Los Angeles Dodgers 2016 News and Updates
For the Los Angeles Dodgers, a Tuesday night loss to the Diamondbacks further exposed one of the team’s main weaknesses—a lack of depth in backup pitching. Neither the weakness of the bullpen nor the final score of 2-4 were what the team wanted to show the crowd at the game, which also happened to be the home opener. The series finishes up on Thursday, but another round against San Francisco is in the books for this weekend at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers will look to redeem themselves for the home crowd, and you can be a part of the action! Get your seats from us today for either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday (April 15-17) game from us today for as little as $10!
The Los Angeles Dodgers have started the 2016 season off with two big shutout wins against the Padres. On Opening Day, the Dodgers beat the Padres 15-0, making for the largest Opening Day shutout in league history. Clayton Kershaw started on the mound and only gave up one hit during his seven innings. The next night, the Dodgers only managed three runs, but they still kept the Padres from scoring. Scott Kazmir only gave up one hit in his six innings on the mound. The Dodgers have one more game against the Padres before they head to San Francisco for a four game series against the Giants that starts on April 7. You can still get tickets for prices starting at $15.
The Los Angeles Dodgers started this preseason dominating the competition, taking 10 victories in 15 games and only losing three of those. Unfortunately, they have been struggling more recently, currently being on a disappointing seven-game losing streak. Fortunately, the preseason is the time to figure out the team dynamics and gain a footing before the official season kicks off. All fans are hoping the Dodgers turn it around before April 4th when the new season begins. Of course, fans are going to have to wait until April 12th for the Dodgers’ home opener before catching the Dodgers in action. They will host the Arizona Diamondbacks and tickets start at $83. Come out and show your support.
3/16/16 - The Los Angeles Dodgers are still in the preseason, but they are already dominating. With nine victories so far, and just three losses, the Dodgers are setting themselves up for an incredible season. There is not much time left to wait as well. The Dodgers kick the new season off on April 4th by travelling to the San Diego Padres. Tickets for the home opener, which will be on April12th against the Arizona Diamondbacks, are available starting at $85. If you just can’t wait, be sure to attend a preseason game. Tickets for the upcoming matchup against the San Diego Padres on March 20th start as low as just $13.
10/12/15 - A hard take-out slide by Chase Utley might have changed the complex of the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets series in the National League Division Series. The veteran slid in hard to second to break up a double play, inadvertently breaking the knee of Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada in the process. L.A. made the most of the play, which kept their seventh-inning rally alive. The Dodgers ultimately put four on the board during the offensive barrage, taking a 5-2 lead and Game 2 in the process. Games 3 and 4 take place at Citi Field in New York, and if necessary, Game 5 will be hosted at Dodger Stadium on Thursday evening. Get your tickets now!
10/6/15 - Vanquishing their Northern California rivals in the home stretch of the regular season, the Los Angeles Dodgers won the NL West for their right to compete for the Commissioner’s Trophy once again in 2015. LA knocked the defending World Champs out of playoff contention in San Francisco, eliminating the Giants before the postseason even got going. Now Clayton Kershaw and Zach Greinke will lead the Dodgers into the NLDS and a battle with Matt Harvey’s New York Mets. You can get your seats at Dodger Stadium for Games 1 and 2—MLB playoff tickets are available now starting at just $60! Be a part of all the action this postseason!
9/29/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers are finishing off the final away series of the season. Unlike most top teams, the Dodgers still have a few home games remaining, so be sure to take advantage of their schedule and catch them in action. They will be hosting the San Diego Padres in the final three home games starting on October 2nd. Tickets start as low as just $5. After that, there is a chance the Dodgers could have a postseason, possibly playing in the National League Division Series. The Dodgers may even make it all the way to the World Series. Be sure to keep an eye out for their status and any postseason tickets.
9/23/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers have had a month full of ups and downs. Just last week they went through a major slump, losing four games in a row. Fortunately, they were able to pull themselves out of the losing woes and gain a victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks on September 23. The game started out with some excitement as the Dodgers brought in one run in the first inning. The Diamondbacks quickly answered to that by scoring in the second. That’s when the game was taken over by both pitchers. Neither team scored for the next five innings. Luckily in the bottom of the eighth, Chase Utley from the Dodgers propelled his first leadoff home run, winning the game for the Dodgers. Get tickets for their next home game to get in on all of the action.
