Chicago White Sox 2016 News and Updates

After losing a series against the Royals 1-2, the Chicago White Sox host the Indians for four games, the first of which they won. It was a tight game, with the teams going into the eight inning with the White Sox ahead 7-3. The Indians scored 3 rusn in the eight to get the game to just one point. The White Sox retained their lead despite not scoring another run in the bottom of the eighth. The White Sox will look to continue their dominance and take the series against the Indians. The teams play again every night from the 23-25. You can still get tickets to all games, with prices starting at just $4.

The four-game winning streak set by the Chicago White Sox finally came to an end last night, at the hands of the Texas Rangers. Despite the loss, Chicago is still ranked first in the American League Central. It was a brutal defeat for the White Sox, who were on the road in Arlington, TX, as they looked like they were going to go home victorious in the top of the fourth inning. Chicago was leading Texas 10-5 in the fourth inning, but things took a turn for the worst in the bottom of the eighth. The Rangers scored 7 runs to ultimately win the game 13-11. Chicago will head home to play the Houston Astros on May 17. Tickets are $4.

As the Chicago White Sox prepare to head out on the road, fans hope they will be able to maintain their winning streak while playing without the home field advantage. Right now, the Whitesox have won their last five matchups, putting their season record at 15-6 and firmly securing them in the number one position of American League Central. They will be facing the Baltimore Orioles, then will make their big return on May 3rd to host the Boston Red Sox. Be sure to get your tickets to secure your spot in the stands to cheer the Whitesox on as they head back to Chicago to take a short break on their own field.

As Spring Training winds down, the Chicago White Sox beat the Rangers on March 29 in their penultimate Spring Training game. With the win, they have their first winning record in the Cactus League since 2004. Chris Sale was on the mound for 5 1/3 innings, during which he only let the Rangers get one run and had five strike outs with no walks. The White Sox' final game in Goodyear will be on March 30, and then they head to San Diego to play two exhibition games before Opening Day in Oakland on April 4. You can still get tickets to the game against the Athletics for $29 and up.

3/18/16 - The White Sox may be without first baseman Adam LaRoche this season, who filled out his retirement paperwork over a disagreement regarding how often his son would come to the clubhouse. Club President Kenny Williams felt that his son should not be there on a daily basis, and LaRoche did not wish to reduce the amount of time he could spend with his children. The team considered a boycott in support of LaRoche, but ultimately played the game. Although LaRoche has filled out the paperwork to retire, the franchise is giving him time to reconsider before they file the paperwork with the league. Fans can still get tickets to catch the Spring Training games in Arizona, with prices starting at $19.

2015 Season

9/21/15 - Unlike the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago White Sox haven’t had a fruitful season so far. They just finished up their four-game series against the Detroit Tigers and left the Comerica Park in Detroit with two wins and two losses. Their last game against the Tigers was on September 23 and the Tigers pulled off the 7-4 win. Coming out from the dugout hot, the Tigers scored two runs in the first inning of the game, followed up by four more in the third inning. The White Sox weren’t able to put any numbers on the scoreboard until the fourth inning, when they turned their goose egg score into a two. Watch the White Sox live when they face off against the New York Yankees starting on September 24.

9/14/15 - The Chicago White Sox beat the Oakland Athletics in the first of four games in the current series. Although the White Sox had more than double the hits of the A's, the A's were able to tie up the game in the top of the ninth inning, sending it into overtime. Melky Cabrera hit an RBI single in the bottom of the fourteenth inning to finally end the game with a walk off win for the White Sox. During the game, Jose Abreau, who had 4 RBIs, and Trayce Thompson had two-run homers. Unfortunately, the winning momentum did not follow the White Sox thee next night when they lost 17-6. The two teams play twice more on the 16th and 17th, and then the White Sox head to Cleveland. Tickets remain available for just $2.

9/7/15 - Unlike so many other teams in the league right now, the Chicago White Sox were able to thrive in during their recent away sets. Winning the final four away games, after an entire series of being worn down with visiting team disadvantages, is an impressive feat. Following up their winning streak, the White Sox have won one home game against the Cleveland Indians on September 8th. There are just two short sets remaining before the White Sox hit the road again, so be sure to get your tickets and catch them live soon. They will play the Minnesota Twins and the Oakland Athletics, and then they leave on September 17th. If you are hoping to get tickets, many are still available with very low prices.

