Baltimore Orioles 2016 News and Updates

The Baltimore Orioles won their latest series against the Red Sox with a 2-1 record. The Orioles won the first game 3-2. The Red Sox won the second game, but the Orioles reasserted their dominance in the third game. They were able to hold the Red Sox to a solitary run in the ninth inning and scored five runs themselves. Tom Wilson was on the mound for eight innings and only allowed the Red Sox just three hits. Adam Jones had a two-run homer and got another RBI on a double. Up next for the Orioles is a three game series against the Blue Jays at home starting on June 17. You can still get tickets for prices starting at $20.

The Baltimore Orioles came out the victors in their latest match up against the Angels, despite losing the last of the three games. In the first game, the Orioles came out strong, scoring two runs in the first inning, and remained in the lead throughout the game to win 9-4. The next night seemed as though the game might go the Angels' way when the teams went into the 9th inning with the Angels ahead 1-0. The Orioles scored three runs in the ninth inning to take the game, thanks to a 3 run homer from Matt Wieters. The Orioles next play the Astros in Houston starting on May 24. You can still get tickets for just $3.

The Baltimore Orioles officially have a three-game winning streak going and are currently sitting at first place in the American League East. They added the third victory last night, after defeating the Minnesota Twins on the road. Minnesota took the early lead with a single run scored in the bottom of the first inning, however the Orioles were able to rally to score a run of their own in the fourth inning, following by two more in the fifth. The Twins made a run for it to tie the game 3-3 in the sixth inning, but Baltimore added two runs in the ninth to give them the win. Tickets to their next home game on Thursday start at $11.

While the Baltimore Orioles have been doing incredibly well this season, they have struggled slightly in this most recent away set against the Kansas City Royals. Before April 22nd, the Orioles were sitting with an impressive season record of 10-4. Now, however, they have 11-8. Still, this is enough to secure the number one spot in the American League East, but they should turn things around now if they want to maintain their lead. Coming up, the Orioles will be heading back to Baltimore to host the Chicago White Sox on April 28th. Ticket for this game, as well as the other three in this set, are available so you can come out and show your support.

The Baltimore Orioles were able to tie the Braves in their latest Spring Training game against the Braves on the 29. In the ninth inning, Garabez Rosa hit a single to bring in the tying run. Miguel Gonzalez started on the mound and only let the Braves have five hits and one run while also striking out four. Zach Phillips came in to relive Gonzalez in the sixth inning, and the Braves were able to bring in three runs. Matt Wieters and Manny Machado both had homers and Mark Trumbo had an RBI in the sixth inning. With just a few days left of Spring Training, the Orioles next play the Tigers on the 30. You can still get tickets for $25 and up.

3/14/16 - Spring Training is going strong, and the Baltimore Orioles are working their team to determine who makes the roster, and who gets sent to the minor leagues. Catcher Matt Wieters has been out due to an elbow injury, but this week he received good news after an MRI: no structural damage. He will still need to work to get ride of the soreness, but his prognosis is good. The Orioles have gotten some wins in their Spring Training games, but their most recent game was a tie against the Blue Jays. They play the Pirates next on the 16, and they have games almost every day. You can still get tickets for most, with prices starting at $32.

2015 Season

9/21/15 - The Baltimore Orioles have had a season that continues to go back and forth with wins and losses. Not much has changed in their recent match ups, including their Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays games. The Orioles were able to win two games in a row against the Red Sox, but they went back and forth with the Rays resulting in each team taking home two wins and two losses a piece. They are currently facing off against the Washington Nationals and were happy with their 4-1 win on September 22. See if the Orioles can take home another victory against the Nationals when they play on September 24. Tickets are still up for grabs and start at an affordable $3 a ticket.

9/14/15 - The Baltimore Orioles have won six of their last seven games. After shutting out the Red Sox in the first of three games, the two teams battled it out until the Orioles finally scored the winning run in the 13th inning thanks to Chris Davis' RBI single. The Orioles had the early lead, thanks to four runs in the third inning, of which two came from Steve Pearce's homer. However, the Red Sox equalized the game in the fifth inning. The Orioles were able to get one that inning to gain the lead, but the Red Sox once again equalized. The two teams play once more on the 16th, and then the Orioles head to Tampa Bay to play a four-game series against the Rays. You can still get your tickets, with prices as low as $3.

