2016 Washington Nationals News

The Washington Nationals seem to be rediscovering some of the mojo they had at the beginning of the season, as they have now won the last three out of four games. They had a tough battle for their most recent win against the New York Mets on Sunday night, barely eking out the victory 3 - 2. The Nats looked strong when they scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but the Mets came surging back with a run of their own. Ultimately, however, the Nats were able to fend off the home team and take their overall record to 54 - 36. Catch them when they host the Pirates on Friday. Tickets are $19.

Championship Dreams in the Nation’s Capital
After the Nationals signed SP Max Scherzer, slugger Bryce Harper jokingly asked where his championship ring was before the 2015 season even got started. Then 162 games later, Harper and his teammates were each returning to their own homes as the MLB playoffs got underway. A few key additions suggest that it’ll be tough to keep this 2016 team out of the postseason, which is one big reason that cheap Washington Nationals tickets are already flying out the door.

The Rich Get Richer
The Nats took a high-quality lineup and brought it even higher, adding speedy CF Ben Revere from Toronto and playoff homerun hero Daniel Murphy from the Mets. Their starting rotation is as devastating as last year, headlined by Scherzer—who came within a glimmer of a Perfect Game and threw a pair of no-hitters in ’15—and backed by Stephen Strasburg, Gio Gonzalez, Tanner Roark and Joe Ross. Indeed, few National League squads appear qualified to go toe-to-toe with Washington when it comes to the mound.
