The Memphis Grizzlies are most likely going to the postseason this year, but they are currently seeded at the bottom of the list of Western Conference teams. They had an extremely strong early season, but it looks like they have been struggling lately. 2/3/16 - The Memphis Grizzlies may have ended their winning streak last week, but they are well on their way to building it back up. 1/27/16 - The Memphis Grizzlies broke their four game winning streak with a loss against the Timberwolves on the 23. Since then, they have won their next two games. They played the Magic on the 25 in a game that went into overtime. It was a back and forth game, and it looked like it might go to the Magic after they had a late 9-0 run during regulation. However, the Grizzlies fought back and Jeff Green scored one of his season-high 30 points with 1.3 seconds left to tie the game and send it into overtime. The defense kept the Magic from scoring all but one shot in the overtime to win. The Grizzlies next play the Kings, and tickets are available for $13 and up.
1/20/16 - The Memphis Grizzlies have won their last three games in a row. Their last victory was against the Pelicans on Monday, January 18. It was a close one, with a final score of 101-99. Multiple players tied for the top scoring position with 16 points (Marc Gasol, Jeff Green, and Matt Barnes), demonstrating this victory was truly a team effort. Gasol also had 10 assists for a double-double. Throughout the game, there was a tool of 18 changes in the leader as well as 14 times the score was tied. The Grizzlies will look to continue their winning streak when they head to Denver to pay the Nuggets on the 21. You can still get tickets, for prices starting at just $10.
1/13/16 - After winning two in a row, the Memphis Grizzlies lost to the Rockets on January 12. However, they came back on the 14 to beat the Pistons in a close game. The Pistons were ahead in the first quarter, but then the Grizzlies found their groove and went into the locker room at the half ahead by 5 points. They outscored the Pistons in the third quarter, but then the Pistons took back control. A last-second jumper by Mario Chalmers clinched the 103-101 victory. Chalmers led the team with 25 pints and also had 8 assists. The Grizzlies host the Knicks on the 16 and the Pelicans on the 18. You can still get tickets, with prices starting at $22.
1/6/16 - While the Memphis Grizzlies were dominating last week, they have been struggling slightly now that they are on the road. They have only won one of their three away matches in this series. It was when they took on the Portland Trail Blazers on January 4th. While it is their only victory, it was a particularly strong win, with the final score coming to 91-78. There is good news, however, because the Grizzlies are now ready to return to Memphis and start dominating once again. First up, they will be hosting the Denver Nuggets on January 8th, followed by the Boston Celtics on the 10th. Tickets for the latter matchup are available starting at $5.
12/30/15 - After a pair of disappointing road losses, the Memphis Grizzlies have rebounded with consecutive W’s at home. They’ll enjoy a few days off before returning to action in 2016, starting with the Utah Jazz on January 2nd. At 18-16, the Grizzles are in the middle of the Western Conference pack with the potential to jump or fall in the standings with a few key wins or losses. Can they start the new year off on the right foot? Get your tickets for Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City to find out firsthand! Seats start at just $17!
12/16/15 - The Memphis Grizzlies hosted the Washington Wizards on December 14th and came away with a strong 95-112 victory. The Grizzlies were on a short losing streak, so it is good that they were able to break it before hitting the road. From here, they are going to be playing mostly away matches, only returning briefly on December 19th to face the Indiana Pacers. Tickets for that match start at just $10. Afterward, they will not return until December 27th, more than a week later. The Pacers matchup is your best opportunity to catch the Grizzlies in action. Be sure to come out and show your support before their long trek on other teams’ courts.
12/9/15 - Memphis Grizzlies won a close game against the Pistons on December 9. The game came down to the final seconds, when Matt Barns threw a desperate half court shot with just over a second left to play and made the 3-pointer to bring the Grizzlies ahead 93-92. Zach Randolph was the leading scorer with 21 points and also grabbed 16 rebounds. Marc Gasol helped out with 19 points, including a free throw with 29 seconds left that helped to get the team within two points. The Grizzlies will look to add another win to their 13-10 record when they host the Hornets on December 11. Tickets remain available, with prices as low as $7.