9/15/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers maintain the top spot in the NL West Division with 7.5 games ahead of the Giants. They have won seven of their last 10 games. Most recently, they went 2-1 in a three game series against the Rockies. The Dodgers easily beat the Rockies in the first game, but the next night was a close battle that went 16 innings until the Rockies scored the final run to win the game. The Dodgers shut out the Rockies the final night, thanks in a large part to Alex Wood, who was on the mound for eight innings and allowed only one single. Next, the Dodgers take on the Pirates at home starting on the 18th, and tickets remain available with prices as low as $6.
9/9/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers seem to be nearly unstoppable. They just finished up a winning streak before hitting the road, and they managed to rack up more consecutive wins while traveling around in their away set. The Dodgers got up to five wins, peaking at eight runs in a single game, but it ended on September 9th against the Los Angeles Angels. If this is how well the Dodgers are doing when they are not on their own field, they should really take off upon returning. That will happen on September 14, so secure your spot in the stands today. Tickets for their homecoming game against the Colorado Rockies start at just $3, so there is no reason not to attend. Come out and support your team.
9/3/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers are making a name for themselves this season as they top the leader boards in the NL West division. Winning the last seven of eight games, the Dodgers are on fire and their record is showing the results. They are currently battling it out against the San Francisco Giants who only trail the Dodgers by five wins in the NL West. On September 1, the Dodgers were able to score early in the third inning, which fueled the team both offensively and defensively to take home the 2-1 win against the Giants. The Dodgers hit the road for their next match up against the San Diego Padres starting on September 3. Tickets are still available for the four-game series and start at approximately $10 each.
8/25/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers broke their five worst losing streak of the season when they beat the Reds 5-1 on August 25. Two back-to-back doubles by Jimmy Rollins and Yasiel Puig quickly put the Dodgers on the board in the first inning. Adrian Gonzalez hit a double and was brought home by a homer by Justin Turner to bring the score to 3-0 in the third inning. Rollins also hit a two run homer in the sixth inning. The Reds were only able to get one run in the sixth, although they almost tied the game when they loaded the bases eight innings with two outs left. The two teams play twice more on the 26th and 27th, and you still have your chance to get tickets on Razorgator for as low as $2.
8/20/15 - The next time the Los Angeles Dodgers head north to face intrastate rivals in the Bay Area, it’ll surely be too soon. The boys in blue suffered another setback in NorCal, dropping both games of a short interleague set to the Athletics at O.co Coliseum. The Dodger faithful was out in full force for both contests, resulting in a rare Tuesday night sellout in a tightly contested game which saw L.A. hammer a three-run homer in the eighth inning to take a decisive lead. However, the Dodgers’ shaky bullpen faltered, allowing the A’s to rally into extra innings where they eventually stole the win. Los Angeles will head to Houston next followed by Cincinnati beginning Tuesday the 25th. Get your tickets for the Great American Ball Park from $3 and up!
8/12/15 - A disappointing series in Pittsburgh now behind them, the Los Angeles Dodgers return to the Golden State for a week before heading off to Houston. L.A. took two of three against the Nationals at Dodger Stadium, shutting out Washington by a combined 8-0 score in the final two contests. They’ll host Cincinnati for three games over the weekend before heading up the coast to square off with the Athletics in Oakland. With a 3.5 game edge over the Giants in the NL West, the Dodgers are in a good position but must secure every win possible to ensure another trip to the postseason. Tickets are on sale now for Dodgers vs. A’s on Tuesday evening, and the expected pitching matchup should be a good one as Clayton Kershaw takes on Sonny Gray. Be there with tickets starting at $30!
8/5/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers hit a minor bump as they hit they traveled to Philadelphia to take on the Phillies. Their four-game winning streak came to a close as they got their bearings against their first away opponents in more than a week. In the end, Los Angeles was behind 2-6. However, the Dodgers accommodated fast and picked up the next two wins in Philadelphia, even scoring 10 whole runs in their final matchup. Next, the Dodgers play the Pittsburgh Pirates before returning to Los Angeles. Tickets for their first match back on their own field, which will be against the Washington Nationals, start just $3. They will not be back in town long, however, as they will be leaving again on August 16th. Make sure you get your tickets before then.
7/29/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers started out strong against the Mets in their most recent four game series, wining the first two. The first game was a shutout, extending Clayton Kershaw's streak of scoreless innings to 29. The next night, the Dodgers had a strong offense, thanks to Justin Turner, who had three extra-base hits and two RBIs, which led to their 7-2 win. However, the Mets dominated in the third game, winning 15-2, and then came back the next night and won, leaving the series in a tie. The Dodgers also lost their first game against the Athletics, but they have another chance on the 29th to win before they host the Angels for a three game series that begins on July 31. You can still get tickets, with prices starting at $24.