9/7/15 - The Baltimore Orioles are returning to their home field. Through this most recent series of away games, they managed to win exactly half of their matches. It is not the best record, but holding your own with the visiting team disadvantage is respectable. Plus, they were able to finish the series with back to back victories against the New York Yankees. Now that they have returned, the Orioles will be hosting the Kansas City Royals. If you are waiting for an opportunity to catch them in action, this is your chance. Before hitting the road again, they will be playing the Boston Red Sox as well, so you have six matches to choose from. Get your tickets early and secure your place in the stands to cheer them to victory.

8/31/15 - The Baltimore Orioles haven’t had the results they were hoping for these past few weeks and are in a definitive slump. Losing their last six games in a row, the Orioles are desperate to put a victory up on the board. They are currently in a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays and have one more hope for a win against the Florida team. On September 1 the Orioles took a beating from the Rays, walking away from their home field with only two runs against the Rays eleven. See what the Orioles can do in game three on September 2. Tickets are still up for grabs and start at an affordable $5 each. Don’t miss your opportunity to see a live professional baseball game played before the summer is over.

8/24/15 - After a solid series against the A's and the Mets, the Baltimore Orioles have found themselves in the midst of a five-game losing streak. The team lost all four games against the Twins in the latest series, and then started off a four game series against the Royals with another loss. The last game against the Twins was a close one, going twelve innings before the Twins scored the final run. The Orioles started off the game against the Royals strong, with two runs right off the bat. However, they allowed the Royals to get seven runs in the sixth without answering back. The teams play again on the 25, 26, and 27, with plenty of chances for the Orioles to end this streak. You still have a chance to get your tickets, with prices starting at just $5.

8/17/15 - After finding themselves on the wrong side of a no-hitter thrown by Mariners pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma, the Baltimore Orioles recovered in a big way. The Birds swept the Oakland A’s over the weekend, winning four games in just about every fashion imaginable. Baltimore scored their first win 8-6 on a two-run walk-off homer to start the series, Manny Machado delivering the winner in the 13th inning. The next evening, Chris Davis turned in his own walk-off homer, a solo shot to win it in the ninth. Then the Orioles decided to stop with the nail-biters, hammering Oakland 18-2 before finishing the A’s off 4-2 in the closer. Now right back in the thick of the Wild Card race, the O’s face the Minnesota Twins at Camden Yards. Get your tickets for Saturday night from $13!

8/10/15 - Ten days into the month of August, the Baltimore Orioles have yet to win or lose consecutive games. They’ve taken turns trading wins with AL rivals Detroit, Oakland, and L.A., most recently picking up a 3-2 victory over the Mariners in Seattle. Wei-Yin Chen picked up the win, his sixth of the year. The Birds are just 4.5 games back in the wild card race, and with 13 more games versus the Yankees and Blue Jays, the opportunity is right there waiting for them to shake up the 2015 playoffs. The O’s will host the A’s at in a four-game set at Camden Yards beginning this Friday and tickets are on sale now! Get your seats for Orioles vs. Athletics at Oriole Park starting from just $9 each!

8/3/15 - The Baltimore Orioles continue to do fine, but they have not taken off yet. They have won three of the last five games, which means they are winning more than they are losing, but they still occasionally have a very rough loss. The Orioles won by an incredible 9-2 one day, but completely fail to score a single run the following day. Currently the Oakland Athletics are keeping the Orioles on their toes. Hopefully they will be able to add some consistency to their performance in the coming matchups. The Orioles are playing through an away series currently, but they will return to Baltimore on August 14th for a rematch against the Athletics. Tickets are already available for their homecoming, starting as low as $9.

7/27/15 - The Baltimore Orioles have exchanged their four game losing streak into a budding winning streak after winning the last three in a row. They lost the first game in a three game series against the Rays. Then, they won the second game, largely thanks Chris Davis' grand slam in the third inning. The next night, the Orioles started out strong with a three run first inning thanks to hits by J.J. Hardy and Nolan Reimold. Caleb Joseph's two-run homer in the fourth secured the win for the team. They now face the Braves at home, with the first game ending in their favor after 11 innings of play. They two teams meet again on the 28th and 29th, and then the Braves host the Tigers for four games starting on the 30th. You can get tickets starting at $17.