12/2/15 - The Gasol’s are tearing up the court, but are just on opposing teams this season. Mac Gasol, of the Memphis Grizzlies, was the star of the show when the team took on the New Orleans Pelicans on December 1. He scored a career high of 38 points and to top it off he was able to rebound the ball 13 times and get in four blocks. This was a breakthrough moment for Gasol, since in the last five games he hasn’t been able to score in the double digits. His aggressive and on-point offense against the Pelicans definitely was a contributor to the 113-104 win. Watch them play live when you get your tickets for their upcoming game against the Phoenix Suns on December 6.
11/25/15 - The Memphis Grizzlies extended their winning streak to four games when they beat the Rockets on November 20. Mike Conley led the team with 26 points, and Marc Gasol helped the offense with 16 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds. The Grizzlies had a 20-point lead in the third quarter, but the Rockets started to fight back, getting to within 9 points. The Grizzlies were able to hold onto their lead and win the game 96-84. However, their streak was ended when they lost to the Spurs the next night. The Grizzlies have a chance to start a new winning streak when they host the Mavericks on November 24. Tickets remain available, with prices starting at just $4.
11/18/15 - The Memphis Grizzlies are definitely not the team in the Western conference that is leading it all, but they are an organization that needs to be looked out for. Currently they are in the middle of the standing board and have evened up with six wins and six losses. The Grizzlies have won their last three games in a row, which is nothing but helpful to their record. On November 16, the Grizzlies faced off against the Oklahoma City Thunder powerhouse. Scoring 43 points in a single quarter alone was what put the Grizzlies in the winning position that night. See the Grizzlies hit the court again when they play the Houston Rockets on November 20. Get your ticket today.
11/11/15 - The Memphis Grizzlies snapped a four game losing streak with a narrow 101-100 win against the Trail Blazers. Zach Randolph hit a last-second basket to bring the Grizzlies ahead to snag the win. Marc Gasol helped with 31 points, which was a season high. Randolph's game winning point came after several unsuccessful attempts from teammates, including Courtney Lee, Jeff Green, and Allen Grabbe. Portland attempted to get the game back with a final shot at .6 of a second, but it fell short. The Grizzlies kept up their winning momentum when they beat the Timberwolves 114-106. They will look to build on this growing winning streak when they play the Thunder on the 16. Tickets remain available, starting at $6.
11/4/15 - The Memphis Grizzlies are halfway through a series of tough away games. Still, they are holding their own admirably. Their record for the season is 3-3. Having five consecutive away matches is always difficult, but the Grizzlies managed to take a 103-89 victory against the Sacramento Kings on November 3rd. The Grizzlies will return to Memphis on the 11th when they host the Golden State Warriors, who are still undefeated. This huge obstacle is not what the Grizzlies were hoping to return to, but it should be an immensely exciting game, so get your tickets today. You can secure your spot in the stands starting for as low as $22.
10/28/15 - For the first game of the 2015-16 season, the Memphis Grizzlies had a slow start, which cost them the game. They were outscored 26-10 in the first quarter, and never had a chance to rally and get ahead of the Cavaliers. Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol both had 12 points to tie as the team's leading scorers of the game. The Grizzlies had a tough time all around finding the basket, with only Gasol and Tony Allen being able to make at least half of their attempted shots. Overall, the team had a 35 percent shooting average. They will look to improve on this when they face the Pacers on October 29. You can still get tickets, with prices starting at $10.