7/22/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers are first in their division, despite losing two of three games against the Braves. In the first game, the Braves got on the board first. The Dodgers tried to catch up and had a strong four run fifth to tie it up, but the Braves got three more runs to win. The second game was also close but ended in the Braves' favor. In the final match between the two teams, the Braves got on the board first with a run in the third inning. However, the Dodgers had a strong fifth, thanks to hits by Alberto Callaspo, Jimmy Rollins, and Joc Pederson. The Dodgers head to New York to play four games against the Mets starting on July 23. Tickets remain available, with prices as low as $1.
7/14/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers certainly made the most of their series of home games. Winning six of their last nine games, the Dodgers are looking good as they prepare for their upcoming three away sets. They will be taking on the Washington Nationals, the Atlanta Braves, and the New York Mets before returning to Los Angeles. Hopefully they have built up enough momentum to hold their own even without the home field advantage. There is a five win gap between the Dodgers and the next highest team, last year's champions, the San Francisco Giants. Distancing themselves from the second place team would do wonders for their ranking as the season starts to wind down in the next couple months. The Dodgers will return on July 28th. Get your tickets now.
7/8/15 - It’s been tough for the Los Angeles Dodgers to string together consecutive wins lately, as they’ve traded their last five games with the Mets and Phillies to remain atop the NL West. L.A. will also be sending a few All-Stars to Cincinnati next week, including Yasmani Grandal (first appearance), Adrian Gonzalez (fifth), Joc Pederson (first), Zack Greinke (third), and possibly Clayton Kershaw, depending on the results of the Final Five vote which runs through this Friday. The Dodgers will hope to stop treading water and pick up some ground in the standings this weekend as they host the Brewers at home. Tickets are on sale now for all three games at Dodger Stadium including the Sunday matinee—get your seats starting at just $3 each!
7/1/15 - Six wins in their last eight outings has built a three-game cushion for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West. L.A. took it to the Diamondbacks this week, dropping just one out of four games to increase their win-loss record to 45-35 on the year. Meanwhile, the front office has been making moves on the international circuit, securing nine new overseas prospects including Cuban right-handed pitcher Yadiel Alvarez, a coveted potential starter who hits 100 MPH on the radar gun with regularity. High-stakes gambles have paid off in the past for the Dodgers, who have seen big money turn into big results with acquisitions such as Yasiel Puig in recent years. L.A. will remain at home for the first third of the month, hosting the Phillies this week for four at Dodger Stadium. Get your tickets for Thursday night starting from just $2!
6/24/15 - After a pair of frustrating losses, the Los Angeles Dodgers managed to salvage a win in Chicago to add on to their narrow NL West lead over the Giants. L.A. jumped out to a four-run advantage early behind a three-run shot from Justin Turner in the third. Adrian Gonzalez added a hit and an RBI as the Dodgers notched their 40th victory of the year. Gonzalez is still in the running for a starting spot on the NL All-Star squad but trails Paul Goldschmidt at the first base position by a healthy margin. Goldy and Gonzo will square off starting 6/29 when the Dodgers visit the Diamondbacks in Arizona. Tickets are on sale now for the series and you can claim your seats starting at $15 for the Monday opener!
6/16/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to dominate the NL West with their 37-28 record, even though they’re on a two-game losing streak. In Monday’s game against the Rangers, Yasiel Puig got frustrated, snapping a bat and shattering a light in the dugout, when he struck out three times. Carlos Frias tried to hold the Rangers back, and he shut out the team for five innings, but gave up four runs in the sixth. The Rangers won 4-1. This weekend, the Dodgers host the San Francisco Giants, starting on Friday (6/19). Get your tickets, starting at $15 and unwind after your long week at work. It’s the final chance to catch the Dodgers at home until July, so come on down to the ballpark and cheer for the home team.
6/9/15 - A three-game sweep of the Diamondbacks has helped propel the Los Angeles Dodgers back into sole possession of first place in the NL West, as they hold just a half-game lead over the defending champion Giants. The Dodgers picked up a 7-6 win over Arizona with a walk-off single from newcomer Howie Kendrick on Wednesday night, scoring Yasiel Puig from second base for the deciding run. Reliever Daniel Hudson took the loss for the D-Backs after giving up a pair of walks in the bottom of the ninth to set up Howie’s heroics. Next up for L.A. is a day of rest followed by a Friday night showdown with the Padres in San Diego. Get your seats at Petco Park starting at just $26 for opening night!
