Since winning the National Basketball Association's old Midwest Division in 2005 before a round of realignment, the Minnesota Timberwolves have undergone a gradual decline, culminating in three consecutive fifth-place finishes in the current Northwest Division, which they share with Oklahoma City, Denver, Utah, and Portland. Forward Kevin Love is the T-Wolves offensive leader, tops on the team in scoring average and rebounding despite only playing about a third of the team's games due to injury; while Spanish star Ricky Rubio has shown himself to be quite effective at the point, leading the squad in assists and steals. Also contributing offensively is former Utah Jazz star Andrei Kirilenko; along with Nikola Petkovic and Luke Ridnour. Coming off the bench to provide support are J.J. Barea, Dante Cunningham, and shot blocker Greg Stiemsma. Coach Rick Adelman has to work on his team's scoring and points allowed, both of which are in the bottom half league-wide. While the T-Wolves are improved over the last couple of seasons, they still have some work to do to get back to respectability.