8/31/15 - The Chicago White Sox haven’t been consistent enough this season to have a grand slam of a season, but they also aren’t one of the worst. They continue to go back and forth with a few wins then a few losses in a row and haven’t been able to get on a good streak for the past few weeks. They started a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins on September 1 and were unfortunately beat 6-8. The Twins got off to a good start and pulled in four runs during the second inning alone. The White Sox weren’t able to answer until the fifth inning when they finally brought home three players. Although the White Sox fought hard, they just couldn’t pull it off. Watch them live to see if the next game will be as good of a nail biter.

8/24/15 - After losing the first game in a three game series against the Red Sox, the Chicago White Sox came back the next night to win. After a back and forth game, the White Sox scored three runs in the seventh inning to take the lead and win. Trayce Thompson's two run double, which was his third hit of the night, helped the White Sox secure their victory over the Red Sox. Carlos Sanchez and Melky Cabrera also had RBIs during the game. The two teams play one more game before the White Sox host the Mariners for a four game series starting on the 27. There are still plenty of tickets available to watch the teams in action. You can find tickets with prices as low as $4 on Razorgator.

8/17/15 - It took another Chicago team to halt the Cubs’ nine-game winning streak. The Chicago White Sox picked up their 55th win of the year, 3-1 over the Cubbies behind yet another dominant performance from one Chris Sale. The lanky lefty allowed just one hit in seven innings pitched, walking two and striking out a staggering 15 batters in the process. Sale leads the American League in punch-outs with 208, and only Clayton Kershaw (211) has tallied more in 2015. The Sox are still in the running for a Wild Card position, but time’s running out if they’re hoping to make a move this year. Next up for Chicago is a three-game set at the Mariners in Seattle, and tickets are on sale now! Get in to Safeco Field starting at $17 for Friday night’s game.

8/10/15 - Putting the weekend sweep at the hands of the Royals behind them, the Chicago White Sox bounced back with an 8-2 victory over the slumping L.A. Angels. Staff ace Chris Sale shook off a pair of subpar starts with a more typical Sale-type game, striking out seven batters in as many innings while letting through just two runs on five hits. The starter picked up his 10th win of the season, keeping the Sox out of the cellar in the process. Chicago remains ahead of Cleveland for last place in the AL Central, but they’re not fully out of the wild card race—sitting 6.5 games out, the possibility is there for a big run if their power arms can get going. Check out Sox vs. Cubs at US Cellular Field this Friday night, tickets start at $34!

8/4/15 - The Chicago White Sox were on a winning streak last week while travelling on the road, but they seem to be struggling slightly now. Strangely, their troubles began when they returned to their own field. Unfortunately, the home field advantage does not seem to be having much of an impact because the White Sox have only won one of their last six games, most recently losing 11-3 to the Tampa Bay Rays. Since they were doing better in away games, maybe the upcoming single away set, against the Kansas City Royals, will give them an opportunity to turn things around. Do not worry, however; the White Sox will be back in Chicago starting August 10th to take on the Los Angeles Angels. Get your tickets today.

7/27/15 - The Chicago White Sox are in the midst of a five game winning streak. They won all four games against the Indians, and they started a four game series against the Red Sox with a win. In their latest victory, they got ahead early, with a four-run first inning. However, the game remained close with the Red Sox getting ahead for a bit. However, two runs in the seventh, thanks to RBI singles by Tyler Flowers and Adam Eaton, brought the White Sox back in the lead. Another run in the ninth secured their victory. The two teams face off again on the 28, 29, and 30 before the White Sox head home to host the Yankees. You can still get your tickets to see the team play, with ticket prices starting at $24.

7/20/15 - The Chicago White Sox have been unable to repeat the four game winning streak they had earlier in the month. After losing to the Cubs, they started a four game series against the Royals with a loss. The second of the doubleheader games went their way, when they won 2-0. Tyler Flowers hit an RBI single and Melky Cabrera scored on a wild pitch in the sixth inning. The third game went 13 innings before the Royals scored the winning run, and the Royals won the fourth game as well. The White Sox are 0-1 in a two game series against the Cardinals and will look to break their losing streak when they face off on July 22. Then they head to Cleveland for four games, for which you can still get tickets starting at $5.