6/3/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers sit on top of the NL West with a 31-22 record, even with a loss (6-7) in Wednesday’s game against the Rockies. The Dodgers had the lead going into the ninth, but the Rockies picked up three runs and took the game. Dodgers’ Joc Pederson is the first rookie to homer in five straight games in a single season, tying with the record Matt Kemp set in 2010. The Dodgers host the St. Louis Cardinals over the weekend. Tickets for Saturday’s (6/6) game start at $6. Beginning Monday, (6/8) the Dodgers face the Arizona Diamondbacks in a three-game series. You can get tickets starting at $4 for one of these evening games. Come out and cheer for your home to win the game.
5/27/15 - Hopeful that staff ace Clayton Kershaw is rounding into form, the Los Angeles Dodgers are ready to make a push to strengthen their hold on the NL West division. They currently lead the resurgent Giants by just one game in the standings and will face the National League-leading Cardinals seven times in the next 11 days, making this a crucial stretch for L.A. The Dodgers rebounded from being swept in San Francisco with a pair of series wins over the Padres and Braves, taking two of three in each set. Kershaw and company will head to St. Louis to wrap their May schedule, and tickets for Busch Stadium are available now for all three games. Prices start at just $14 for Friday night’s opener, so come out and see two of the NL’s best go head to head!
5/19/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers are still the top team in the NL Western Division, but they have been struggling lately. While they only won half their games against the Colorado Rockies, they managed to end the set on a high note, shutting the Rockies out in their final meet. Unfortunately, the Dodgers followed this win up by being shut out themselves by the second place team in the NL Western Division, the San Francisco Giants. If the Dodgers want to hang onto the lead, they need to start taking some wins against the Giants. Once they return from their series of away games, the Dodgers will be taking on the San Diego Padres. Tickets for the first game, on May 22nd, start at only $5.
5/12/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers are on a five game winning streak, with a 22-10 record placing them first in the NL West and second overall in the NL. In Tuesday’s game against the Marlins, Miami picked up a run in the first inning, but the Dodgers came back strong, earning one run in both the third and the fourth, then gaining four runs in the fifth, and another five in the sixth. It was almost a runaway game with a final 11-1 win. The Dodgers host the Colorado Rockies in a four-game series beginning on Thursday (5/14). Tickets start at only $2 so you can bring a crowd to enjoy some great game with your family and friends. Come on out and cheer on the home team!
5/5/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers are finished with their series of home games and they managed to only lose a single game. They remained undefeated against the Arizona Diamondbacks. This strong run has brought their wins/losses to an impressive 16-9, which is just shy of the league leader. It does, however, put the Dodgers at the top of the AL Western Division by a very large margin. Their first game away from their own field was less successful, however. Despite taking an early three-point lead by the end of the fourth inning, the Milwaukee Brewers managed to catch up and win with four points. Keep an eye out to see how the Dodgers fare in the upcoming matches. They will return to Los Angeles on May 11th to play the Miami Marlins.
4/27/15 - It’s been a tough week for the Los Angeles Dodgers. After a 2-1 loss against the Giants on Monday, they learned that their star pitcher, Brandon McCarthy, has a torn ligament in his elbow and will need to undergo surgery to repair it. With McCarthy likely gone for the rest of the season, the team managers will have to work the bullpen carefully in order to prevent stress and injury from overuse of backup pitchers. As the series with the Giants finishes tonight (Wednesday), relievers Yimi Garcia, Kenley Jansen, Angel Pagan and Buster Posey will have their chance to shine on the mound. Next up for the Dodgers is a series against Arizona at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Our tickets for the three-game series on May 1-3 start at just $5.
4/22/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers were on a seven-game winning streak until they traveled to San Francisco to meet the Giants. The long-time rivals met on Tuesday, and the Giants won in a 2-6 final, surprising everyone because the Dodgers were in first place in the National League, and the Giants were in last. The Dodgers continue their games against the Giants, then they fly south to San Diego for three weekend games against the Padres. On Monday (4/27), the Dodgers come back to Los Angeles to host the San Francisco Giants for a rematch on home turf. Get your tickets now starting at $9 for great seats to see these two teams battle it out on the field. The Giants will be in town on Tuesday and Wednesday also.
