for their success was thanks to Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. He went on to score 14 points with 8 rebounds. He set the tempo early for them, and a lot of his success was due to his tenacity to dive after loose balls. They will need more of this energy from him in their next outing to come away with the victory. The Wildcats defense also played tough for all quarters, preventing CS Northridge from getting easy buckets. Up next for them is a game against UCI. They are heavily favored, but will still need to maintain their production on the offensive end. Tickets for the game can be bought now, which start out at $24.

11/10/14 - One of the best teams in the nation last year was the Arizona Wildcats. Last season, they had a stellar 33-5 record, leading the Pac-12 standings. It was a season unlike any other for them, a season where they went on to the Final Four. They didn’t come away with a championship, but they will be hoping this season turns out different for them. Their season opener will be against Mount St Mary’s, a game that shouldn’t be that difficult for them. Currently, they are the 2nd ranked team in the nation, and they will be looking to hold onto this ranking through March. Their keys for victory for Friday night’s game will be to get their guard, Gabe York, heavily involved in the offense. He sets the tempo for the team, along with forward Craig Victor. Tickets for next week’s game can be purchased now, and the starting price for them is around $19.

2013-2014 Season

2/7/14 – The Cats dropped a close effort on the road against Cal last Saturday, ruining their chances at a perfect season and slipping from the No.1 spot to No.2 in the AP Poll. Not only did the Wildcats lose the contest, but they lost sophomore Brandon Ashley to a broken foot. After the forward and his Arizona teammates spent eight straight weeks at the top, things began to look grim for the Cats. In an effort to try and rally behind their team, Arizona fans gathered at the McKale Center Thursday for the evening’s matchup against the Oregon Ducks which they knew would be another tough test for their Wildcats. With their support however, the traditional powerhouse grinded out a victory and came from behind to get the win over preseason Top 25 Ducks. Arizona needs to refocus before they head into their eight remaining conference games. Still with a convincing lead in the Pac-12, the Wildcats have just three games left this season at home: Oregon State Beavers (avg. $64), a rematch against the California Golden Bears (avg. $80), and Stanford Cardinal (avg. $80).

1/2/14 - The Arizona Wildcats are undefeated on the season, and flying high atop the AP Top 25. The Wildcats have been an unstoppable force, consistently beating teams by wide margins of at least 25 points in the last couple weeks, save Michigan, who they squeaked by 72-70 to remain perfect. Missing center Kaleb Tarczewski from a sprain, the Wildcats have fared well without the 7-footer, but are hoping to get him back before conference play starts after the New Year. They’ll open up Pac 12 conference play against Washington State for just $34 to get-in. Can the Wildcats pull off an undefeated year? With Oregon, Colorado and UCLA being their most daunting division opponents on schedule, a flawless season is doable. Get your cheap Arizona Wildcats tickets and be there to watch this team hold onto the top spot! 10/28/13 - Formidable Pac-12 champions, the Arizona Wildcats are groomed for another banner year. Despite a fantastic start to last season leading up to Pac-12 Championship with Final 4 hopes and a 14-0 record, the Wildcats plummeted, losing half of their conference games and falling to arch rivals UCLA thrice (losing the Pac-12 title) and were ultimately eliminated by Ohio State in the Sweet 16. They will be looking for redemption this year with their dominating and experienced line up.

Now, the Wildcats are headed by junior Nick Johnson (11.5 ppg), who will try to earn All-Pac-12 status this year, an achievable proposition for the highly athletic guard.