7/20/15 - After losing the first game in a three game series against the Tigers, the Baltimore Orioles won the next two to win the series. In game two, the Orioles shut out the Tigers. Chris Tillman went eight innings on the mound, allowing only one single. Manny Machado snagged his 20th home run during the third inning, and the Orioles scored twice in the ninth to secure the win. The next night, the Orioles dominated the Tigers for a 9-3 win, largely thanks to a six-run fourth inning in which 10 Orioles batters tallied up seven hits, including Jonathan Schoop who had a three run homer. The Orioles are now in New York for a three game series against the Yankees that began with a loss. You can still get tickets for the rest, with prices starting at $34.

7/13/15 - The Baltimore Orioles have not been doing well lately, but they still are highly ranked in their division. After failing to Minnesota Twins, they won one out of three matchups against the Washington Nationals. This means the Orioles have won two of their last seven games. While this is disappointing, they are just four wins away from the division leader, the New York Yankees. Unfortunately, the Orioles are now hitting the road and will not return until July 27th. Hopefully they are able to hold their own while taking on the Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, and Tampa Bay Rays on their own fields. Secure your spot in the stands for the Orioles big return to Baltimore now. Tickets are already available starting as low as $5.

7/6/15 - It’s been a pretty tough week for the Baltimore Orioles, who have dropped four of their last five to allow the Yankees to preserve their hold on first place in the AL East. On the bright side, the O’s are once again sending multiple position players to the All-Star Game this year, with sluggers Adam Jones and Manny Machado getting reserve nods for the Fall Classic. After concluding their current three-game set versus the Twins, Baltimore will return to Camden Yards to host the dangerous Nationals in interleague play over the weekend. Tickets are on sale now for all three games so secure your seats early! Be a part of the excitement on Saturday night from just $15 or check out the Sunday matinee game with seats starting at $29 each.

6/29/15 - Manny Machado was one of the hottest hitters in Major League Baseball last week, and his offensive output has helped lift the Baltimore Orioles back into second place among AL East competition. The O’s came up short in three out of four games against the Rangers at home, their starting pitching faltering as Texas erupted for 16 runs total in the first two games. They’ll look to get back on track against the AL Central this week as they face off with the White Sox and Twins each in three-game series. Starting on 7/10, Baltimore will host the NL East-leading Nationals for three games at Camden Yards. Playing by American League rules, will the O’s have the advantage they need to get past one of the toughest starting rotations in the bigs? Come find out on Friday the 10th with tickets from just $11!

6/22/15 - David Lough belted a three-run homer in the top of the second to propel the Baltimore Orioles to a series-opening 6-4 win over the Red Sox on Tuesday night. With resident power bat Adam Jones currently on the DL, Lough’s contribution was huge for the O’s, who moved within a half-game of the slumping Yankees for second place in the AL East. Meanwhile, Jones sits at seventh in All-Star voting among American League outfielders. Manny Machado ranks fourth among third basemen, wrapping the current Baltimore potentials in a Royals-heavy voting year. The Orioles will close out two more in Boston before returning home to Camden Yards for three big games against the Indians. Secure your seats for Cleveland vs. Baltimore now starting at just $14 for Friday’s opener!

6/15/15 - Even though the Baltimore Orioles are in fourth place in the AL East conference, they have had some amazing winning streaks on their record. Coming off of a six straight wins, the Orioles lost in a close match up against the Yankees on Sunday. However, they redeemed themselves when they took on the Phillies yesterday with a 4-0 win. Orioles pitcher, Wei-Yin Chen struck out nine Phillies and walked just one single player. Matt Wieters also helped in a big way by slamming a ball home, sending in three runs to add to the scoreboard. Tickets are still available to watch the Orioles finish up their four-game series with the Phillies. See if they can sweep them by purchasing a ticket starting at $4 a piece.

6/1/15 - With five straight losses including a pair of shutouts at the hands of the Rays, the Baltimore Orioles have dropped to 23-39 on the season and last place in the AL East. Baltimore has lost each of the five games by two runs or more, dropping three straight to the Astros on the road. Wei-Yin Chen takes the mound for the O’s in the final game in Houston, trying to avoid a four-game sweep. He brings a 3.21 ERA with him into the game, but has just one win in five decisions due to a lack of run support this season. Baltimore will head to Progressive Field for a three-game set versus the Indians starting Friday night and tickets are on sale now! Limited seats for the opener start at $50 or you can check out Saturday’s afternoon tilt from $17 and up.