4/16/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers are on a four-game winning streak, shutting out the Seattle Mariners in the three game series. Adrian Gonzalez went 2-for-5 on Wednesday; the first Dodger to accomplish this feat since Jackie Robinson did it in 1952. It was even more symbolic because it happened on Jackie Robinson Day while Gonzalez wore the famous “42.” When the Dodgers are in town, the best place to catch them is at Dodger Stadium because of the lack of television air time in the area. In the upcoming weekend, the Dodgers host the Colorado Rockies, beginning on Friday (4/17). Tickets for this evening game start at $9, and you won’t find a better way to unwind after a long week of work. Don’t miss out, because after Sunday’s game, the Dodgers go back out on the road.
4/7/15 - Behind the bats of offseason middle-infield acquisitions Howie Kendrick and Jimmy Rollins, the Los Angeles Dodgers overcame visiting San Diego – who picked up former Dodger outfielder Matt Kemp in the offseason – by a 6-3 count. Rollins’ eighth-inning blast into the right field corner made the difference for the Dodgers.
3/31/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers got a bit of a scare on Tuesday when outfielder Andre Ethier was hit by a pitch and had to leave the team’s Spring Training game. However, postgame x-rays of Ethier’s elbow, where he had been struck by the pitch, showed no damage.
3/24/15 - The big news out of the Camelback Ranch camp of the Los Angeles Dodgers has to be the signing of Cuban free agent infielder Hector Olivera. Olivera was inked to a six-year contract, said to be front-loaded, worth $62.5 million, with the 30-year-old getting a sizable signing bonus; it’s unclear at the moment what position Olivera will play, or where he will start the season.
3/17/15 - With Spring Training 2015 well underway, fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers were able to catch a preview of a possible World Series matchup over the weekend. The Dodgers took on the Seattle Mariners at a packed Camelback Ranch Stadium in Glendale, AZ. It was a close game until the top of the eighth inning, when Darwin Barney nailed a two run home run to increase the Dodgers’ lead by three. Alex Guerrero continued the late game tear, hitting a single to score Enrique Hernandez. The Dodgers ultimately came out on top, winning the thrilling match up 5 – 2. The Chicago Cubs will be the Dodgers’ next opponent when they square off at Camelback Ranch on Wednesday. Our tickets are still available at varying prices.
3/9/15 - Fun story out of Camelback Ranch today: The Los Angeles Dodgers are “enlisting” a number of Air Force men from nearby Luke Air Force Base to help out, shagging fly balls during batting practice. The Dodgers say they wanted to save wear and tear on their pitchers, as well as reach out to the local community. The idea came from Nick Francona, Dodgers assistant director of player development (and yes, son of Cleveland manager Terry), who served in Afghanistan.
3/3/15 - Along with most of the clubs in the Cactus League, the Los Angeles Dodgers are set to kick off their Spring Training slate this week. The Boys in Blue will square off against their Camelback Ranch campmates, the Chicago White Sox, on Wednesday afternoon, with Erik Bedard scheduled to fire the first pitch. Super lefty Clayton Kershaw is set to not only face the Chisox on Thursday, he has been announced as the Dodgers’ Opening Day starter by manager Don Mattingly.
2/19/15 - The Los Angeles Dodgers had their closer, Kenley Jansen, undergoing foot surgery recently and it looks like he is going to be out of the game for at least 12 weeks. This raises the question of who will be replacing him. The Dodgers' preseason is set to start in just under two weeks. The popular opinion is that Los Angeles might recruit the Detroit Tiger's Joba Chamberlain because he is one of only a few right-handed relievers left free. Regardless of the outcome, we will know soon enough. After 16 preseason games, the Dodgers begin their regular season on April 6th taking on the San Diego Padres. If you would like to catch them right at the start of their 2015 season, get your tickets soon because they are now starting at $76.
1/27/15 - As Los Angeles Dodgers fans await the official start of the 2015 MLB season, they are anxiously looking for any news about who will be join the team for the upcoming season, especially with the loss of Matt Kemp and Hanley Ramirez. One of the biggest rumors centers on the star Cuban second basemen Yoan Moncado. According to rumors, Moncado joined the team for a private workout that was attended by Andrew Friedman, the president of baseball operations, and Don Mattingly, the manager of the team. Moncado is reportedly one of the best teenager ballplayers out of Cuba since Jorge Soler. The first preseason game for the Dodgers is set for March 4th against the Chicago White Sox at Camelback Ranch in Arizona. Tickets are on sale, starting at $4.