7/13/15 - The Chicago White Sox ended their four-game winning streak on July 12th when they lost to the Chicago Cubs 1-3. They are, however, now entering back to back sets on their own field, which is an excellent opportunity to move up. Even though the White Sox are currently bringing up the rear of the AL Central Division, they are just one win away from the number four spot, held by the Cleveland Indians. The division leader, however, has built up a bit of a buffer. If the White Sox have any hope of catching up, they will need to close the 11 win gap between them. They can get started on that monumental task with a four-game set with the Kansas City Royals that shows great potential.

7/6/15 - Winners of five out of their last six contests, the Chicago White Sox are building momentum and just a win away from scratching out of last place in the AL Central. The ChiSox continue to battle with the Indians for fourth place overall in the division, with both teams looking up at the Tigers, Twins and Royals in the top three spots. Chicago will finish up a four-game series against the Blue Jays this week before taking on the Cubs at Wrigley Field in a three-game interleague set. Seats are on sale now for all three contests so claim yours now! Get in for the afternoon matchups Friday and Saturday starting at $55 or come out for the Sunday matinee game with tickets from $71.

6/29/15 - After running over the Cardinals on the road in interleague play, the Chicago White Sox might not be so excited to return home for American League competition. The ChiSox took it to the Redbirds, defeating them by a total score of 9-2 in a short two-game set in St. Louis. All-Star candidate Chris Sale continued his historic strikeout streak, mowing down 12 batters while picking up his first base hit and scored run, all in the same night. The hot bats came out for the Sox on Wednesday night, ripping off five runs in the top of the ninth to put a 2-1 game well out of reach and close out the sweep. Next up for Chicago is a big four-game series with Toronto beginning 7/6. Get your tickets for US Cellular Field now! Seats for Wednesday night start at just $4.

6/22/15 - Bouncing back from an ugly 13-2 drubbing, the Chicago White Sox handed the Twins a 6-2 loss behind seven strong innings from Jeff Samardzija. The Shark scattered eight hits to allow just two earned runs while his opposition, Mike Pelfrey, gave up 10 hits and allowed three to score to notch only Samaradzija’s second win in nine road starts. Catcher Geovany Soto put two across the plate with a pair of singles and Melky Cabrera gave the ChiSox the lead in the top of the seventh to power the offense. The Sox open a four-game series in Detroit on Thursday afternoon and tickets are on sale now for all four contests. Get in starting at $12 for Thursday’s early game or from $23 on Friday night.

6/15/15 - The Chicago White Sox liked where things were heading after they completed a three-game sweep against the Astros earlier this month. However, everything has seemed to head south since then. The Rays took it to the White Sox and swept them last week, not leaving the White Sox a chance to take home a win. The Pirates are their current competition and the White Sox were shutout in an embarrassing 0-11 loss during their first game. See if the White Sox can pull themselves together to end their four-game slump. Tickets for their upcoming games are starting at an affordable $1 a piece. The weather is supposed to be outstanding this week in Chicago, so now’s the time to get your baseball fix in before it gets too hot.

6/11/15 - Even though the Chicago White Sox struggled against the Detroit Tigers, they managed to end their series of home games on a high note and remain undefeated against the Houston Astros. They now travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Rays. It will not be long before they are back in Chicago, however. Their homecoming game will be on June 17th. Tickets start as low as just $1. The White Sox are currently in the number four position in the AL Central Division, but this division is tightly packed. Despite their low rank, they are only a small handful of wins away from the Kansas City Royals at the top. If the White Sox's winning streak continues, they will not have anything to worry about.

6/1/15 - The Chicago White Sox have been trading wins with teams in Texas for about a week straight now, taking two of three against the AL-best Astros and splitting the first two games against the Rangers in what’s shaping up to be an odd series. Each team has taken a lopsided win thus far—Texas opened with a 15-2 runaway victory on 19 hits before Chicago responded with a 9-2 drubbing the next night behind seven scoreless innings thrown by staff ace Chris Sale. The Sox and Rangers will play the rubber match on Thursday evening to decide the series before Chicago returns home to host the Tigers. Get your tickets for US Cellular Field starting at just $6 each for Friday and Saturday night’s contests or come out for the early game on Sunday with seats from $7!