5/25/15 - The Baltimore Orioles are currently ranked as the number three team in the east division of the American League with 22 wins and 24 losses. Their last doubleheader ended in a split against the Chicago White Sox. The Orioles were hoping to bring home the win after a devastatingly close first game loss to the White Sox. With all of the rioting going on in Baltimore, the Orioles were happy to win the second game of the doubleheader by 6-3. The Orioles pitcher, Sale, was pleased with his strikeout and no walk performance on Thursday night. See how the Orioles fair when the take on the Tampa Bay Rays for a triple header starting May 29.Get your tickets for $12 a piece and enjoy a night out on the field.

5/18/15 - In his debut for the Baltimore Orioles, RHP Mike Wright had the kind of start pitchers dream of. He went three-up, three-down against the Angels in the first inning including a 98 MPH fastball strikeout of one Mr. Mike Trout. He faced the minimum number of batters through his first three innings before Kole Calhoun knocked in a single to get L.A. moving, followed shortly by a double to deep left field by Albert Pujols that put Calhoun on third. In the end, Wright got Johnny Giovotella to swing for strike three to end the inning and escape the jam. The O’s will play three more at Camden Yards this week against the Mariners and tickets are on sale now! Claim your spot for as low as $3!

5/11/15 - Finding themselves in an unfamiliar position, the Baltimore Orioles are looking to string together consecutive wins for the first time in ten games to start climbing out of last place in the AL East. A 10-2 beat-down at the hands of the Blue Jays dropped Baltimore to 14-17 on the season, as the O’s continue to look for rhythm following an odd series of games which included the first-ever major league contest played in front of an empty ballpark. The Orioles will conclude their home series versus Toronto on Wednesday evening and you can be there starting at just $3! Beginning Friday, Baltimore will play host for the L.A. Angels at Camden Yards, and tickets for the first game start at just $6. Come support the Birds as they fight their way back into the mix.

5/4/15 - With their 3-2 loss to the Mets on Monday, the Baltimore Orioles dropped back to .500 and remained a half-game behind Tampa Bay for second place in the AL East. The Orioles couldn’t get much past 41-year-old starter Bartolo Colon, who has now defeated Baltimore as a pitcher for seven different ball clubs throughout his career. The Birds had won two straight against the Rays at home to start the week but they couldn’t maintain their momentum on the road in New York. They’ll play one more interleague game at Citi Field against the Mets before opening a four-game American League series versus the Yankees. Tickets for all four contests at Yankee Stadium are on sale now! Get seats at Thursday night’s game starting at just $10!

4/30/15 - The Baltimore Orioles made history in baseball as the city recovers from protests and violent unrest. In an unprecedented move in Wednesday’s game, fans were shut out of the ballpark as the Orioles hosted the Chicago White Sox. The team tried to pretend, tossing balls into the stadium, but it was all too quiet. The Orioles picked up the win at 2-8. The weekend home games were moved to Tampa Bay to ensure safety for everyone involved. The Orioles stay out on the road after the weekend series for two games against the Mets, then four games against the Yankees. When the Orioles come home on Monday (5/11) to host the Toronto Blue Jays in three games, hopefully Baltimore will be finding a sense of normalcy so that fans can back to enjoying their game.

4/21/15 - The Baltimore Orioles have a 7-7 record, putting them in the middle of the pack in the AL East, tied with the Blue Jays and the Yankees. The Orioles are on a two-game losing streak, after the games against the Red Sox (7-1) and the Blue Jays (6-13) didn’t go well. Orioles’ fans have a lot of chances to see their home team play beginning on Friday (4/24) when the Boston Red Sox come to town for three games over the weekend. Tickets start at $12. Get them now and enjoy the best seats to watch the game. Monday (4/27) brings the Chicago White Sox. With tickets starting at $2, you can bring your friends to relax after a hard day at work. Get on down to the ballpark for some great baseball.

