2016 New York Yankees News

The New York Yankees have won their past two games. They beat the Red Sox 1-3 on July 17. The Red Sox got an early run, and then the Yankees found their rhythm in the fourth to get three runs when Starlin Castro, Austin Romine and Jacoby Ellsbury all had RBI hits. Masahiro Tanaka was on the mound and only allowed three hits. The next night, Yankees hosted the Orioles and won 2-1. Ivan Nova was on the mound for six innings and Brian McCann had a sacrifice fly that brought in a run and Alex Rodriguez homered. The two teams play again on the 19, 20 and 21. You can still get tickets, with prices starting at $4.

The New York Yankees stopped the Padres from sweeping their latest three game series when they won on Sunday, July 3. The Yankees had an early lead, but it was the ninth inning where they finally secured their victory with three runs. Mark Teixeira had a homer in the eighth and another one in the ninth to earn his 400th and 401st runs, the fifth switch hitter to ever make it over the 400 homer mark. However, the Yankees were unable to take that momentum when they played the White Sox and lost the first of a three game series. The two teams play again on the 5 and 6, and tickets remain available for prices starting at just $7.

The New York Yankees won their latest four game series against the Twins 3-1. In game one, the Yankees came back from behind to win 4-1. They dominated the second game, coming out strong with four runs the first inning and ending the game ahead 8-2. Game three was much closer, with the Twins once again ahead early. The Yankees rallied to win 7-6. The Yankees were hoping to sweep the series going into game four. However, the Twins managed to take control of the game and won 4-7, despite a strong effort by the Yankees. The Yankees host the Rockies for two games on the 21 and 22, and you can still get tickets for $34.

The New York Yankees went 1-2 in their latest series against the Orioles. After a close back and forth game, the Orioles nudged the Yankees out by one to take the win. The next night, the Yankees were ahead 7-0 when the Orioles scored six runs in the seventh inning to bring the game to one point, but the Yankees held on to win. The Orioles beat the Yankees 1-3 in the third game. The Yankees have started off their four game series against the Angels on a better note, winning the first game 5-2. You can still get tickets to catch the rest of the series with prices starting at just $4.

April was a month the Bronx Bombers would like to pretend never happened, but they appear to be turning a corner with steadily improving play in May. The New York Yankees still sit near the bottom of the AL East standings, though neither the Orioles nor the Red Sox appear to be running away with the division. The Yanks recently won home series against Boston, Kansas City and the Chicago White Sox, and they’ll look to close the month with a strong showing against the Toronto Blue Jays. Nathan Eovaldi, who leads the team in wins thus far, will take the mound for the series opener on May 24, facing off against veteran knuckleballer R.A. Dickey. Tickets for that first game start as low as $5.

The New York Yankees have gotten off to a rocky start in 2016 as rising star Luis Severino tries to find his rhythm. Severino showed an encouraging effort against the Orioles on May 3, though New York still lost the game 4-1. The Yanks have only won two series this season, most recently against the Rays in a three-game set back in April. Starting on May 9, the World Series Champion Kansas City Royals come to town for a four-game series. Tickets are still available for less than $10 for any of the KC games, and the Bronx Bombers also have home games in May against the White Sox and division rival Blue Jays.

The Bronx is never more alive than when the New York Yankees are playing at home, and upcoming Yankee Stadium victims will include the Mariners, the Athletics and the Rays. The Seattle series begins this Friday, April 15, and tickets are available now for only $14 and up. This will be a special game, because players all throughout the MLB will be celebrating Jackie Robinson day by wearing the retired No. 42 uniform. The weather forecast is looking beautiful, and the sunny skies mean that there’s not much chance of games needing to be postponed like what happened last week. Come check out the Yankees at home, and bring the whole family!

The New York Yankees premiered their 2016 team on April 5 against the Houston Astros, despite the freezing weather conditions. Ice had to be scraped from the field in the morning and the stadium was being thawed throughout the day to prepare for the barely above zero temperatures. The Yankees started the game off rough and the sloppiness continued throughout the game. This led to the Astros leaving the stadium the 5-3 winners over the Yankees. See if the Yankees can recover from the tough loss when they take on the Astros a second time on April 6 and 7. Tickets are still available for both games and start at $6 each.

The New York Yankees are gearing up for the rapidly approaching 2016 season, but some fans are worried this may be the start of yet another dismal year for a team once known as a dynasty. According to sports news outlets, the Yankees have a less than exciting lineup heading into Opening Day. In fact, one major source has warned that there’s no rush to get to Yankee Stadium as three of the team’s best players are pitching relievers. Aroldis Chapman, Dellin Betances, and Andrew Miller make up the Yankees’ strong pitching cast, but will the rest of the squad be able to keep up? Find out on April 4!

The upcoming New York Yankees season is almost here. With their season opener and home opener being on April 4th, there is less than three weeks left. The Yankees will host the Houston Astros and try to establish themselves for the rest of the season. Tickets are available starting at just $46, so come out and show your support by cheering the Yankees to victory. In the meantime, however, you can come out and see how the Yankees are doing by attending a preseason game. They are still trying to figure out their game plan, but tickets for the upcoming March 19th matchup against the Atlanta Braves start at $40.