5/25/15 - After dropping four straight, the Chicago White Sox finally pulled out of their recent tail spin with a 5-3 win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday afternoon. Chicago thought they had a victory in hand on Tuesday after posting three runs in the top of the eighth inning to take a 9-7 lead, but Josh Donaldson broke out for Toronto with a 4-for-4 game including an epic walk-off three-run homer to steal a 10-9 win. The White Sox rebounded with a hard-fought 10th inning victory behind a clutch single from Adam LaRoche, lifting them back to a 20-24 record and a step closer to the .500 mark. They’ll continue to fight their way up the AL Central ranks starting on Friday as they open a series with the Astros in Houston. Tickets are available now for Minute Maid Park starting at $26 for opening night!

5/18/15 - Playing as well as any team in the majors including the Nationals, the Chicago White Sox have gone 8-2 over their last 10 games. They haven’t suffered a loss since dropping their first game of a six-game road trip to Milwaukee, 10-7. The Sox bounced back to beat the Brewers twice, each time by a score of 4-2, then swept the A’s in three games at O.co Coliseum. Chicago continued their winning ways at home with a 2-1 triumph over Cleveland on Monday, and they’ll host the Indians for three more this week at US Cellular Field. There are great seats on sale now for each remaining game, with tickets priced as low as $3! Come out to the ballpark and see if the White Sox can make it seven straight!

5/13/15 - After suffering a 10-7 setback in Milwaukee on Monday, the Chicago White Sox rebounded with a pair of 4-2 wins against the Brewers to boost their overall season record to 14-17. The Sox are trying to battle their way up the ranks of a highly competitive AL Central division which includes the Tigers and Royals, two of the top clubs in the majors this year. Jose Quintana tallied 10 strikeouts and spread four hits over seven innings to buoy Chicago in their closing game against the Crew, giving the Sox some much-needed momentum as they hit the road for a series in Oakland at O.co Coliseum. Be there live as the White Sox take on the Athletics on Friday night, with tickets starting at just $21!

5/4/15 - One month into the 2015 season, the Chicago White Sox have found themselves on the outside looking in on a tough AL Central division. Their 9-14 record puts them just a game ahead of last-place Cleveland and three behind Minnesota, with the powerful Tigers and Royals currently atop the group. The ChiSox will look to build on Tuesday’s win over Detroit at home, with two more games to come followed by home sets against the Reds and Indians. Tickets are on sale now for these games and many more at US Cellular Field in Chicago! Get your seats for Tigers vs. White Sox on Thursday night starting at just $4, or come out on Thursday afternoon for the series finale with tickets starting at $5.

4/27/15 - Playing in one of the toughest divisions in baseball, the Chicago White Sox have built an early season record of 8-9 after opening 0-4. It has been a strange start to the 2015 campaign for Chicago, which has seen three games postponed—one due to weather and two in response to protests and riots in the Baltimore area, impacting their series versus the Oriels. A large bench-clearing brawl during their recent series against the Kansas City Royals resulted in suspensions for star pitchers Chris Sale and Jeff Samardzija, penalties which have been appealed and may or may not result in a lost start for each. The Sox will head to Minnesota on Thursday to begin a four-game set versus the Twins, and tickets are on sale now for Target Field. Get yours starting at just $5!

4/21/15 - The Chicago White Sox have one more chance to come away the victors in their three game series against the Indians. They won the first match on April 20 4-3. The Indians were ahead for most of the game, having scored a run in the second, third, and fifth inning. However, the White Sox came back in the bottom of the ninth, scoring four runs to win. A double by Alexei Ramirez brought in two runs, Gordon Beckham brought in the tying run on a single, and Melky Cabrera's single brought in the winning run. However, the Indians came back to win on the 21. The teams meet again on the 22nd. Then, the White Sox host the Royals for a four game series. Tickets remain on sale, with prices as low as $2.