10/21/15 - The Memphis Grizzlies are an NBA team that you don’t hear a lot about, but they have been in the league for over 20 years now and have been in Memphis for 14 of those years. Last year the Grizzlies played well for the majority of the season and were on top of their division leader board. Unfortunately, as the season went on, the Grizzlies had some setbacks and weren’t able to complete the regular season as the top dogs. They did make it to the playoffs though and were defeated by the Golden State Warriors in the semi-finals. See what they bring to the court when they play their first season game on October 28 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
10/12/15 - It's preseason time for the Memphis Grizzlies, and they seem ready to have a great 2015=16 season. They won their first three preseason games against the Houston Rockets, Israel's Maccabi Haifa, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The leading scorer for each game was different, with Russ Smith, Marc Gasol, and Zach Randolph each getting a chance to be the high scorer. Fans, team members, and coaches are also celebrating the Grizzlies being named second in ESPN the Magazine's Ultimate Standings, which ranks all 122 professional sports teams from the main four sports. The Grizzlies next host the Oklahoma City thunder on October 16, and you can still get your tickets for prices starting at $3.
8/12/15 - The Memphis Grizzlies finished with a respectable 55-27 record last season and finished second in the Southwest Division. For players and many of the team’s fans, however, it simply wasn’t enough. They are eagerly waiting for the 2015-2016 season to kick off so they can try to prove themselves once again. The NBA recently published the official schedule for the upcoming season, and it looks like the Grizzlies will have a tough start. They’ll be tested in the home kickoff game against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers before hitting the road to play the Indiana Pacers. Come see all of the action kick off in person on Wednesday, October 28 at FedEx Forum. Tickets to the home opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers start at $151.
5/12/15 - When the Memphis Grizzlies entered the second round of the playoffs, they had their work cut out for them. Taking on the league leader is a daunting task, and they had to do it without the home court advantage. While the Golden State Warriors put up an impressive fight initially, the Grizzlies have turned it around with two consecutive victories, one of which even being on the Warrior's court. Unfortunately, the Grizzlies lost their second home game, which tied their records up. With three games remaining, it is impossible to say who will advance to the semifinals. Two games will be away matches, but the Grizzlies have already proven they can handle themselves on someone else's court. Be sure to catch May 15th's round as it is their final home game. Tickets are still available.
5/5/5 - It was clear that the Memphis Grizzlies were missing their starting point guard on Sunday afternoon, as they fell to the Warriors in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The 101-86 loss put the Grizzlies in a 0-1 hole in the series, although play has yet to shift over to The Grindhouse, a.k.a. FedEx Forum in Memphis. Marc Gasol led the Grizz in their second-round opener, putting up 21 points and nine rebounds. Fellow big man Zach Randolph nearly matched his teammate with 20 and nine, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the high-octane offense of Stephen Curry and Golden State. Memphis will try once more to steal home court advantage in the series at Oracle Arena on Tuesday night, and a select number of seats are still available starting at $137!
5/1/15 - The good news for the Memphis Grizzlies is that they have secured a spot in the conference semifinals, and they played exceptionally well in the first round to boot. Unfortunately, their opponent in the second round is going to be the Golden State Warriors, who are the leading team in the entire league. The Memphis Grizzlies only took one loss, on April 27th, so it seems they are at the top of their game, but the Warriors are going to be their biggest challenge yet. We will get a feel for how the second round will play out on May 3rd at the first match. The Grizzlies are also playing at a court disadvantage, so they certainly have their work cut out for them if they want to advance to the conference finals.
4/20/15 - Continuing their domination of the Portland Trail Blazers that stretches back to their 4-0 regular season series sweep, the Memphis Grizzlies took the first game of their opening round playoff matchup, 100-86. The Blazers couldn’t get a foothold early against the Grizzlies’ aggressive defense, posting only 39 points in the first half compared with 58 for Memphis. Backup point guard Beno Udrih showed the playoff mettle he developed during his days in San Antonio, coming off the bench to pour in 20 points in just 24 minutes of play. Zach Randolph added 16 and 11 rebounds, and Marc Gasol chipped in 15 and 11 as the Grizz dominated the paint en route to the Game One win. Game Two is Wednesday night at the FedEx Forum and tickets are on sale now!
