The 2013 Utah Jazz are hoping to improve on last year's short-lived appearance in the NBA postseason, when they were swept by San Antonio. So far this year, they are in the playoff hunt, standing third in the Northwest Division behind Oklahoma City and Denver. The Jazz are getting it done with a number of contributions, most notably from center Al Jefferson, who leads the squad in both scoring and rebounding. Forward Paul Millsap is leading in steals per game, while Mo Williams is leading in assists per game. While Randy Foye and Marvin Williams post key minutes as starters, additional bench contributions are coming from Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors, and Jamaal Tinsley. Overall, the Jazz are above average in scoring as a team, while slightly below average in points allowed per game; Coach Tyrone Corbin definitely has his work cut out for himself; if the Jazz are to have any chance at a deeper playoff run than last year, they will need to start working it on the defensive end of the court, getting stops while ensuring they keep their scoring average up.