4/15/15 - In a career-high record of 10 strikeouts over seven innings, Miguel Gonzalez led the Baltimore Orioles to a victory over the New York Yankees with a final score of 3-4. Gonzalez gave up four hits, a walk, and a run, but he was not the only star in the game, Adam Jones homered and drove in two runs, and Caleb Joseph made a contribution of an RBI for the win. Over the weekend, the Orioles join the Red Sox at their home stadium, Fenway Park. If you can get to Boston to catch them play, they’d love to see their fans cheering them on. The Orioles next home game is on Friday (4/24) for the first of three games against the Red Sox. Tickets start at $10. Get them now before they’re gone.

4/8/15 - The 2015 campaign is off to a successful start for the Baltimore Orioles, considered a strong candidate to win the A.L. East Division for the second straight season. The O’s have taken two from Tampa Bay to start the season, the second a come from behind victory.

3/25/15 - Some not so good news from Baltimore Orioles camp last weekend, as manager Buck Showalter opined that catcher Matt Wieters would be unlikely to start the season with the club. Wieters underwent Tommy John surgery last year; although Wieters had a successful return to the field over the weekend, the club has shut him down for at least one week.

3/18/15 - The Baltimore Orioles snapped a five game losing streak by beating the Phillies on Monday, but they couldn’t hold on to a win on Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins. Then they turned around on Wednesday and outscored the Twins 3-2 for another win. Ubaldo Jiminez allowed two runs and five hits in the four innings that he pitched for the Orioles, which is his best outing in spring training. Upcoming home games during spring training include Sunday (3/22) against the St. Louis Cardinals, Wednesday (3/25) against the Toronto Blue Jays, and on Friday (3/27) against the Tampa Bay Rays. Tickets for Sunday’s game start at $54. Wednesday’s game is a bargain at only $17 and up. Enjoy a hot dog when you’re at the stadium and have a great afternoon of fun!

3/10/15 - The Baltimore Orioles have a huge offensive hole to fill this year, with the offseason departure of slugger Nelson Cruz. So the O’s have to be asking how to replace that offensive production…and it’s just possible that the answer may already be on the roster; however, that answer also requires that Manny Machado, Chris Davis, and Matt Wieters perform to their full potential this season, according to ESPN’s Jayson Stark.

3/4/15 - So close but yet so far. That phrase could easily sum up how the Baltimore Orioles could look back at 2014, when they pulled away from the pack about two-thirds of the way through the season, only to lose the American League Championship Series to Kansas City. So, obviously, the O’s are looking at the next level as an indication of success.

2/16/15 - It has been a long wait, but the new MLB season is almost here. Even though the season does not start officially until early April, true Baltimore Orioles fans can see their team in action early starting on March 4th, less than two weeks from now. The Orioles will be taking on the Detroit Tigers and you can attend for just $34. Baltimore has 14 home games in the preseason to look forward to and many more throughout the season. The first real game is on April 6th against the Tampa Bay Rays, but the Orioles have their home opener on the 10th against the Toronto Blue Jays. If you would like to kick the season off right and cheer your team to victory, tickets are still available starting at $80.

1/28/15 - The Baltimore Orioles open the 2015 MLB preseason with a game against the Detroit Tigers on March 4 at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, FL. The Orioles and the Tigers battled in the 2014 play-offs for the World Series, and the Orioles swept the Division Series for the American League Title. To their disappointment, when they went up against the Kansas City Royals for the World Series, the Royals swept the games. Razorgator has tickets for the opening game between the Tigers and Orioles starting at $43. The Orioles just acquired outfielder Travis Snider from the Pirates. Snider hits .246 and has had 50 homers in his career. He replaces Nick Markakis and Nelson Cruz, who the Orioles lost to free agency. The Orioles lineup is changing.

A Year of Anniversaries at the Ballpark
In 2014, the Orioles won the Division title, but couldn’t bring home the World Series title against the Royals. Early predictions are that the 2016 team is one of the strongest ever for Baltimore, and the Orioles hope to go all the way again. As the preseason games kick off in Florida, everyone is excited about the upcoming year. The team brought on one of the top players in the Korean Baseball Organization, Hyun Soo Kim, with expectations that he will standout during the game both at the plate and in the outfield.

The Orioles are celebrating their 25th anniversary at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. It’s the golden anniversary of their cartoon bird logo, which made its first appearance in 1966.