4/13/15 - Down to the final night of an 82-game season, the Memphis Grizzlies know they will be in the playoffs, and they know they’ll be starting out on the road. Depending on the outcome of the Rockets’ and Grizzlies’ final games, Memphis can finish either fifth of sixth place in the West, potentially placing them in a matchup with either the L.A. Clippers or Portland Trail Blazers. On the outside, they could possibly even see San Antonio in the first round, but one thing is for sure—their twin towers in Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph will be ready for the challenge regardless of the opposition. Playoff tickets are on sale now! Postseason action begins on Saturday, April 18th. Get your seats at the FedEx Forum starting at $38!
4/8/15 - The Memphis Grizzlies, currently holding down second place in the Southwest Division and third place in the conference, are a game behind resurgent Houston with five games left to play. Both the Grizz and Houston have similar finishes to their schedule – three games against .500 or better opponents, and four against other Western Conference teams.
3/25/15 - This week, the Memphis Grizzlies officially joined golden State as playoff qualifiers in the NBA’s Western Conference. The Grizzlies, winners of their last three, still have yet to clinch the Southwest Division, however, with Houston still a very close 2 ½ games behind.
3/17/15 - The Memphis Grizzlies are aiming to secure a three-game winning streak when they face the Pistons on Tuesday, March 17. The last time the two teams met was in November, where the Grizzlies defeated the Pistons 95-88. With the Grizzlies coming off of a 96-83 victory over the Bucks on March 14, and a 92-81 defeat of the Nuggets on the 16, they look good to secure the win, especially as Detroit is currently in a 10-game losing streak. However, the Pistons will be looking for revenge, especially as their earlier loss to the Grizzlies started another double-digit losing streak. The Grizzlies will also be looking to maintain their position as top in the Southwest Division, with a current season record of 47-20. Tickets to the game against the Pistons are still available, starting at $2.
3/11/15 - With the end of the season in sight, the Memphis Grizzlies are well placed for a deep run in the postseason this season. Currently second in the overall Western Conference, and leading the meat-grinder that is the Southwest Division – where every team is over .500 – by two games over Houston, the Grizzlies have to avoid getting complacent down the stretch.
3/4/15 - The Memphis Grizzlies have been unable to make up any conference ground on West leading Golden State recently. The Grizzlies, who dropped their last outing, remain 4 ½ games behind the Warriors, but a game and a half ahead of Southwest Division second place club Houston.
2/25/15 - Winners of their last two, on the road against Portland and the L.A. Clippers, the Memphis Grizzlies continue to put pressure on Western Conference leader Golden State in the race for the conference’s top seed. The Grizz are just 3 ½ games behind Golden State in the overall conference standings.
2/19/15 - Starting the two-month homestretch to the playoffs, the Memphis Grizzlies take to the road and a date this weekend in Portland. The Grizzlies are still the top team in the Southwest Division, and in the larger conference picture, are three games ahead of the Trail Blazers and four behind top seed Golden State.
2/4/15 - With a seven game win streak going, the Memphis Grizzlies are the hottest team in the Western Conference at the moment. The Grizzlies lead the Southwest Division by three games over Houston, and are second overall in the West, just 2 ½ games behind Golden State.
1/28/15 - Winners of eight of their last nine games, the Memphis Grizzlies have put a small cushion between themselves and their nearest competitor. The Grizzlies, winners of their last three as well, have opened a game and a half lead on Houston and are 2 ½ games up on Dallas.
1/21/15 - Even though they lost their last game, the Memphis Grizzlies are back atop the Southwest Division. The Grizz have company at the top, though; they’re a half game in front of both Houston and Dallas (all three teams have 29 wins), and three games ahead of fourth place San Antonio.
1/14/15 - After spending much of the season as the top team in the Southwest Division, the Memphis Grizzlies were finally surpassed. Now second in the division to Houston, the Grizz also have to look over their shoulders as well, as Dallas is in a virtual tie with them as well.
