New Orleans Hornets News – 2013 Hornets Updates

Rebuilding is in full swing in New Orleans. With the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Hornets drafted Anthony Davis out of the University of Kentucky. As part of the Chris Paul trade, the Hornets also acquired the 10th pick which they used to draft Austin Rivers, son of Boston Celtic Coach Doc Rivers. Unfortunately for the Hornets, injuries have limited the amount of playing time for both of their rookies, but Davis has been healthy of late and is averaging over 12.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and picking up nearly 2 blocks per outing. The news has been better for Eric Gordon whose knee seems to be returning to full strength. The star shooting guard is returning to form which is great news for fans since his acquisition from the Los Angeles Clippers was supposed to be the first piece of the rebuilding puzzle. Offseason acquisition Ryan Anderson, 2012's Most Improved Player and 3-point field goals leader, has also played well averaging 2.8 threes and 16.6 points per game. The makeup of the Hornets roster isn't the only thing that's changing; next year, the team will change its name to the New Orleans Pelicans.

At the beginning of the season, New Orleans Hornets tickets averaged $68 for a seat inside New Orleans Arena — tenth cheapest tickets in the NBA on the resale market. At the end of February, New Orleans tickets were the 3rd cheapest tickets in the League, only the Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons were cheaper. Two of the three most expensive games this season at New Orleans Arena will be when the Los Angeles Lakers come to town. All but six Hornets games have tickets available under $10. Remaining games on the Hornets schedule with cheap tickets include: Boston Celtics ($11), Los Angeles Clippers ($6), and Dallas Mavericks ($2).