4/15/15 - After starting the season with a four game losing streak, the Chicago White Sox have turned things around, winning their last three games. They won a three game series against the Twins 2-1, and have started their two games against the Indians with a 4-1 win. Jose Quintana was on the mound for the White Sox, and he was able to keep Cleveland to just one unearned run for the six innings he played. He also had six strike outs and only three hits. Jose Abreau hit a home run, which was his second of the season. The White Sox play the Indians one more time on the 15th before they head to Detroit to face the Tigers. Tickets are on sale, with prices starting at $7.

4/10/15 - The Chicago White Sox haven’t had their home opener yet, but they did have a series of games on the road against the Kansas City Royals. So far the White Sox haven’t been able to add a victory to their record. The game on April 8 against the Royals was full of energy and excitement, even though the Royals left with the 7-5 victory. Starting the seventh inning, the score was tied at 5-5, but that tie was broken by Lorenzo Cain from the Royals who hit a 2-run homer in the eighth inning to win the game. Watch the White Sox hit the field during their game opener on April 10 against the Minnesota Twins. Tickets for that game and the following weekend games are still available. Tickets for Friday start at $59.

3/26/15 - The Chicago White Sox have announced that Jeff Samardzija is the Opening Day starter when Chicago plays at Kansas City on April 6. Chicago is looking past their disappointing record in the Cactus League of 8-11 to their first games in the regular MLB season. The White Sox have just a few games left at Camelback Ranch, so you’ll want to get your tickets to see them before they leave. On Saturday (3/28), the White Sox host the Oakland Athletics. Tickets start at $34. Monday’s game matches up the White Sox with the Cleveland Indians. Wednesday (4/1), the final home game of the spring training season, offers a chance to see the San Diego Padres face the White Sox. Get your tickets now and enjoy some great baseball.

3/19/15 - Gordon Beckham and newly-acquired catcher Geovany Soto each hit home runs to help power the Chicago White Sox to a 9-4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday afternoon, lifting the Sox to a 6-7 record in Cactus League standings. Alexei Ramirez knocked in two more runs with a double off of Reds starter Jason Marquis, who had a rough outing after being named to his team’s regular season rotation earlier in the week. The White Sox will take on their in-state rival Cubs at Camelback Ranch in Glendale on Friday, and seats are still available from $38. Saturday afternoon, the ChiSox will get a chance to match up with last year’s AL champion Kansas City Royals, and you can be a part of the action for as low as $19.

3/9/15 - After five games in the Cactus League, the Chicago White Sox have a 2-3 record. In Monday’s game, they tied the Arizona Diamondbacks, scoring two runs in the seventh inning to tie the game at 2-2. Arizona scored again the eighth, then in the bottom of the ninth, Micah Johnson hit a homer to tie up the game. The White Sox have a home game on Sunday (3/15) at Camelback Ranch against the Los Angeles Angels. Tickets start at $17. Enjoy a game of baseball on your weekend to relax and unwind. On Tuesday (3/17), the White Sox host the Seattle Mariners. Tickets start at $20. If you’re on spring break, you don’t have to skip class to come down to see these great teams play baseball.

3/2/15 - The Chicago White Sox are mourning the loss of a legend as they begin spring training. Their first black player, Minnie MInoso passed away. He hadn’t played for 35 years, but he was a big part of the Chicago team for many years. His Number 9 was retired in 1983. The White Sox remember him fondly. With spring training games opening on Thursday (3/5), the White Sox host the Los Angeles Dodgers at Camelback Ranch. Tickets start at $23. On Saturday (3/7), they host the Seattle Mariners. The Arizona Diamondbacks face off against the White Sox on Monday (3/9). We have great seats at great prices. Wednesday (3/11) gives you the opportunity to see the Texas Rangers and the White Sox. Tickets start at $12 for this afternoon game.

2/9/15 - The Chicago White Sox had a very disappointing season in 2014, but it is now time for another opportunity for a clean slate. The MLB 2015 season is just about two months off, but the excitement is getting started early. The White Sox will have their first pre-season game on March 4th at the Dodgers' field, but their home opener is on the 5th. The Chicago White Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers will face off one more time, and you can attend for as little as $12. Tickets are going fast, however, so if you want to start this season off right by cheering the White Sox to victory, you need to act fast. The first home game of the actual season will be on April 10th against the Minnesota Twins.
