Likewise, Byron Buxton has already made his big-league debut for Minnesota, although he didn’t get off to quite the same fast start as Seager in Los Angeles. On the mound, watch out for No. 3 prospect Lucas Giolito, who figures to become a weapon for the Nationals in the very near future. Many of baseball’s biggest young names will be on display, so grab your MLB Spring Training tickets today and get in on the ground floor!

The official report dates for each major league team have been announced, and by the end of February, all your favorite players will be back in full-swing getting prepped for the 2016 season. 3/24/15 - Although the games don’t impact regular season standings, MLB Spring Training has seen many of last year’s best teams climb to the tops of their respective preseason leagues. In Cactus League play, the Los Angeles Dodgers lead the pack at 12-6, as they are once again expected to contend behind a strong rotation led by Clayton Kershaw and the offensive firepower of Yasiel Puig. Kansas City and Oakland are neck-and-neck for second among western teams, with the L.A. Angels not far behind. The Blue Jays continue to thrive in the Grapefruit League, the addition of 3B Josh Donaldson no doubt adding pop to their batting order. St. Louis and the MLB’s two teams from New York round out top squads in the east as the league readies for Opening Day—just 10 days away!
3/20/15 - With MLB Spring Training about halfway over, the competition is becoming more intense as players try to prove their skills and earn a starting position. In the Cactus League, one of the players to watch has been Drew Pomeranz of the Oakland Athletics. In a game against the Mariners on Wednesday, the pitcher with a notoriously tough curveball struck out four players in just five innings and only allowed one run. In Florida’s Grapefruit League, attention has certainly been on Mookie Betts, who has earned himself the lead hitting spot for the Boston Red Sox. With a batting average of .448 this preseason, many might be surprised to learn that the 22-year-old wasn’t even at spring training last season. The regular season is scheduled to start April 6.
3/12/15 - One of the most anticipated times of the year for baseball fans is the weeks of MLB Spring Training. It is already underway and the next few weeks determine a lot for the players and for the fans. 2014 World Series champions, the San Francisco Giants are one team to watch to see if they are going to be able to pull off another championship. Unfortunately, one of their star players, Hunter Pence is out from a broken forearm and in spring training it will be interesting to see what players step up to the plate in the athlete’s absence. The Kansas City Royals who were runner’s up in last years World Series are looking for a new ace during spring training. They are hungry for another chance at the championship and hope they can get there with a new ace.
3/4/15 - Opening Day is almost upon us, and MLB spring training has created a lot of buzz this season. One player in particular who has been able to thrive during this time has been Jorge Soler. Despite being quiet and reserved, he’s shown a lot of promise in terms of his athletic abilities. Throughout some defensive drills, he’s shown some quick feet. This is a great sign leading into the season for the Chicago Cubs. The Atlanta Braves also have a lot to look forward to, as outfielder Nick Markakis has recovered nicely since he suffered a herniated disk in his neck. The Braves have invested a lot of money in this player, and they are hoping his talents and baseball intelligence help him achieve a lot this year.
2/26/15 - MLB Spring Training has already commenced for the pitchers and catchers, with many of the first workouts for these players occurring the weekend of Feb. 20. For most teams, the rest of the squad have already joined the pitchers and catchers for their first workout, and the rest will be heading to their appropriate fields this weekend in time for the commence of the first games next week. MLB Spring Training also provides the chance for the top prospects to gain a place on the team. One to watch out for is Kyle Schwarber with the Chicago Cubs, who has a reputation as a solid hitter. Another top prospect is Matt Olson with the Oakland Athletics, who hit 37 home runs last season. Tickets are still available for games in both the Cactus and Grapefruit leagues.
2/18/15 - A great time of year for baseball fans alike is MLB Spring Training. This is a time where fans can see how players are progressing, and a lot of trades tend to go on throughout this period. This year, there have been some interesting 2015 player projections. Coming in at number one for hitting stats is Mike Trout, who plays for the Angels. Last year, he went on to hit 33 homeruns and maintained a .306 batting average. It was a great time for him, and it looks like the scouts are projecting big things from him this year. Coming in at number two is Giancarlo Stanton, a player who hit 40 homeruns for the Marlins last year. Both of these players should provide some excitement this year.