1/7/15 - While the Memphis Grizzlies have blazed a hot streak through the league out of the gate, they still have the third best record in the conference. The Grizz, at 25-9, trail Golden State (27-5) and Portland (27-8) in the race for best record in the conference.
12/23/14 - The Memphis Grizzlies have hit a tough spot in their schedule. Having dropped three straight after a six game winning streak, the Grizzlies will be looking to gain some ground the day after Christmas with a game against second-place Houston.
12/17/14 - Was it a statement win? The Memphis Grizzlies took care of business Tuesday night, handing visiting Golden State just their third loss. The Grizzlies relied on a deep bench to take over the game in the second quarter and hold on for a 105-98 win.
12/10/14 - The Memphis Grizzlies continue to be one of the hottest teams in the NBA. At 17-4, they stand atop the Southwest Division, a half game in front of Houston and two games ahead of San Antonio and Dallas; along with Portland from the Northwest Division, they also have the second-best record in the league.
12/3/14 - The Memphis Grizzlies continue to be one of the hottest teams in the NBA, even in a division where four of the five teams are playing over-.700 ball. The Grizzlies’ five game winning streak, however, is second in length to San Antonio’s eight game streak.
11/19/14 - It’s no surprise that the Memphis Grizzlies are the first NBA squad to 10 wins this season. The Grizz, who have only lost once this season, are just a single game ahead of Houston and two ahead of Dallas in the Southwest Division.
11/12/14 - How are the 7-1 Memphis Grizzlies getting it done this season? Look at the defense. The Grizz are tops in the Association at the moment in team defense, allowing just 89.1 points per game on average.
10/29/14 - The Memphis Grizzlies won their first season opener in thirteen years, hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves at the FedEx Forum. The 105-101 score marked and end to the opening night drought that the Grizzlies have had since October of 2000 and relocating from Seattle. Marc Gasol got a career best of 32 points, leading the team to victory by shooting 12-of-17 shots and assisting with nine rebounds in his 37 minutes of game play. Other high scorers of the game included Zach Randolph and Mike Conley who scored 25 and 16 points, respectively. Memphis had 43-of-82 with Gasol and Randolph having a combined 24-of-33 of that. Upcoming games promise to be just as exciting as the Grizzlies face off against other amazing teams with tickets selling for as little as $8.
8/26/14 – The 2014-2015 Memphis Grizzlies schedule recently released, and it’s filled with must-watch matches from start to finish! The Grizz will tip-off their season at home, against Minnesota on Oct. 29. Memphis plays five of their first seven games on the road, before returning to FedEx Forum for a long homestand that features Kobe Bryant and the Lakers (Nov. 11), Dwight Howard and the Rockets (Nov. 17) and Blake Griffin and the Clippers (Nov. 23). See the Memphis-Oklahoma City rivalry renewed when Kevin Durant and the Thunder visit on Jan. 31 and Apr. 3. Score your Memphis Grizzlies tickets today and see if this squad can take it to the top of the West!
The Memphis Grizzlies proved that they are among the best in the West, when their squad is healthy. With the injury to Marc Gasol, the Grizzlies struggled on the year and slipped into the postseason—the franchise’s fourth straight appearance—in the eleventh hour. Memphis was unfavorably pitted against OKC, and although they pushed the Thunder to seven games, the Grizzlies ultimately exited in the first round. Can Memphis score a return trip to the Western Conference Finals in 2015? The franchise made a few roster moves that will certainly further the Grizz's chances this year.
Memphis has kept their core in tact by securing Zach Randoph and Beno Udrih for more years to come. They added talent in the draft with Jordan Adams and Jarnell Stokes, but no acquisition for this small-market franchise is as big as scoring Vince Carter in free agency. Don't miss the return of a super-talented Grizzlies squad who added veteran Carter and drafted young talent to provide instant offense off the bench!
